-Texture: It's a gel formula that lightly foams when it comes in contact with water (not a rich, dense foam type) -Scent: An artificial soap-like fragrance? I was slightly worried about potential irritation or breakouts when using it, but so far I haven't experienced any issues. Being a gel type, it doesn't leave my skin feeling tight after cleansing and keeps it hydrated, which I'm really happy about. With my combination dehydrated and super sensitive skin, cleansers that are too strong can actually damage my skin barrier while trying to cleanse thoroughly, leading to breakouts. In that regard, I feel I can use this cleanser with peace of mind. I haven't found any downsides yet. I'll need to use it more to see its effects on sebum and dead skin cells. However, it might not be strong enough to remove makeup on its own. Also, if you have oily skin and prefer a powerful cleanse with a squeaky-clean finish, you might find this slightly disappointing. This would work well as a second-step cleanser in your routine. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinJun 4, 2025
I really enjoyed using this cleansing gel as it was less irritating compared to the cleansing foams I frequently used before. The BHA ingredient was great for managing sebum and dead skin cells, so I used it with satisfaction! While it produces less foam than cleansing foams, its rich, dense lather was excellent for cleansing. My previous cleansing foam left my skin feeling a bit dry, but this cleansing gel caused less dryness and left my skin feeling smooth and silky. The foam isn't very abundant, so it seems better suited as a second-step cleanser. Since it contains BHA, I recommend using it every 2-3 days. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJun 4, 2025
Dense, Luxurious Lather With just a bit of water and gentle massaging, this cleanser creates a soft, rich lather. It allows for a gentle cleanse without irritating your skin. Fragrance-Free Formula Fragrances are often the enemy of acne-prone skin. Since they can trigger allergic reactions, the absence of fragrance is my top priority when choosing acne-fighting products. While you won't get that aromatic cleansing experience, you can use this product with peace of mind! Hydrating After-Cleanse Feel In my opinion, the biggest advantage of gel cleansers is how they leave your skin feeling moisturized even after washing. I loved how it didn't leave my dry skin feeling tight or stripped. Ideal for Light Cleansing This is more of a psychological thing, but when I want a deep cleanse, I prefer to double cleanse with an oil cleanser first. Using just a foam cleanser after wearing makeup makes me worry it won't remove everything. However, on days when I only wore sunscreen or a brightening moisturizer, I used this cleanser alone. It cleansed effectively without any issues. I believe accessibility and affordability are crucial for cleansing products, but this one feels a bit on the pricey side. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 4, 2025
I tried a gel cleanser for the first time, and true to its name, the transparent texture was quite intriguing. The foam wasn't exactly like whipped cream, but more like beaten egg whites, I'd say. There wasn't any particular scent to it. I usually prefer cleansers that leave my skin feeling squeaky clean, so I was a bit worried. But surprisingly, I found it quite nice! After washing, my face didn't feel super tight, but it wasn't slippery either. Instead, it felt refreshed with a noticeable boost in hydration. While it didn't completely eliminate sebum, even after one use, I noticed my skin felt smoother and some of the excess oil was definitely reduced. I think with consistent use, it could really help manage oily skin and uneven texture! This might not be the best choice for those who love that squeaky-clean feeling or are looking for a heavy-duty makeup remover. It's perfect for a gentle morning cleanse. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJun 4, 2025
I received the Hicle BHA Deep Pore Gel Cleanser as part of The Hwahae Testers program, and it's fantastic for managing pores and sebum! It's especially useful in summer when pores and oiliness become a concern. This cleanser uses a sebum-targeting system that effectively manages pores from the get-go. The BHA in the sebum-targeting system removes excess oil, while glycerin, a moisturizing ingredient, provides hydration. This system works to dissolve sebum and dead skin cells deep within the pores. The product contains an impressive 5000ppm of BHA, making it great for managing oiliness, sebum, and dead skin cells! The gel formula is lightweight with minimal stickiness. Unlike other exfoliating products that often leave skin feeling dry, this one doesn't cause any tightness and keeps the skin hydrated. It's also gentle, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin. With consistent use, you'll notice a reduction in blackheads and whiteheads, and an improvement in skin texture. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to manage their pores and sebum! One drawback is that on days when you wear color makeup or a full face, you'll need to follow up with a second cleanse after using this product. The cleansing effectiveness was slightly disappointing in this regard. Overall, I suggest using gentle circular motions when applying. For areas where you're particularly concerned about sebum or dead skin cells, like around the nose, use your fingertips to massage more thoroughly for better results! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinJun 4, 2025
