First off, the hydration power is truly top-notch. My face and hands tend to get chapped in winter, but with this product, I stay moisturized all day long. Especially when applied right after showering, my skin feels smooth even the next day. I'm prone to itchiness, but consistent use has significantly reduced that. Being a balm, I initially worried it might feel heavy, but it absorbs surprisingly quickly with minimal stickiness. Its versatility is fantastic - you can use it on your face, hands, elbows, or any dry areas. It does leave a slightly rich feeling on the skin. Those with oily skin might find it a bit heavy. Also, it's not exactly budget-friendly, so using it generously might be a bit of a stretch... Still, considering its effectiveness, I'm satisfied. 1. For maximum absorption and double the moisturizing effect, apply immediately after showering while your skin is still slightly damp! 2. When applying to your face, use a small amount and spread thinly. For drier areas (like around the nose and chin), try layering it on for extra hydration. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 20, 2024
If you have dry skin, this is the ultimate cream! If you're searching for a cream to combat dryness, I absolutely, wholeheartedly recommend this one. With its rich texture, just one application tackles dryness and significantly reduces dead skin cells. I have combination dehydrated skin on my face and dry skin with mild eczema on my body. When I used it on my face, it didn't cause any major blemishes, but it felt a bit heavy due to my oily tendencies. Feeling slightly disappointed, I tried it on my body... and wow! The itchiness from dryness disappeared, and the hydration lasted for hours after application. The next morning when I showered, my skin felt incredibly smooth and moisturized, which was so satisfying. While it's not completely free of stickiness, it's definitely worth using if you want to combat dryness. If you apply it generously to dry skin or specific dry areas and shower the next day, you'll feel like you've just had an expensive dermatologist treatment! The photos show: 1 & 2 - Before use 3 - Generous application 4 - After absorption If you have oily skin, it might feel a bit heavy. Also, there's a slight stickiness, but personally, I think a bit of stickiness equals hydration! As you can see in the photos, if you apply it generously and sleep, those dry, flaky areas disappear completely, leaving your skin soft and smooth! It's truly amazing! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinSep 19, 2024
As a woman in her early 40s, I'm currently in a recovery period after receiving laser treatment for melasma at my dermatologist's. They advised me to skip functional cosmetics and focus on daily hydration and regenerative creams post-treatment. Despite being in this rest phase, my skin feels extremely dry overall, with a compromised skin barrier causing stinging and itching sensations. ✔️Texture Compared to my existing regenerative creams, this balm-type product has a slightly richer consistency. In terms of texture, I'd rank it: Bioderma > LaroXXX. It has a gel-cream-like texture that absorbs beautifully. ✔️Experience With my damaged skin barrier, everything I applied felt insufficient in terms of hydration. I was constantly reapplying regenerative creams, but still felt parched. However, Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Balm filled that hydration void at lightning speed. Even though my combination dehydrated skin will soon face another round of melasma laser treatments, I'm no longer worried about dryness. Unlike other products that can feel greasy when layered, this one doesn't, which I love. ✔️Scent As someone sensitive to fragrances, I really appreciate that this product is unscented. Since this product was exactly what I needed, I honestly can't find any downsides. However, if you have oily skin, it might feel a bit heavy and stuffy during summer. If you're struggling to quench your skin's thirst, I recommend applying a thick layer (about the size of a 500 won coin) before bed. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSep 19, 2024
- Bioderma / Atoderm Intensive Baume Review - Skin type: Extremely dry, sensitive, with visible capillaries. Scent: Nearly fragrance-free. Due to my allergies, I can't pinpoint the exact smell, but it's barely noticeable. Blemishes: After about 2 weeks of use, I didn't experience any major blemishes. Despite an irregular diet causing some texture, after a week I noticed my pores seemed to shrink and the texture gradually disappeared. I brought the 'Atoderm Intensive Baume' to use with relatives during Chuseok, and they liked it too! Even after just one use, my skin had a natural glow in the morning, like a peeled egg. Ingredients: - Mineral Oil: Prevents moisture loss, improves skin barrier function, helps with dry skin - Butylene Glycol: Moisturizer that attracts and retains hydration. Also has antibacterial properties and can act as a preservative when combined with others. - Beta-Sitosterol: A type of plant cholesterol with anti-inflammatory and moisturizing effects. Promotes regeneration of blood vessels and skin. - Sodium Citrate: Used in food preservation, also prevents