My skin type is combination, leaning more towards combination dehydrated. When using a cleansing foam, I pay close attention to how my skin feels after washing, the cleansing effectiveness, and how well it removes dead skin cells and sebum. Here are the great things about using the Hycl BHA Cleanser: Ingredients The biggest advantage is that it doesn't contain any potentially irritating ingredients, so I can use it with confidence! I've had a few instances where I used cleansers thinking, "It's fine since I'm washing it off," only to end up with irritation and rashes. So now I always check the ingredients before buying, and I'm pleased with how gentle this cleanser's formula is. Cleansing effectiveness To be honest, this cleansing foam is best suited for skin that only has sunscreen on it. If you expect it to remove all your makeup, you might need to cleanse 3-4 times, and even then, glitter and mascara will likely remain. However, on hot summer days when I've only applied sunscreen, this cleanser alone is sufficient. Since I don't wear heavy makeup often, I find that it cleanses my skin thoroughly after a day of wearing just basic skincare and sunscreen. Post-cleanse feeling Some cleansing foams that claim to remove sebum can leave my face feeling tight and dry, which then leads to quick oil production. But this cleansing foam doesn't cause much dryness after use. I was pleased that it didn't leave my skin feeling tight at all. Dead skin cells and sebum removal While my skin doesn't have visibly noticeable dead skin cells or excess sebum, I do pay extra attention to whiteheads in my T-zone and dead skin cells on my cheeks. After about two weeks of use, I noticed that there was less dead skin build-up, and I could feel that my sebum was being softened to some extent. Lather It doesn't produce an extremely rich lather. However, if you squeeze out an appropriate amount and work it between your hands, it creates enough foam for a good cleanse. Overall impression This is a suitable cleanser for combination dehydrated or combination skin types. It's worth trying if you're concerned about dead skin cells or whiteheads! If you're wearing makeup, it's best to use this as a second cleanse after using makeup remover and cleansing tissues. I tried using it on one half of my face after a double cleanse and on the other half using only this foam cleanser. It didn't completely remove eye makeup or lip tints. If you prefer cleansing foams that produce a rich lather, this might not be a significant advantage for you. I don't mind as long as it cleanses well, so I used it without issues. The scent is close to unscented, but there's a somewhat strange "new product" smell. I'm extremely sensitive to smells, so I detect an odd chemical scent and hold my breath when lathering and massaging it on my face. This seems to be a personal issue though, as my boyfriend didn't notice much of a smell after using it. The foam isn't extremely rich! So if you use a foaming net and work up a good lather, it could become a very satisfying cleansing foam. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMay 29, 2025
Skin Type: Combination 🚨 My usual concern: Pores and excess sebum 🚨 Product texture and feel: Hycl's BHA Deep Pore Gel Cleanser is a product that nails both cleansing effectiveness and gentleness! With its gel texture, it feels incredibly lightweight on the skin. After use, I felt refreshed and my skin felt clean. It seemed to clear out impurities and sebum from my pores without any irritation, making it a comfortable product for daily use. I found it particularly effective in reducing visible dead skin cells and whiteheads around my nose. Plus, my skin didn't feel tight after cleansing, which worked well for me! However, it's not a heavy-duty or rich-lathering type like some cleansing foams, so it fell a bit short in terms of completely removing base makeup. When I wore heavy makeup, I definitely needed a separate makeup remover or first cleanse. This product alone didn't give me that "all my makeup is gone!" feeling, unfortunately. Overall Assessment: ✔️ Pros: Gentle gel formula, excellent at clearing sebum and dead skin cells, no tightness after cleansing ❌ Cons: Somewhat weak for makeup removal (first cleanse essential) Recommended for those who want to focus on clearing out pores or desire a non-irritating daily cleanser! It's gentle enough for sensitive skin, so with consistent use, I think satisfaction levels will likely increase over time! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinMay 22, 2025
Deep dryness? Not with this gem! ✨ Let me introduce you to a BHA gel cleanser that leaves your skin feeling fresh without any tightness. This product is gentle due to its gel texture, and it contains a whopping 5,000ppm of BHA to softly exfoliate dead skin cells and regulate sebum. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I found it quite satisfying. 💘 The Experience 💘 ✨ The gel consistency feels slightly runny when first squeezed out. When rubbed between your hands, it creates a moderate, soft lather - not overly foamy. ✨ The foam is just right for gliding over your face effortlessly. Plus, it's practically fragrance-free! Those with super sensitive skin can use it without worry. ✨ Perhaps thanks to the tea tree oil, my skin felt refreshed after cleansing, and it seemed to help with blemish control too. ✨ The lack of tightness post-cleanse was a huge plus. Usually, my cheeks feel tight right after washing, but with this product, there's a lingering moistness even after patting dry. A cleanser that doesn't have you running to your skincare routine? That's love, darling! ✨ With continued use, I noticed smoother skin texture and less visible blackheads. While it won't make pores disappear entirely, you can feel it effectively managing oil during cleansing. It was perfect for my combination skin, especially around the oily T-zone. 