Product reviewed by The Hwahae Testers: HYCL / BHA DEEP PORE GEL CLEANER Usage period: May 31 - June 4, 2025 (5 days) What I loved: When it comes to first-step cleansers, my expectations are: - No skin tightness after washing - No blemishes or irritation - Decent cleansing power for sebum and impurities In short, I want "a gentle yet effective cleanser that doesn't dry out the skin or cause blemishes!" (To be honest, on days when I wear makeup or sunscreen, I do a second cleanse anyway, so I just need the gel cleanser to do its basic job.) As someone who's been using foam cleansers since elementary school and has tried various types - foam, milk, balm, oil, and scrub - from different brands (like Manyo Factory, Whipped, Senka, C2Y, ATOMY, Happy Bath, etc.), I can say that the HYCL gel cleanser hits all the right notes. First, it didn't cause any irritation or blemishes. Second, it left my skin feeling clean without any tightness. (Though it didn't leave my skin feeling as soft and refined as Manyo Factory's cleanser. It just felt clean and smooth.) Lastly, its cleansing power was perfectly adequate for a first-step cleanser. I wasn't expecting it to dissolve blackheads or completely remove sebum, but it left my skin feeling thoroughly cleansed. In short, it's a well-rounded product! Room for improvement: This isn't really a negative, but it's worth noting: While the base scent is close to unscented, when you're massaging it on your face, you might notice a slight chemical smell. This is probably because it's so close to your nose. Just keep in mind that it's not a pleasant soapy scent. Tip: This was my first time using a gel cleanser. When I gently massaged it with my hands, it didn't lather up as much as a foam cleanser, but it did create some foam. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 4, 2025
Review of Hycl BHA Deep Pore Gel Cleanser I have dry combination + super sensitive + acne-prone skin, so I was looking for a gentle cleanser, and this one was just right. Thanks to the salicylic acid (BHA), it effectively clears out pores and removes dead skin cells. I was satisfied that even after cleansing, my skin feels moisturized without any deep dryness. The texture is smooth, and the scent is subtle. Even though my skin leans more towards dry than oily, I didn't experience any tightness. While the lather is minimal, which is a bit disappointing, it's gentle enough for daily use even on sensitive skin, which I appreciate. It cleanses blemish-prone areas gently without irritation. I've been using it morning and night as my second cleanser, and I've noticed my makeup applies better and my skin texture feels smoother. Overall Assessment: - Gentle on sensitive and acne-prone skin, effective for pore care - Recommended as a daily cleanser. Would repurchase. Summary: "A gentle gel cleanser that deeply cleanses pores without irritation - perfect for daily use" The downside is that it's difficult to remove heavy makeup in one go. However, since I usually use an oil cleanser first and this as a second cleanse, it works perfectly fine for me. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 4, 2025
I've been using this product every evening for my cleansing routine lately, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the results! My skin feels so much softer, and I've noticed fewer blemishes popping up. The gel formula is gentle yet effective, managing dead skin cells and sebum without any irritation. Its cleansing power is impressive too - even after my first cleanse, it leaves my skin feeling fresh and clean with no residue. The fragrance is so subtle it's practically unscented, making it perfect for those sensitive to artificial fragrances. After use, my skin feels hydrated rather than dry, which makes me think it would be great for sensitive or acne-prone skin. I especially love how the fine foam seems to deep-clean my pores, effectively tackling blackheads around my nose and leaving no foam residue behind. What's really impressed me is how, with continued use, I've noticed a significant reduction in dead skin cells and a smoother overall complexion. The ingredients are so gentle that I feel comfortable using it daily without any worries about irritation. I'm definitely considering repurchasing! I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone dealing with acne, sensitive skin, or general blemish concerns. • It may not be strong enough as a first cleanser, working better as a second step in a double cleansing routine. • The foam isn't very rich, which might leave you feeling like you're not getting a thorough cleanse. • I didn't notice any reduction in acne or improvement in oil control, and in some cases, it even seemed to cause blemishes. • Those with dry skin might experience some tightness after washing. • The finish is more slick than squeaky clean, which might not be everyone's cup of tea. For better exfoliation and pore care, try applying a small amount to dry skin instead of wet, gently massaging in circular motions. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJun 4, 2025
Sensitive skin boss with a blemish explosion and oily complexion Usually, my T-zone gets super greasy, and when I use a deep cleanser, it either dries me out too much or causes tiny bumps to appear. This product, however, doesn't make my skin feel tight and manages to wash away just the excess oil while keeping my skin hydrated. I've been using it morning and night, and I hardly reach for my old products anymore. Being a gel type, it feels a bit weak for removing makeup during a second cleanse. Of course, this might be because I'm using long-lasting products like Estée Lauder that are harder to remove. The foam is fine and dense, making it suitable for use any time, morning or night. I recommend using it with a cleansing brush for best results. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJun 4, 2025
✔ Skin Type: Combination / Blemish-prone / Sensitive eye area ✔ Usage Period: Over 2 weeks ✔ Texture: Gel type / Not overly foamy, but leaves a gentle lather ✔ Scent: Nearly fragrance-free, suitable for sensitive skin users ✔ Cleansing Effectiveness: Used as a second cleanser after makeup removal → Satisfactory cleansing power 🌿 Post-use Impressions: * I usually pay close attention to irritation and tightness when choosing cleansers. The Hycl BHA Deep Pore Gel Cleanser leaves my skin feeling soft without any discomfort. * I appreciated that my skin didn't feel dry or tight after washing, and despite my blemish-prone skin, I could use it gently without irritation. * While it's not an extremely foamy type, the gel texture actually feels less irritating and more comfortable. 💡 Overall Assessment: ✔ A mild and gentle gel cleanser suitable for blemish-prone and sensitive skin types ✔ While it may not dramatically improve pores or dead skin cells, it's perfect as a daily cleanser ✔ I didn't notice any significant drawbacks. I'd recommend this to those with sensitive skin who struggle to find suitable cleansers.
