As someone with blemish-prone and combination dehydrated skin, my face easily turns red and becomes super sensitive with even the slightest irritation. However, this toner's cica and mugwort combination allowed for a gentle and clean application. The generous amount is fantastic - you can even use it as a toner mask when your skin feels irritated! Unlike other regular toners that didn't seem to soothe my skin, this one calms it down effectively. No blemishes appeared, and I think I'll be able to use it consistently as my daily toner.
ConsThere's really nothing bad to say, except maybe that the bottle cap is slightly large, making it a bit heavy.
TipI think using this with organic cotton pads would be great for application without causing any skin irritation.

I have delicate skin that tends to redden even after just cleansing, but since this comes in a large size, I'm able to generously soak my toner pads. I use it as a soothing mask before makeup on my reddened skin, and it works wonders. It seems to both replenish hydration and provide instant calming effects. In the evenings, I've been experimenting with mixing this toner with water for my modeling masks instead of just plain water. I've definitely noticed that using this toner in place of water for modeling masks amplifies both the moisturizing and soothing effects. I think I'll continue using it this way moving forward!
ConsWhile it's excellent as a Hwahae Tester pack, it's quite runny. When using it for a clay mask, it tends to drip everywhere... The floor ends up quite messy!

Refreshing finish: - As the first step in skincare, this toner absorbs well, allowing subsequent essence and cream layers without feeling heavy - great for oily skin - Using with half a cotton pad enhances the perfect level of hydration Generous size: - The large volume is excellent for multiple uses - as a basic toner, for skin packs, or as a finishing touch after modeling masks Subtle mugwort scent: - While it might not be for everyone, I enjoyed the subtle mugwort fragrance that gives a spa-like feel
ConsSoothing effect: - When used alone, it doesn't dramatically calm blemishes or provide an intense soothing effect
TipTry it as a soothing skin pack! - With its generous volume, using it with half a cotton pad allows for an efficient skin pack with minimal product - (After patch testing) Leaving the skin pack on areas needing soothing can help the ingredients absorb better For extra calming, follow up with an aloe pack! - Since toners are lightweight, using this exfoliating toner alone might have subtle effects. I found that applying this toner first, then following with an aloe soothing gel pack, prevented my closed comedones from worsening and helped them settle down

The redness noticeably decreased, and there was no tingling sensation at all. I appreciated that the toner had a water-like consistency and wasn't overly fragrant. The generous amount of product was fantastic - even with daily mask routines morning and night, there was plenty to go around. This was definitely my favorite aspect!
ConsIf I had to nitpick, the cap and opening were different from my previous product. The twist-open design was a bit inconvenient for me. But really, I'm reaching to find something negative here.
TipUsing it as a spot treatment on problem areas quickly calmed the skin. Applying it while drying my hair made my sunscreen go on more smoothly afterwards.

I usually prefer watery toners, and while this one has a slight viscosity, it still feels refreshingly hydrating like water on my skin. 2. The scent might be divisive, but as someone who enjoys herbal fragrances, it's right up my alley. 3. I love applying toner generously, so the generous volume is a big plus. 4. Given my sensitive complexion, harsh products often cause blemishes. However, this toner not only calms redness but also seems to cool down my skin. This is especially beneficial for me as I often work outdoors in hot weather, which tends to heat up my skin.
ConsThe price point is a bit on the higher side, and the fragrance might not appeal to everyone.
TipFor summer skin that feels overheated, try using this as a toner mask - it's great for bringing down skin temperature!

Plastic container with a standard opening. Texture and application: It's not a sticky skin, but a completely watery toner. After cleansing, it feels like it's refining the skin while providing instant hydration, which I found satisfying. There's usually a moment of dryness before applying serum, but with this toner, I felt it moisturized without being heavy. Scent: It has a strong mugwort scent. The intensity might be polarizing. I personally like it - while it's strong during application, most of it dissipates as it absorbs. Since it's not an artificial fragrance, it feels natural rather than overwhelming. Overall: This toner is great for refining the skin before starting your main skincare routine. As someone with redness and super sensitive skin, I appreciated its calming effect. It seemed to help control sebum production - I noticed less oil than usual.
ConsI haven't found any drawbacks yet. If I discover any later, I'll come back to update.
TipIt's great to use this toner after a modeling mask to refine the skin.

The volume is really large - I feel honored to receive this as part of The Hwahae Testers. Texture: It's a completely watery toner! After applying it twice, you feel a slight tightness. Usage Experience: Advantages: • Application: Despite being a watery toner, its large volume makes it great for use as a mask before makeup, especially during times when your skin feels hot (it would be great for summer too!). Soak a cotton pad and place it on your T-zone and forehead while you're getting dressed, then do your makeup - it works wonders! • It has a subtle mugwort and herbal scent with a slightly stronger mint aroma! After applying it to your face, the refreshing scent and cooling sensation are delightful! This makes me think it might be effective for pores too. • While I'm not sure about dramatic effects, the cooling sensation that reduces the heat in my face when using it was the biggest advantage for me. I think using this large volume throughout the summer might show some results. The cooling effect is fantastic, so I recommend it to anyone looking for a summer toner!
ConsI'm not sure about any drawbacks yet. If you don't like the feeling of very watery toners, you might want to consider purchasing the essence version instead.

It's so much that I think it'll last about 3 months if I use it diligently. That's why I love it so much! As someone with acne-prone skin, when I use this as an exfoliating toner and for toner masking, my skin doesn't feel tight, dehydrated, or experience more blemishes at all! It's really just perfect as an absolute basic, essential item! The completely watery texture makes it ideal for toner masking.
ConsI can't think of any downsides... It's perfect! Absolutely perfect...

First off, the texture was quite unique. It looks like it has almost no viscosity, like a watery toner, but when you apply it, you can feel a slippery sensation. It's as if you're coating your skin with thin soapy water, giving an instant smoothness to your complexion? Plus, there's a generous amount, making it great for a daily mask routine. I have combination skin leaning towards oily, without particular sensitivity, and I didn't find it irritating at all. However, as expected from a toner, even though it's a cica toner, I didn't notice any remarkable effects... Honestly, it seems like a decent, run-of-the-mill toner. It's not extremely hydrating, nor does it have incredibly potent ingredients... The good thing is you can use it liberally due to the large quantity.
ConsWhen applying, you can see the formula turning white. This happens even when I apply just one layer on bare skin, not layering, which made me wonder if the toner isn't absorbing well into the skin. Also, I found the scent quite strong. It's like the smell of mugwort sap when you cut into it? That kind of sour, herbal scent, which I personally disliked. It's okay when I dispense it onto my hands, but when I apply it directly to my face, the smell becomes bothersome.

It's not overpowering, but rather a healthy, natural scent that I personally find appealing. Texture: This toner has a slightly viscous consistency, not watery. It absorbs well into the skin and helps reduce redness. However, it can feel a bit sticky. Product: As a large-capacity toner, it should last for quite a while. The bottle isn't slippery, which is good, and the design leans towards a more practical, no-frills style. Ingredients: With mugwort as a key ingredient, I noticed it didn't cause any irritation or blemishes when applied. Instead, it seemed to soothe and balance my skin. I appreciate that it doesn't contain harsh ingredients, making it suitable as a foundational skincare product.
ConsLike most toners, I didn't notice any dramatic skin improvements or standout effects. Also, as someone with naturally oily skin, the slightly sticky texture might not be ideal for my skin type.
TipWhen using this Cica Mugwort Toner, it's best not to layer on too much emulsion or moisturizer afterwards. I think this could lead to excess oiliness, especially if you're planning to apply makeup on top.
