The Hwahae Testers review: My skin type is combination dehydrated to oily, and I don't have super sensitive skin :) 🐻 Packaging & Container: I liked that the packaging was made of paper, and the tube opening was neither too big nor too small, making it convenient to use! 🐻 Texture: It has an aloe vera gel texture that's not quite runny, but when you put it on your hand, it does slightly drip after a moment! 🐻 User Experience: ▪️ Lather: When lathered by hand, it doesn't produce an abundance of foam or feel particularly rich, but it was sufficient for cleansing! ▪️ Cleansing: My first impression was that it felt gentle! There wasn't much deep dryness after washing! While it removed eyeliner and lip products with a few rolls, it seemed a bit challenging for a deep cleanse of foundation. I think it would be great to use after an initial cleanse with oil or cream! ▪️ Scent: It has a nearly fragrance-free aloe scent, which I don't think will be particularly divisive. While it's fine for removing sunscreen and morning cleansing, it's a bit disappointing for deep cleansing makeup! Some residue remains! Due to its texture, it can feel slippery or runny, and it's better for a light cleanse rather than giving that squeaky-clean feeling. I think it would work well as a second cleanse after using cleansing oil or cream! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 6, 2023
As someone with combination skin, I usually prefer gel cleansers, and I really enjoyed the feel of this one both during and after use. Sometimes I feel like there's residue left after cleansing, so I'd do a second pass on my T-zone and around my mouth, but with this cleanser I was really satisfied. It leaves my skin feeling clean without any dryness - it's amazing! And the price... it's just fantastic. I'm 100% going to buy this again. I've always found Dr. T.J.'s cleansers a bit pricey, so this is a great alternative. If I had to pick something, maybe the scent? Or rather, the lack of one. Oh, and make sure to close the cap tightly - the formula is quite runny and can spill if you're not careful. Here's my cleansing routine: I apply it directly to my dry face with clean hands (no water on the face first). Then I add a bit of water and massage it in. I rinse once, then follow up with a second cleanse for a total of two washes. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAtopy SkinOct 4, 2023
I usually use a cleansing foam with scrub, which was perfect for summer. But as the weather cooled down, my skin became super dry. While searching for a new product, I applied for the Hwahae Testers program and luckily got selected to try the Dabo Calming Gel Cleanser. I've been using it diligently for two weeks! The texture is almost identical to aloe gel, which made me doubt if it was actually a cleansing foam. But when I added a bit of water, it transformed into a foam! At first, the gel texture felt a bit slippery, but it cleansed thoroughly without any residue, leaving my skin feeling fresh! The best part about the Dabo Aloe Gel Cleanser is that it tackles deep dryness! Usually, with scrub-included products, I need to apply toner immediately after cleansing. But with this aloe gel cleanser, my skin can tolerate the time it takes to dry my hair! I think this product will help me get through the changing seasons this fall. Because it's a gel, the product tends to run a bit. That's why I store it upside down! Apart from this, I have no complaints! If you work up a rich lather, you can achieve an even gentler and more refreshing cleanse! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 4, 2023
I started using this cleanser without any expectations, just hoping for something gentle. My skin is sensitive and prone to blemishes if I'm not careful, so I've always been diligent with cleansing, often opting for stronger products despite the irritation. First off, I was amazed by its cleansing effectiveness! I used to think gentle meant less effective, but this product changed my mind. It leaves my skin feeling thoroughly cleansed - a truly revolutionary experience! What's more, it's incredibly hydrating. Usually, when a cleanser claims to be moisturizing, it leaves me feeling like there's residue. But this hydration is different... It's as if my skin is cleansed and then enveloped in moisture. I can move straight to my skincare routine without any tightness. It's wonderful! Lastly, it's non-irritating! A low pH cleanser with gentle exfoliation... it's exactly as described. There's no reason not to use it! The container is designed to stand upright, but when I didn't close the lid tightly enough, a lot of product leaked out. That was my mistake... what a waste! I've been storing it upside down since then. It's gentle enough for morning use and thoroughly cleanses in the evening. Using this cleanser is a beauty hack in itself... Everyone should try it! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinOct 3, 2023
