I wanted to use a gentle mineral sunscreen, but everything I tried made my skin feel too tight. However, the Barroncie sunscreen is amazingly moisturizing despite being mineral-based. I love that it doesn't have that characteristic sunscreen smell, and it feels incredibly gentle without causing any itching or redness. The natural brightening effect makes my skin look clearer, which I really appreciate.
Cons* It's too greasy * The SPF37 rating is a bit disappointing Unless you have extremely dry skin, this might be too rich to use. The moisturizing effect comes more from oils and nourishing ingredients rather than hydration. Even with my very dry skin, it feels like there's a layer sitting on my face right after application, and it's quite slippery (oily). The texture would probably be unbearable for normal to oily skin types. While my extremely dry skin finds this oiliness comfortable now, I don't think I could wear this out in the height of summer. I'm particularly unsure about how well it would work under foundation. I haven't dared to try it yet! I think it might balance out with an extremely matte foundation. ((Update: It pairs perfectly with Double Wear!)) While I understand they likely kept the SPF lower to maintain gentle ingredients, it's still a bit disappointing. Because of this, I only use it at home or for quick trips nearby (when I'm not wearing makeup). I wouldn't use it for extended outdoor activities, on days I'm wearing makeup, or for important occasions.
TipRecommended for those with extremely dry skin and super sensitive skin as a daily gentle mineral sunscreen. (Not recommended for makeup use or oily skin types!)

It was so gentle that I had to double-check if it really was a mineral sunscreen! I usually don't prefer mineral sunscreens because they can be thick and hard to spread, but this one glides on so effortlessly that I find myself reaching for it often. The formula feels incredibly hydrating! No White Cast, No Pilling: It spreads evenly without pilling or leaving a white cast! Plus, being a mineral sunscreen, it provides immediate sun protection, making it perfect for those rushed mornings when you need to dash out quickly. Doesn't Cause Blemishes: While I don't have particularly sensitive skin, some sunscreens tend to cause breakouts for me. I've even given away quite a few to family members because of this. However, this one doesn't cause any issues! The product description mentions it's non-nano and silicone-free, which might be why. Even when I used it during a hormonal skin flare-up, it didn't cause any additional problems. Sun Protection: This is, of course, the primary function of sunscreen. I was initially concerned about its SPF 37 rating, as many products on the market boast SPF 50+. However, I didn't notice much difference in protection compared to higher SPF products. As a mineral sunscreen, it physically blocks the sun, and you can feel the difference on your skin. After some research, I learned that SPF 30+ is sufficient for daily activities, so I used this with confidence!
ConsRich Texture: Compared to other sunscreens, this one feels a bit richer and can leave a slight sheen. It's like it provides hydration but also adds some oiliness. While it's genuinely moisturizing, I wouldn't recommend it for those with very oily skin. + I haven't noticed any additional benefits beyond sun protection yet, but that might be due to the short period of use.

Although it's marketed as an essence sunscreen, it feels quite rich. If it were winter, I might have given it five stars. (I'll update my review if the weather gets drier!)
ConsHydration? Nope. Rich texture? Absolutely. Unfortunately, I won this during summer, so I can't help but mention the downsides... I have very dry skin that lacks both oil and moisture, but this feels too heavy for summer use. While others mentioned feeling hydrated, I honestly couldn't sense any hydration. From the moment I applied it, I only felt a thick, heavy richness. This seems more suitable for winter. Applying makeup over this on a hot day led to caking around my nose and my makeup breaking down due to the oiliness. SPF 37 With so many SPF 50 products available these days, SPF 37 feels a bit lacking. The sun cushion from the same line is SPF 50, so if they ever reformulate, I hope they'll release an SPF 50 version of this sunscreen too!
TipCan't use it in summer, definitely a winter product... I'll save it for a few more months before using.

The thick texture doesn't run, which is great. It's fragrance-free. There's no white cast visible.
ConsWhile there's no white cast, it claims to provide hydration with aloe vera leaf, ledebouriella root, lavender, chamomile flower extracts, and an organic calming complex. However, it feels more oily than hydrating. After application, it leaves a shiny finish. I wouldn't recommend this for those with oily skin. As someone with combination skin, I can't recommend it either.
TipIf you apply foundation after the sunscreen, it helps reduce the shiny appearance.

I'd recommend this to those who prefer unscented products. ✔️Texture It's on the thicker side. While it might seem a bit stiff at first, it applies smoothly on the skin. ✔️ White cast & Eye irritation There's a slight white cast when first applied, but it becomes natural after patting it in. As someone who doesn't prefer sunscreens with white cast, I was satisfied. There's virtually no eye irritation. ✔️Packaging I liked the clean design of the packaging. The narrow opening makes it easy to control the amount, and it doesn't leave residue on the container, which is great.
Cons✔️Packaging It comes in an opaque tube, and you need to squeeze a bit to get the sunscreen out. ✔️Oiliness It's on the oilier side, so you might feel quite greasy if you apply this over your skincare routine. If you have oily skin, you probably can't go out with just this sunscreen on.

The texture was richer than expected when applied. After application, it felt quite nourishing on the skin. I wonder if that's due to the shea butter in the ingredients? As someone with oily skin, it might be a bit heavy for summer use. However, it could work well in winter. This would be great for those with dry skin.
ConsThe texture is rich and feels quite nourishing, which might be too much for oily skin types. After application, there's a slight oily residue on the skin. I'd recommend this more for those with dry skin rather than oily skin.
TipSince I have oily skin, I plan to use this in winter.

Even after multiple applications, it feels moisturizing without any chalkiness, which explains why it's called an 'essence sunscreen'. I highly recommend this for those with dry skin! I was also impressed that it received an 'Excellent' grade from the stringent Dermatest, which really boosted my confidence in the product. Plus, its compact size makes it super portable. It would be perfect to take on trips, so I definitely recommend it for that!
ConsIf I had to point out a downside, it's that the rich texture might be a bit heavy for those with oily skin. Due to its consistency, I noticed some shininess and a rich feel, which was a bit disappointing. I'd recommend this more for people with dry skin.
TipBecause of its rich texture, I suggest applying it in thin layers.
