It has a really thick, creamy texture - almost like applying an ointment. I have severe atopic dermatitis around my eyes, and while I was hesitant to use regular atopy ointments there for fear of getting it in my eyes, this Ato Balm is specifically designed for facial use. I'm now on my second tube and use it worry-free. It's my holy grail product, even recommended by staff at Olive Young! As someone who dislikes sticky textures, it's a bit disappointing that my hair tends to stick to my face when using this. However, its hydrating power is still top-notch. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 27, 2025
Used it well throughout the winter. While I can't say my skin dramatically improved, I appreciated that it kept dryness at bay. As someone with blemish-prone skin, I was worried, but I never felt like this caused any breakouts. It's far superior to Cicabio Plus. The sticky feeling tends to linger a bit longer than I'd like. It's on the pricier side, so I'd recommend waiting for a sale to snag it. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinFeb 16, 2025
I have mild atopy on my body, which causes itching. I've tried various emulsions and creams that claim to relieve itching, but none really worked. I found this product while searching on Naver and decided to give it a try. • Honestly, I thought it would work immediately after one application, but of course, that wasn't the case. I started seeing results on the third day (applying once daily). • The itching truly disappeared. • Even if I don't apply it the next day, the effects still last to some extent. • It's a bit sticky. • It feels like it creates a film on the skin, which might be hit or miss for some people. Buying directly from overseas is much cheaper. Look for sites other than Coupang, like on Naver, where you can find even better deals. However, be cautious as there might be counterfeits, so do your research before purchasing. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinFeb 15, 2025
During my teenage years, I had oily skin and used lightweight formulas. But as an adult, my skin became dry, and that's when I settled on Bioderma. First off, I'm absolutely in love with the scent. The way it absorbs is fantastic - it just feels great every time I apply it. I use this product at the end of my skincare routine, and it absorbs well. It also has a calming effect on my sensitive skin. For those with deep dryness and dry skin, you absolutely must try this. It's seriously amazing!!! There's not really anything I dislike about it. It doesn't cause any blemishes either. However, if you're not a fan of sticky cream textures, I'd recommend giving this one a pass. When I apply it generously after my nighttime skincare routine, my skin looks fantastic in the morning!!! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinNov 17, 2024
The hydration power is no joke, and it worked wonders on my skin texture! After completing my skincare routine, I generously apply this as the final step before bed. The next morning, I was amazed to see that my bumpy skin had completely vanished. It's not just great for the face - you can use it anywhere on your body without issues. I absolutely love it! The scent is rather unpleasant, and people seem divided on whether it's too sticky or too moisturizing. It really depends on personal preference! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinSep 26, 2024
I've never used a body emulsion before, but as I've gotten older, my skin became so dry after showering that it stung and kept me up at night with itching. I tried various body emulsions, but nothing worked until I used this product. It calmed the stinging and itching. I keep the 500ml bottle by my bed and apply it frequently. I'm often sensitive to cosmetics and shampoos (my eyes swell and itch), so I always test products on my skin. This one caused no blemishes even when applied to my face. Being a balm-type product, it feels a bit sticky when applying (though it softens after absorption). For those with extremely dry skin, I recommend using the Intensive Balm right away. Despite all the 'ultra' this and that, the balm's hydrating power is far superior to emulsions. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 23, 2024
Hydration and Moisture I knew Bioderma products were generally moisturizing, but this one really takes it to the next level! You can feel the hydration in its rich, slightly thick texture. The moisturizing effect lasts for a long time too. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I found it wasn't too greasy and was just right for everyday use. I think those with dry skin will love it even more! I'm looking forward to using it even more when autumn comes. Scent I'm not a fan of artificial fragrances, so I was worried this might have one. Fortunately, it doesn't! Even those sensitive to scents should be fine using this product. Application While it's slightly thick and rich, it doesn't feel heavy like a balm. Instead, it applies smoothly like an emulsion, which I really appreciate. I don't like products that feel suffocating on the skin, and this one doesn't at all. Suitable for Atopic and Sensitive Skin As someone with atopic skin, I can't say for sure if it improved my condition, but I definitely felt like it suited my skin well due to its excellent moisturizing properties. Some other products occasionally cause blemishes or just don't seem to work for me, but this one was gentle and compatible with my atopic skin. Slight Stickiness Compared to other hydrating products, it does have a thicker, richer texture when applied, which results in a slight stickiness. It's not overly bothersome, but you can definitely feel a bit of tackiness. Seasonality Personally, I found it a bit heavy for summer use. I think it would be better suited for autumn or winter when you need that extra moisture boost. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I think this is a product I'll use more in autumn and winter rather than summer. Those with dry skin will likely find it suitable for year-round use. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 21, 2024
✨ My skin type: Combination with oily T-zone, dry cheeks, and atopic skin ✨ Overall impression: An oily emulsion type more suitable for body than face. Not recommended for areas with severe inflammation. ✨ Purchase intention: ★★☆☆☆ If I were to buy it, I'd use it only for body, but the price feels a bit high for the volume... 1. Great product for dry skin 💕 As my body tends to be very dry, this product keeps the dryness at bay for a long time after application! It works especially well when applied to areas like elbows, knees, and calves. 2. Absorbs well, lightweight texture 💕 While products that maintain hydration longer often have a heavier texture, this one is light and absorbs well, making it much easier to apply! It even feels moisturizing when applied after showering, once the skin is slightly dry. 1. Ingredients didn't agree with my skin 💦 There must have been an ingredient that didn't suit me... When applied to areas with atopic dermatitis, it caused itching after a while. While it's moisturizing, those with super sensitive skin should check the ingredients before purchasing! 2. Slightly sticky 💦 It's fine when used on the body, but for those planning to use it on the face, the lingering stickiness might be a bit bothersome. Especially for combination or oily skin types! It might cause excess oil on your face, so it's best to use it as a body product!! 3. Oiliness 💦 While some oiliness is necessary to combat dryness, the lingering greasy feeling on hands even after some time is indeed annoying... This could be seen as an advantage, but... For those with sensitive, oily, or combination skin, it's better to use this as a body product rather than on the face. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 21, 2024
I suddenly developed atopic dermatitis on my knee, which I'd never had before. I thought it might be because I hadn't been using any body emulsion, so I was looking for a cream specifically for atopic skin. I'm glad I got to try this famous product! It's fragrance-free, which is great. I was worried it might be too oily for use on the body, but it's not overly rich at all. Since it's summer, I can't apply it all over, but I've been using it on areas prone to atopic flare-ups like my knees and the creases of my arms. I'll definitely use this as my go-to body emulsion in winter. With consistent application, the itching from my atopic dermatitis has decreased, and I haven't experienced any side effects. While it's not as oily as I expected, it's still too rich for my oily skin type to use on my face. The excess product left on my hands doesn't absorb well and feels sticky, so I have to wash my hands after applying. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 20, 2024
I have combination dehydrated skin, but due to aging and working a lot with my hands, they tend to be quite dry. So I focused on applying this product to my hands rather than my face. The texture is like a non-runny yogurt, and it's fragrance-free. It feels pleasantly moisturizing when applied. It definitely brought some much-needed hydration to my dry hands. While it applies smoothly and lightly, there's a sticky feeling afterwards, so I wouldn't use it before applying makeup. It might feel heavy on the skin during hot summer days. If you have very dry skin, it might be good to apply a thin layer as the final step in your skincare routine, using just a small amount. I found that when it felt sticky after application, gently massaging or patting my skin again reduced the stickiness and improved absorption. Also, it works better as part of a night care routine rather than in the morning.
