Most mesh-type cushions are for a glowy finish, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this matte cushion! It has decent coverage and applies thinly, which is great. I mainly look for minimal darkening and thin application, and this product meets both criteria, so I'm really enjoying using it. The cushion tends to come out a bit dark and applies thinly, so you absolutely need to go down a shade or two from what you normally use! I usually use shades 21-23, but shade 17 worked well for me without looking too light or floating on my skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 1, 2025
After a solid skincare routine, I apply this thinly and pat it in. I wore it while running errands and even went for a jog. When I checked my reflection at the convenience store, even after 7+ hours, there was no darkening, my skin looked great, and the coverage lasted well without any patchiness or settling into fine lines. My friend even said, 'Looks like you've found your holy grail cushion!' I really love it! However, I wonder if it requires the right skincare combo and a light application technique? Others mention darkening and a deep shade, but I couldn't relate at all! Of all the cushions I've tried... this is the best by far. I've been a cushion nomad for so long, but not anymore! I wouldn't recommend this for dry or extremely dry skin types. No matter how thorough your skincare routine is, while it doesn't feel drying, you might notice some slight flaking of dead skin cells Lightly dab the puff, spread it gently, then pat it in - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 10, 2025
I started using this in August last year and it's still my beloved item! As someone with super sensitive skin that gets flaky when I apply too little product and has makeup that separates when I apply too much, Hince has really eased my base makeup worries from summer to winter. First off, it absorbs beautifully and adheres to the skin in a thin layer without feeling heavy at all! Usually, products that adhere so thinly lack coverage, but this one provides excellent coverage. On days I wear this, I get that perfect egg-shell complexion. What I love most is that it barely breaks down for 24 hours, and even when it does, it does so gracefully without any darkening. My skin tone is a bit dark for shade 17 but too light for 21, so I generally prefer 19-20. The Porcelain shade was just perfect for me! It gives me that perfect brightened look. The only thing I wish for is a prettier and more sophisticated cushion case. Other than that, I have no complaints about the product's performance. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinApr 2, 2025
The matte formula provides excellent adherence to the skin. It applies in a thin, lightweight layer. First off, it's inconvenient that the pact and the inner cushion don't stick together well, easily coming apart. While it applies thinly for good adherence, this makes it challenging to achieve an even application. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinApr 1, 2025
This is a summer must-have! It gives a matte but moisturized porcelain-like finish that's neither too flat nor too glowy. The ivory shade initially brightens up your complexion when applied thinly, but after a while, it blends with your natural skin tone for a subtly radiant look. Overall, the shades lean too yellow. Even though I'm usually a 21-22, I had to buy 19. They've recently released a 0.5 rosy shade, but I really hope they'll launch lower-numbered pink-based options too. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMar 3, 2025
The best thing about this cushion is its easy-to-control application. Thanks to the mesh net, it's incredibly simple to adjust the amount of product. As someone who prioritizes a thin application for cushions, I really appreciated this feature. Additionally, this product seems to be great at not emphasizing dead skin cells. Even in winter, when it's common for cushions to highlight flakiness despite thorough skincare, this one doesn't have that issue. There seems to be quite a bit of darkening with this product. When I used other cushions, I didn't notice significant darkening, so I didn't use a separate base. However, with this product, it feels necessary to use a base. After about 5 hours of wear outside, I noticed my face looking yellowish. Apart from this drawback, everything else seemed fine. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinFeb 17, 2025
It applies thinly and smoothly. It's the best cushion I've used recently. I noticed many of my friends are using this too! There's a bit of darkening, unfortunately. That's why I think it's best for touch-ups. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJan 19, 2025
I was worried about controlling the amount due to the mesh material, but even if you pick up a lot, it applies thinly and adheres well just by tapping it on the cushion pad. It's really great! The coverage is good, and it applies in a thin, well-adhering layer, which is fantastic. It feels like a foundation in cushion form. The photo was taken with an iPhone's regular camera in natural light about 3 hours after applying the cushion (no editing). Can you see how it completely covers the blackheads and large pores on my nose and T-zone?! For those with oily skin who usually apply powder after sunscreen and cushion, if you balance the powder well with this cushion, you can achieve perfect glass skin. Highly recommended! After applying the cushion and setting with powder, there might be some areas where it looks cakey or makes pores appear larger. It should be fine if you apply it carefully and in moderation. Since this cushion applies thinly, you can build up layers in areas that need more coverage to increase its effectiveness even further! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 15, 2024
It adheres to the skin with a thin, elastic feel. Despite being lightweight, it offers good coverage. The application is smooth and effortless. For those with larger blemishes or more noticeable skin issues, the thin application might feel like it provides less coverage. However, if you maintain good skincare habits and don't have major skin concerns, this cushion is absolutely perfect! Ensure a solid skincare routine before applying the cushion! (It's not about using many products, but finding the right ones for you.) Toner - Serum - Emulsion - Cream (go lighter for pre-makeup). Primer (highly recommend the Hince primer!!!). If you nail these steps, your base makeup will adhere much better! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinDec 4, 2024
Perfect for combination dehydrated skin! It's a neutral-based, long-lasting foundation. The thin, matte texture adheres well to the face. I used to think matte meant heavy and cakey, but this one applies incredibly thin and smooth. Applying a small amount as a base, then another thin layer on top provides great coverage. Most importantly, I didn't notice any darkening, and it seemed to fade naturally rather than break apart. You can even touch up your makeup over it without issues. Color-wise, if you usually use shade 21 or 20, definitely go for shade 17 Porcelain. Even though it's 17, it didn't look too light and matched my skin tone well. Not sure if it's because it clings to the skin so finely, but for some reason, I noticed some small bumps appearing after using this. However, since I have combination dehydrated skin and it was summer, I just kept using it anyway. When winter came, I felt some dryness on my cheeks, so I'm planning to switch to something else. Maybe I'll use this again next summer?