💘 Who Should Try This? 💘 ✔ Those with sensitive or combination dehydrated skin ✔ Anyone seeking a cleanser that doesn't cause deep dryness ✔ Fragrance-free skincare enthusiasts ✔ Tea tree ingredient lovers ✔ Those who can't resist pretty packaging 🙋♀️ 💘 Final Thoughts 💘 With the humid weather and increased oil production lately, this BHA Deep Pore Gel Cleanser has been a godsend. It regulates sebum without irritation while keeping skin hydrated - I'm truly impressed! It's perfect for those wanting a daily cleanser that's gentle yet effective. Repurchase intention: 100% Being a gel type, it's not quite up to the task of removing heavy makeup. On days with full glam, I'd recommend starting with an oil cleanser before finishing up with this product. It struggles to tackle color cosmetics on its own. ✨ For targeted pore care, try using it after opening your pores with lukewarm water ✨ Gentle enough for morning cleansing too, so you can easily use it twice daily! - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinMay 21, 2025
•Effective for removing excess oil and dead skin cells: Contains BHA which gently exfoliates pores and removes dead skin cells. After use, my skin felt smooth and clean. •Gentle on skin: As someone with sensitive skin, I could use this without irritation. Even after cleansing, my skin didn't feel tight and maintained a hydrated feeling. •Lightweight formula and fragrance-free: The gel-type formula applies smoothly to the skin. With no artificial fragrances, it's suitable for those sensitive to scents. •Limited lather: Those who prefer a rich foam might find the minimal lather disappointing. •Insufficient makeup removal: It didn't completely remove heavy makeup, so I needed to use a separate remover. •Value for money: The amount of product feels small compared to the price, which might make repurchasing a tough decision. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 9, 2025
Texture: The gel-type texture adheres gently to the skin without feeling sticky or overly thick. It doesn't produce an abundance of foam, but rather creates a fine, soft lather that feels less irritating during cleansing. Scent: There's barely any fragrance, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin. Even as someone who's sensitive to scents, I found it didn't bother me at all. Cleansing Power & Feel: While the cleansing power is on the gentler side, it contains salicylic acid which helps care for impurities. Instead of leaving your skin feeling squeaky clean, it finishes with a moisturized and soft feel, likely making it a good match for dry or sensitive skin types. It worked perfectly on days when I sweated a lot or wanted to gently exfoliate, rather than on heavy makeup days. Blemish Response: I had been worried about some blemishes along my jawline recently, but I was pleased to find that with daily use, it seemed to calm the troubled areas without causing irritation. I've been using it about 3 times a week, and my skin condition hasn't deteriorated - if anything, it seems more stable. Points for Improvement: • It produces less foam, which might disappoint those who prefer a rich, bubbly cleanse. • The cleansing power is gentle, so it won't remove heavy makeup in one go. You'll need to use an additional cleansing product for that. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 30, 2025
First, my skin type: Sensitive combination dehydrated skin (recently my skin flared up again, so it's super sensitive... extremely dry, but when I wake up in the morning, it's an oil explosion) Overall impression: A slippery cleansing foam that's good at removing dead skin cells and sebum, but has moderate cleansing effectiveness for makeup Advantage 1) Sebum removal It lives up to its main product description of 'sebum reduction with just one use'. My oil and moisture balance has been off lately, causing excessive oiliness around my nose in the morning, so I use this cleansing foam for my morning cleanse. Even after one use, you can see in the photo how much sebum around the nose has been cleared! Advantage 2) Slippery texture The formula itself is slippery, so you need to rinse several times! It gives a feeling of thorough cleansing. Advantage 3) Ingredients -It's clean 1. Cleansing effectiveness... It doesn't remove waterproof sunscreen well. Because it's less effective at cleansing, you end up rubbing harder, which seems to irritate the skin more. Not recommended for sensitive skin. 2. Irritation? Since it's a product that removes dead skin cells and sebum, it seems to cause some irritation. It's probably best to adjust the frequency of use to about 3 times a week. I'll update this review (if I remember) after my skin improves a bit. For sensitive skin, use 2-3 times a week. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 30, 2025
As someone with combination skin leaning towards oily, I've always struggled with pores and excess sebum. Especially in summer, when my skin gets oilier, I'm very particular about cleansers. I'm here to share my honest review of the Hycl BHA Deep Pore Gel Cleanser. 1. It's incredibly effective at clearing pores and removing excess oil. After just one wash, I noticed a significant reduction in blackheads around my nose and chin. After a few days, it seemed to even reduce sebum production. 2. There's almost no tightness after cleansing. I was worried about irritation due to the BHA, but surprisingly, it's very gentle. My skin doesn't feel dry after washing, and my complexion feels smoother. 3. It seems to help calm blemishes. The small bumps that kept appearing on my forehead have settled down. With consistent use, I believe it definitely aids in managing breakouts. 1. As some people have mentioned, it doesn't produce a rich lather. Unlike typical foam cleansers, it has a slightly slippery texture when rubbed between hands, which might make you feel like you haven't cleansed thoroughly. 2. It may not be sufficient for removing heavy makeup. Being a gentle cleanser, it struggles with intense makeup, so you'll need a separate makeup remover. I used this product as my second cleanse after removing my makeup. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinApr 30, 2025