coagulation in stored blood for medical purposes. - Ceramides: Excellent for skin hydration and repair. Strengthens the skin barrier, rebuilds cells, and prevents moisture loss. After researching these 5 ingredients, I found keywords like 'skin hydration', 'moisture loss', and 'moisturizer'. The formula seems designed to be gentle and could greatly benefit those with damaged skin. Hydration: A must-have cream for dry skin types! It tackles deep dryness in one go, leaving your skin feeling supple and comfortable. Recently, due to makeup practice, I've been cleansing 3-4 times, which usually damages my skin quickly. But after simply applying toner, ampoule, and this cream at home, I woke up to soft, supple skin after a good night's sleep. For those with dry skin who struggle with tightness after cleansing, especially around the cheeks, and find it hard to hydrate with just toner/ampoule or essence, this 'Atoderm Intensive Baume' should be more than enough to ease your hydration worries. Volume: At around 30,000 won for 75ml, it might seem a bit pricey. While I acknowledge the price due to its gentle, natural ingredients, if it were on sale (20-30% off) with an increased volume of 50-80ml, it could be an excellent emergency cream. That's how good it is at calming sensitive skin. Texture: Being a balm, it might feel a bit rich and slightly oily (especially for dry skin). As it's composed of 'butter, oil, wax, etc., it has excellent sealing properties. It defends against moisture loss and protects the skin from external environments'. While it provides great protection, some might find it a bit heavy due to its richness. Cons: Not suitable for oily skin, questionable for combination skin, not recommended for combination dehydrated skin. This product is specifically designed for dry/atopic skin, so those with oilier skin types might find it too rich and potentially uncomfortable. For combination skin, using a very small amount might work. Not recommended if you sweat a lot on your face, as the combination of oil and sweat can be unpleasant. Pro tip: Apply 2-3 thin layers to reduce the heavy feeling. Use a mask applicator to spread it thinly, and you can control the oiliness with a bit of powder for nighttime use. Due to its rich texture, it's better used at night - use about a fingertip's worth. If using in the morning, stick to about 1/3 of that amount! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 19, 2024
I didn't have high expectations since there are many good moisturizing products out there... But I tested it on my face and even on my hands with atopic dermatitis, and I'm impressed! The texture is lightweight, and after application, it leaves the skin hydrated and soft with moisture lasting until the next day! I also prefer products without strong fragrances, and this one is unscented! The reason I tested it on both my face and hands is that I wash my hands frequently, and they get extremely dry due to atopic dermatitis. Since it claimed to soothe itching and be good for very dry and problematic skin, I applied it with some skepticism, but it's truly amazing. When I first applied it, I thought it might not provide long-lasting hydration because it felt so light, but surprisingly, it lasted even longer than thicker creams. The immediate soothing effect was fantastic! And the dead skin cells... I was really stressed about them being visible on my hands. Those with atopic dermatitis will understand... The affected areas become red, flaky, and incredibly itchy. But after applying this, the flakiness visibly reduced, the redness disappeared, and the itching subsided. It's absolutely fantastic! The price is a bit disappointing. Also, since it's quite rich in oils, those with oily skin might find it a bit heavy when used on the face. If you have atopic dermatitis, give this a try! It really worked wonders for my atopic skin! I've tried so many products because of my atopic dermatitis, but none have impressed me as much as this one. I really wish I could stock up on it if it weren't for the price! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 19, 2024
1. The hydration is fantastic! It's perfect for those with dry skin! 2. The ingredients are gentle! I'd recommend this for sensitive skin types due to its mild formulation! 3. The tube packaging is convenient! It's definitely more hygienic than scooping product out of a jar! 1. It doesn't absorb that well! Those with oily skin might find it a bit heavy! 2. It feels somewhat ordinary! There's no standout effect or anything special about it! 3. The price is a bit disappointing! It's on the expensive side, which might be a burden for some! Highly recommended for those with dry and sensitive skin, as well as those with atopic dermatitis! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 18, 2024
