I've repurchased this 5 times. While it doesn't offer much coverage, it gives a matte finish that minimizes pores. Generally, choosing a shade lighter than other cushions works well. The color is perfectly neutral, not overly influenced by your skin tone. Highly recommended if you dislike the feeling of thick layers on your skin. Though it rarely breaks down, it tends to clump and crease around the nose and eye areas when you sweat or when oil builds up. Pro tip: Spray a fixer after applying concealer but before the cushion to prevent the nose area from breaking down. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 25, 2025
It adheres well to the skin, gives an Inner Glow, and leaves a matte finish, making it easy to use. Highly recommended for those with good skin and those who prefer lightweight textures. On relatively dry areas, dead skin cells become more noticeable, and it doesn't cover red acne marks well, so a concealer is necessary. After some time, there's also a bit of darkening, unfortunately. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJan 20, 2025
I've always loved using Hince foundation in summer, so I decided to try their cushion this time. I'm not a fan of sponge cushions, so I was intrigued by the mesh net design. As someone with dry skin, I was worried about using it in winter, but it's not overly drying. Though marketed as matte, it's not extremely so, and the finish is pleasantly powdery. Those with oily skin might find it suitable even in winter. The shade 17 was a godsend - it matched my complexion perfectly without looking floaty or unnatural. It was like a second skin, not too light, just like my natural tone. I used to use Hince foundation in shade 21, which I liked for not being too bright, but it was slightly dark for me. This color is spot-on! Hince's strength is creating a thin, skin-like layer, and this cushion nails it. It's not too sheer, offers decent coverage including for pores, and adheres beautifully to the skin. While I'm setting it aside for winter, I think it'll be perfect for those with dry skin in summer! The packaging is lightweight and fits comfortably in one hand. I've even used it this season and found I didn't need to apply powder separately. My skin gets extremely dry in winter, but this cushion isn't terribly drying. However, for those with dry skin, this is definitely a summer cushion. The mesh net makes it a bit tricky to control the amount of product, sometimes resulting in a thicker application. It can clump slightly, so it's essential to dispense some on the back of your hand first, though controlling the amount remains challenging. The key is to use a small amount and press it into the skin for a seamless finish. Layering thinly multiple times creates a beautiful skin-like effect. For those with peach fuzz, patting the product rather than spreading it might work better. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 17, 2024
The coverage is decent and it gives a nice matte finish! I think it would be a safe choice for those with oily or combination skin. I've used up the original product and now I'm using the refill - it's great as a touch-up cushion. I wouldn't recommend this for makeup beginners... It sets quickly and it's hard to control the amount! Here are some other drawbacks I've noticed: 1. Emphasizes dead skin cells and texture -> Even after exfoliating + using toner pads and applying a thorough skincare routine, it still accentuates flakiness in winter, requiring multiple touch-ups. 2. Oxidation... -> At first, you might think 'Wow, my makeup looks amazing today!', but after about an hour, it starts to darken slightly and doesn't wear off gracefully, so you need to check it frequently when you're out. 3. It doesn't wear off attractively -> Without touch-ups, it's obvious that your makeup has deteriorated. It clings to the skin, and your complexion looks a bit off and darker...! (Related to point 2, but it doesn't fade naturally) 4. The puff seems subpar...? -> It feels like the puff and the product don't work well together. Personally, I found it helps to spray some face mist before application and blend it in for added hydration! Although it's semi-matte, those with oily or combination dehydrated skin will definitely need powder! It starts off matte but gets oily after a short while. The puff works better if you dampen it slightly before use. I'd recommend using this more for touch-ups rather than as a base product! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinNov 26, 2024
I'm on my 4th refill now. I'm really satisfied with how it absorbs and its staying power. The color is also beautiful, so I've been using it as my daily base cushion. The finish is so powdery that I don't even need to apply separate powder, which I love. I'm considering trying something more hydrating for winter, but I think if I strengthen my skincare routine, this could work well even in colder months! There's nothing particularly bad. If I had to nitpick, I wish the case was a bit sturdier. Also, they don't often have big sales, so the promotional aspect is a bit disappointing. I recommend applying it thinly by first tapping the puff once, then adjusting the amount. If you really pat it in well after application, you'll have a beautiful skin finish that lasts all day long. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 9, 2024
The finish is quite powdery and adheres well to the face It tends to cause some blemishes and irritation, and if skincare isn't done properly, it can lead to pilling - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinAug 29, 2024
This cushion is perfect for summer use! Although it's a matte cushion, it's not overly drying and leaves a soft, powdery finish when applied. It creates a beautiful complexion, so I think I'll be using it often! The coverage doesn't seem to be exceptionally high. Also, there's a slight darkening effect on the skin! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 12, 2024
This is truly my holy grail cushion so far! I have very oily skin, so I usually go for matte products. But matte cushions often apply too thick, causing my skin to break out or crack. This one is completely different! At first, it goes on moisturizing, then quickly sets to a powder finish without feeling heavy. It's absolutely perfect! Some people say the mesh makes it hard to control the amount, but I actually found it much easier to manage thanks to the mesh! The coverage is a bit lacking, so it might be best to use it with a concealer. For areas like pores, around the nose, and blemishes, first apply the product by gently wiping with the puff, then pat it in for a beautiful skin finish! The product seems to run a bit dark, so make sure to buy one shade lighter than your usual! I normally use shade 21, but found shade 17 to look the most natural and pretty on me. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinApr 28, 2024
1. Coverage: It applies thinly but the coverage is top-notch! It evens out the complexion so well that any redness disappears. The pore coverage on the nose and T-zone is especially impressive when you blend it in. 2. Adherence: If you apply it after your skincare has absorbed well, and blend it in, the adherence is really great. 3. Color: It's a beautiful ivory shade! I'm usually a 21, but the 17 matches perfectly. 4. Matte finish: It creates a powder-soft skin finish that doesn't break down easily! Perfect for a summer cushion. 5. Longevity: It feels like it coats the skin with a powder-soft layer, so even when you sweat, it stays put as if it's waterproof. I used to use the Laneige Neo Cushion, which gave a beautiful skin finish but lacked coverage and occasionally looked patchy. This product seems to have addressed those issues. It's the perfect summer cushion! Since it applies with a matte finish and goes on thinly, I wouldn't recommend it as a winter cushion. It's best for summer! Also, if you apply it when you have a lot of dead skin cells, it will look patchy. Make sure to exfoliate well before application. You absolutely must apply it with a patting motion for the best results! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMar 3, 2024
The coverage is absolutely incredible! It conceals all redness and blemishes perfectly. My skin looks so smooth and matte. I went out today and didn't need to touch up even once. Even after bowling and running around, sweating a bit, it didn't smudge, break down, or look patchy at all. The design is pretty and nice too. The shade seems to come out a bit dark. I usually use shades 18-19, but when I tried this cushion in shade 17, it didn't feel too light.
