  The texture is incredibly rich! I prefer thicker formulas over watery ones, so I absolutely loved this. There was no noticeable scent, and if you have sensitive, extremely dry skin like mine with no natural oils, I think you'll be very satisfied!

  Cons

  Even on sensitive skin, it didn't cause any blemishes or tiny bumps at all! The only downside is that despite my preference for rich textures, the Ectoin product is really, really thick. If your skin isn't well-hydrated beforehand, it can be a bit challenging to apply. However, it's not often I find a sunscreen with such a rich texture, balanced oil content, and long-lasting hydration. So for me, it's definitely a five-star product!

  Make sure to prep your skin with a thorough, hydrating skincare routine before applying the Ectoin sunscreen! This will help the sunscreen apply more smoothly. Also, if you have oily skin, you might notice some richness after applying makeup over the sunscreen, so setting with powder would be a good idea.

  Skin type: Extremely dry, prone to redness, enlarged pores, super sensitive skin As someone with sensitive skin, I usually prefer physical sunscreens. However, I really liked the Ectoin Essence Sunscreen because it's a physical sunscreen with SPF 37, which isn't irritating. The texture is slightly rich and feels thick when applying. But the finish gives a subtle Inner Glow and feels hydrating, so you might not need to use a cream in your skincare routine before applying this sunscreen. Despite its thick consistency, it doesn't cause pilling with your skincare products underneath. There's a very faint, fresh herbal scent, but it's practically unscented. This makes it suitable for those sensitive to fragrances. It doesn't sting the eyes. ⭐️ The subtle Inner Glow lasts, making your skin look beautifully hydrated for hours. ⭐️ Over time, the sunscreen doesn't separate or dry out, and it doesn't settle into fine lines around the eyes.

  Cons

  I didn't have any issues while using this product, but those who prefer a powdery or matte finish might find it less satisfying.

  Tip

  After applying the sunscreen, if you lightly dust some powder just around the outer areas of your face, you can achieve a beautifully glowing, natural look that's still hydrated.

I absolutely love that there's no scent. *Texture It has a white emulsion-like color with a rich, thick consistency. It spreads easily, and while I initially thought it might leave a white cast, it disappears completely after a few rolls. *Feel on skin Despite its thick texture, once fully applied, there's no white residue. At first, it feels slightly oily, but it's surprisingly non-greasy and hydrating. I have combination dehydrated skin with atopic tendencies, and I find it quite suitable. *Packaging The sturdy tube is great for dispensing just the right amount. However, like most tubes, it can be a bit tricky to squeeze out the last bits when you're running low. Other than that, I'm pleased with it. *Additional notes I didn't experience any blemishes after use. I've been wanting to try a product with ectoin, and it seems to work well with my sensitive skin. For an idea of how it looks after application, check the left side of my hand in the photo. There's a slight glow initially, but it absorbs quickly and settles nicely.

  ✔️ Usage period: June 21 - June 28, 2024. ✔️ Design: Unlike typical sunscreens, the sturdy packaging is fantastic, and the design is absolutely adorable! ✔️ Application: I first tested it on the back of my hand. The texture was thicker than expected, requiring a firm squeeze. I was concerned it might be difficult to apply, but after gently massaging it a few times with my fingers, it spread surprisingly easily. The same was true when applying to my face! True to its 'essence sunscreen' name, it applies with a lovely hydrating feel. ✔️ White cast: As I'm prone to dark spots, I tend to apply sunscreen generously. Initially, when I applied a large amount, it seemed to leave a white cast. However, I quickly patted it in, and it absorbed rapidly! Once absorbed, the white cast disappears, leaving a subtle glow on the face. I love this aspect because when you apply makeup over it, the natural radiance makes your skin look beautiful. ✔️ Blemishes: My skin can react badly to some sunscreens, but this one didn't cause any blemishes! Perhaps it's because the ingredients are gentle enough for pregnant women to use. ✔️ Scent: It seems to be nearly fragrance-free! I didn't notice any bothersome scent while applying. ✔️ Overall: This is definitely a Hwahae favorite sunscreen! I think it's the best sunscreen to use before applying makeup. As an essence type, it creates a beautiful glow on the skin that maintains well even after applying makeup, without any pilling. I'm extremely satisfied with this product! The gentle ingredients allow for worry-free application without fear of blemishes, and the sun protection seems excellent.