As a low pH cleanser, it's gentle on the skin and didn't cause any tingling when I opened my eyes! The gel texture made it easy to rinse off, and I appreciated the generous amount. The scent wasn't off-putting, so I could wash comfortably. With its good safety rating, it's a reliable choice. For a low pH foam cleanser, it produces a rich lather, perfect for thorough cleansing. It's also budget-friendly, making it a great value-for-money foam cleanser. It had that typical slippery feel of low pH cleansers. While it lathers well, the cleansing effectiveness was lacking, and I found that double cleansing was absolutely necessary! After using it for a few days, I noticed that because it's a gel type, it mixes with water and becomes runny, causing the product to drip and gradually make the opening dirty. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 30, 2023
After receiving it, I tried using it in various ways. Here are the positive points I noticed when using it alongside my regular cleansing foam: 1. Compared to other brands' cleansing foams, this one definitely doesn't leave my skin feeling tight after use. Some cleansers that excessively remove dead skin cells can make your skin feel tight immediately after, but this product doesn't give that sensation, which I really appreciate. 2. There were many mixed reviews about the scent, but to me, it seemed almost fragrance-free... Though that might be because I'm not particularly sensitive to scents... 3. The ingredients must be gentle because I didn't experience any itching or allergic reactions during the week I used it. I have sensitive skin and often get redness or itching with incompatible cosmetics, but fortunately, I had no such reactions with this product. 4. Given that it's mildly acidic, I always used it as a second cleanser, knowing its cleansing power might have limitations. As a second cleanser, it leaves my skin feeling nicely moisturized. The downside is that it doesn't lather up very well. It's a transparent, runny gel-like texture, so after trying various methods, I recommend using a foaming sponge. Whether I used a lot or a little, it never produced much foam. After trying several methods, I found that creating a rich lather worked best for cleansing. When using it, I recommend squeezing out about a thumbnail-sized amount onto a sponge. Even with a small amount, you can create abundant foam with a sponge. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinApr 28, 2023
The Aloe Vera Calming Gel Cleanser contains 10000ppm of aloe vera extract in a gentle gel formula, creating soft and dense foam without irritating the skin. With a pH of 5.5, close to the skin's natural pH, it's mildly acidic, making it worry-free for those with super sensitive skin! It's less irritating and feels incredibly hydrating during cleansing. While it felt extremely gentle, soft, and hydrating during cleansing, I noticed some dryness after drying my face with a towel. Also, be careful when dispensing the product - it tends to slip and run down quickly if you're not careful. I find the Aloe Vera Calming Gel Cleanser gentle with good ingredients, and I plan to repurchase it. To avoid dryness, I keep my toner and essence in the bathroom and apply them immediately after cleansing. If you experience tightness after using a foam cleanser, try keeping your skincare products in the bathroom and applying them right away. This helps maintain hydration and prevents dryness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 28, 2023
After cleansing, I usually feel tightness on my face, but this product left my skin feeling moisturized with less of that tight sensation. It's a gentle formula, making it great for a light morning cleanse. When I felt the need for a deeper clean, I used a foaming net, which produced a rich lather and provided good cleansing effectiveness. Unlike other low pH products that often leave a residue or slippery feeling, this one left my skin feeling smooth and clean without any of that. There's not really anything to complain about, but if I had to nitpick, the lightweight gel texture tends to run off my hands easily. I recommend using a foaming net with this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 27, 2023
Cleanses gently without any artificial fragrance. Compared to other low pH gel cleansers, it produces richer lather and leaves skin feeling moisturized after use! It's non-irritating, doesn't cause blemishes, and is pleasant to use. Since it's a gel type, it can sometimes run off your hands when you're trying to use it with wet hands. It glides on well, but you just need to be careful about this. I recommend this more for morning cleansing rather than makeup removal. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 25, 2023
It's great that this product is fragrance-free. It cleanses gently and effectively. Being slightly acidic, it helps maintain the skin barrier. Perfect for a light morning cleanse. The gel consistency means it can spill when opened, so make sure to close it tightly after use. The low pH is a double-edged sword - it might actually aggravate acne-prone skin. Their promotion of EWG ratings seems to come from a rather unprofessional perspective. Using a foam net creates a richer lather. You can also use it as a body cleanser.