Sensitive combination skin with redness Currently treating dermatitis Menthol ingredients don't suit me Tested morning and night for about a week As I have super sensitive skin that reacts to incompatible ingredients within 3 days with small blisters, I'm very cautious when trying new products. For comparison, I applied it gradually, starting from my forehead, then left cheek, and finally both cheeks. Texture & Scent: Soft cream with a slight thickness, fragrance-free Application: Applies with a bit of thickness Effects: Despite my ongoing 5-month dermatitis treatment due to using a menthol shampoo, I was able to use this cream for a week without any significant irritation, contrary to my worries. While I didn't notice dramatic improvements like 'My skin is visibly calmer' or 'My blemishes have definitely decreased', I did feel like 'My skin seems to be doing better?' which was a positive sign. I had to use a cream to prevent deep dryness during my skin treatment, so this worked well for me. I plan to finish the entire jar. Overall: Given that it worked well even on my extremely sensitive skin during dermatitis treatment, I'd like to give it 5 stars. If I see good soothing effects after finishing the jar, I might consider purchasing it with my own money. The slightly rich texture might feel heavy for those with oily skin, and it could be a bit much to apply before going out on a hot summer day. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinSep 18, 2024
As a member of The Hwahae Testers, I've used this product for about 5 days after receiving it. Here's my review: 1. Function and Effects: This product seems specialized for skin hydration. It has a good oil and moisture balance, with a slightly rich feel that's great for managing dry areas. It's gentle on the skin with no irritation, and I felt a soothing effect. 2. Application: Being a balm, I expected it to be very thick and stiff, but it had more of a cream texture than I thought. It spreads thinly and easily, making it comfortable to apply. As it's focused on moisturizing and soothing with long-lasting hydration, it feels heavier than expected. After absorption, it's less sticky, but you can still feel a layer on your skin. 3. Scent: True to its gentle nature, it seems fragrance-free. While you can detect a slight scent from the raw ingredients, it's not particularly noticeable. As a fan of unscented cosmetics, I absolutely love this aspect. 4. Packaging: It comes in a tube without any extra box packaging. I appreciate the lack of unnecessary packaging. Also, while many Korean cosmetics use English excessively these days, I liked that this one includes Korean labeling (albeit on a sticker). With the ongoing heatwave, it feels a bit heavy and stuffy to use right now. I'll probably use it for spot treatments or wait until the weather cools down a bit. Also, possibly due to the mineral oil or the heavy application, I occasionally felt a slight itchiness. Applying it all over during the day might feel heavy and oily. Use it lightly as a final step at night or for spot treatments on areas you want to manage! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 12, 2024
Texture - It has a delightfully rich and bouncy consistency. Feel - Despite my super sensitive skin, I could use this without any major issues. Being a balm, it definitely locks in moisture and hydration. I have atopic dermatitis around my eyes, making that area particularly dry, but after using this balm, the dryness around my eyes disappeared, which was very satisfying. Scent - It's close to being unscented, so it should be suitable for everyone regardless of scent preferences! Moisturizing power - Perhaps because it's in balm form, its moisturizing ability is truly exceptional. I have atopic dermatitis, which causes severe redness and dryness around my eyes, but when I apply this product before bed, my skin stays hydrated until morning. I also applied it to areas on my body with severe atopic dermatitis and stretch marks, and it made my skin as soft and smooth as a baby's! The downside was that, as I have quite oily skin, my face tends to be quite greasy. Since this product has such a rich texture, applying too much on my face made it feel a bit heavy. (It was fine on the body though!) For those with dry skin, I think it's fine to apply generously on the face regardless of the season. However, for those with extremely oily skin, it might be better to apply sparingly on the face during summer. (In winter, it shouldn't be an issue.) - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinSep 11, 2024
I have sensitive combination skin with oily areas only around my nose. The fragrance was truly unscented, and I couldn't detect any smell at all. When first applying, it felt like an emulsion, but as I spread it, it was a bit thicker than expected. It's not sticky, but has a slightly powdery feel with a hint of richness...? Still, it absorbs well into the skin. My face gets very dry in winter, so I've used many similar creams. This one provides great hydration, so I think it'll be perfect for winter use. It also feels very gentle, so I believe it would be suitable for those with super sensitive skin. When my skin suddenly became irritated, I applied this cream. It's definitely gentle, giving a sense of moisturizing the skin barrier. I was relieved that it hydrated well without causing any tingling sensation on my face. It felt a bit heavy when applied to the face, which was slightly disappointing. I think this might be better suited for those with combination dehydrated skin or dry skin types who tend to get oily. I think it would work great in winter, providing good hydration.