As the weather keeps getting hotter, I've become more concerned about managing my sebum and pores. If I don't take care of my pores, blemishes pop up immediately, and even with a thorough skincare routine, my makeup doesn't sit well. Although I have oily skin, I often experience some flakiness and dryness in summer. This product is so hydrating that it calms my skin and seems to have reduced dead skin cells significantly. Previously, even after thorough cleansing in the morning, by evening my face would be oily, with sebum constantly forming, which was stressful. After using this, it seems like less oil comes to the surface. I've heard that my skin issues were due to poor oil control, but this product seems to manage oil so well. It's great that I can manage sebum and dead skin cells without professional treatments. Just one use noticeably removes excess sebum, shine, and flaking dead skin cells. After using this, my skin calmed down a lot. My forehead used to be very bumpy, but it's become smooth, and my makeup applies so much better now. The foam lathers really well and isn't irritating, which I love. The price itself feels a bit burdensome for me, and I'd hesitate to recommend it to those with sensitive or dry skin. Also, when using waterproof products, this alone won't remove them completely, so you'll need to use a makeup remover first before cleansing. In the morning, I use a gentle cleansing foam, but I mainly used this product in the evening. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 19, 2025
Texture and Feel: It has the typical gel texture and feels nice and firm. Unlike most BHA foam cleansers that leave skin feeling squeaky clean, this one leaves your skin feeling moisturized, which really shows how gentle it is. Sensitivity: I have sensitive, blemish-prone skin, but I didn't experience any irritation, breakouts, or sensitivity while using this product. And that's despite its exfoliating properties! Scent: I actually preferred that it's fragrance-free. It feels like they focused on gentleness and effectiveness rather than adding unnecessary fragrances. Packaging: The transparent packaging is great for checking how much product is left. The orange-tinted gel looks so pretty in the bathroom - it's a mood booster! I also love the generous amount, so you can use it liberally. Effectiveness: It seems to help with dead skin cells to some extent, but like most cleansing foams, it's not that effective for blackheads. Physical removal with X-emulsion seems to be the most effective method for those. Still, using this daily for gentle exfoliation could really help reduce blemishes. I loved how moisturizing and gentle it is! There's hardly any feeling of dryness after washing. It doesn't lather as richly as you might expect, but that's common for gel-type foam cleansers and wasn't really an issue for me. When wearing makeup, you'll definitely need to use a first cleanser before this one. Since it's a gentle product, it won't effectively remove waterproof products like mascara or eyeliner. Like other gel cleansers I've tried, if you don't close the cap tightly, the gel will leak out. You really have to double-check the cap. Personally, I think a pump-type container might work better for this formula. Even though it's gentle, it still contains exfoliating ingredients (BHA). To avoid overdoing it, I only use it in the evening and use a low pH foam cleanser in the morning. This routine seems to strike a good balance! - Hwahae UserDry SkinApr 17, 2025
Hycle BAHA Deep Pore Gel Cleanser As a selected member of The Hwahae Testers, I'm writing this review after using the product for over a week. ✨ Smooth skin texture after use Unlike other brands that leave my skin feeling dry and tight, this product leaves my skin soft and incredibly smooth. It seems to control sebum well, and after washing, I can visibly see my skin looking radiant and improved. It's amazingly dramatic, almost like using a steroid - the change is so noticeable! ✨ Dead skin cell control I used to have a lot of dead skin cells, especially during seasonal changes. But since using this product, the occurrence of flaky skin has significantly decreased! I've had blemishes and acne-like spots under my chin for months, and while the acne is still there, there's noticeably less dead skin buildup around those areas since using this product. I always did my skincare routine followed by sunscreen, base, and cushion, but before, makeup wouldn't absorb well around the acne areas, causing it to look patchy with visible dead skin. After using this product, that issue has improved considerably. ✨ Satisfied with cleansing (except for color makeup) It seems to remove sebum, oil, blackheads, and fine dust without irritating the skin. There's less deep dryness, and I think it would be great for both dry skin types like mine and those with oily skin. 💫 Color makeup removal & eye irritation I experienced some eye irritation when using this product, which made it difficult to use for extended periods. To work around this, I would lather the gel cleanser in my hands to create as much foam as possible and then cleanse quickly. As it's a blemish-focused cleanser, its cleansing power for makeup is somewhat lower, but it does have a slight skin-soothing effect. Apart from these two points, I didn't have any other complaints! For those who wear heavy makeup, I'd recommend using this as the final step in a double cleansing routine. I primarily used this product as the final step in my double cleansing routine or as my morning cleanser.
