♡ Hicle BHA Deep Pore Gel Cleanser ♡ Product Description: Helps soothe acne-prone skin Thoroughly removes excess sebum and dead skin cells, leaving skin moisturized An acne-fighting gel cleanser ♡ Texture: As the name suggests, a transparent gel (slightly runny) ♡ Scent: Fragrance-free ♡ Efficacy: HR.. Immediate delivery of benefits SR.. Continuous delivery of benefits ER.. Gradual delivery of benefits ♡ Cleansing Power: Effectively removes regular sunscreen and brightening moisturizer in one wash Leaves skin feeling clean Tested on waterproof makeup for thoroughness Doesn't remove waterproof makeup well ♡ Creates a moderate amount of foam when mixed with water (not too little, not too much) ♡ Used together with my teenage daughter who has acne-prone skin Immediately noticeable effects: skin feels smoother and softer Reduces bumpiness under the chin Seems to cleanse sebum better than the previous gentle foam cleanser we used ♡ As it's formulated for acne-prone skin, it doesn't remove waterproof makeup in one go Skin becomes red when rubbed too much during repeated cleansing Those with sensitive or delicate skin should patch test before use ♡ Suitable for light cleansing once For full makeup or heavier application, best used as a second cleanse after initial makeup removal ♡ As it contains BHA, be sure to apply a moisturizer after use for best results - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJun 2, 2025
I've been wanting to try a gel cleanser, and thanks to The Hwahae Testers, I finally got the chance! Let me give you my honest review: Cleansing effectiveness: I recommend using this as a second cleanse after your initial makeup removal. Since it's mildly alkaline rather than strongly alkaline, it might not be able to completely remove makeup or sunscreen on its own. Also, being mildly alkaline means it's more focused on addressing blemishes than deep cleansing, so those with very oily skin and excessive sebum might find it a bit lacking. Recommended skin types: This works well for oily and combination dehydrated skin types. It removes just the right amount of oil and residue. If you have very dry skin, you might want to opt for a slightly acidic cleanser instead. For those with extremely oily skin, a more alkaline cleanser might be better suited. Also, since this cleansing foam contains BHA, those with super sensitive skin might experience some irritation. Unfortunately, after using it for about 3 days, I noticed small red blemishes appearing, so I had to stop. I'm not sure why, but even after taking a break and letting my skin recover, I tried again and the blemishes reappeared within a day. It seems this product doesn't agree with my skin! This produces way more foam than regular cleansing foams! You don't have to work hard to create a lather, which is a plus. For those with dry skin, if you find it works well for you after testing, you could use it once or twice a week as a gentle exfoliant to remove dead skin cells. Since it's mildly alkaline rather than strongly alkaline, its cleansing power isn't too harsh. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJun 2, 2025
Hwahae Hicle BHA Deep Pore Gel Cleanser Skin type: Combination dehydrated (almost oily!) Rating: 4 stars! Texture: The gel-like texture didn't promise much lather, which I expected. However, it did create a slight foamy texture, allowing me to gently massage it around my nose and chin areas. It turned out better than I thought! Scent: It's fragrance-free! I appreciate this as it won't be divisive among users. Pros: Despite my combination dehydrated skin that usually feels tight after cleansing, this product worked surprisingly well for me. I didn't experience any deep dryness after washing. I had some textural issues around my nose area, but with regular use, I noticed a significant reduction. It definitely showed results for me. Compared to other cleansing foams, my skin felt noticeably smoother. Perhaps due to its high BHA content, it seemed to fade acne scars and quickly calm active blemishes. Lastly, I liked that it didn't strip away too much oil, avoiding that squeaky-clean feeling. Cleansing effectiveness: As someone who typically uses BB cream or sunscreen, I found the cleansing power satisfactory. It's clearly not designed primarily for makeup removal, so it should work well for those who don't wear heavy makeup. If you wear full coverage foundation regularly, you might need to double cleanse. Cons: Due to its high BHA content, it might be challenging for those with super sensitive skin. After applying my usual skincare routine, I felt a slight burning sensation on my face after some time. This warming effect was a bit disappointing. While it wasn't severely painful, I think it might be too much for those with more sensitive skin than mine. For those who find it doesn't lather well, there's a bubble maker sold at Daiso. Just shake it up and down a few times, and it creates a nice, fluffy foam. I found it very convenient to use! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinMay 29, 2025
I had high hopes for this product, as it claimed to help with sebum control and pore care. Here's my take: Scent: It's supposed to be unscented, but there's a subtle artificial smell. It's not a pleasant fragrance added intentionally, but rather a faint synthetic odor. If you're sensitive to scents, you might notice it. Lather: The foam is fine and soft, creating a plentiful lather. If you're expecting a rich, creamy foam, you might be disappointed. However, when you add water and work it up, it creates a smooth, satisfying lather that I enjoyed using. Cleansing power: Works well as a second cleanser without being harsh. After trying it out, I didn't find the cleansing power to be particularly strong. It might be a bit lacking as a standalone cleanser, so I'd recommend using it as your second step in a double cleanse routine. Sebum and pores: Hmm... I'm not convinced. While they advertise benefits like sebum control and pore tightening, I personally didn't notice much difference. I have normal skin, so that might be why I didn't see results. Those with oily skin might have a different experience. Blemishes: I developed some bumpy texture on my cheeks. I kept my entire skincare routine the same, only switching to this product as my second cleanser. After a few days of daily use, I noticed some small bumps appearing on my cheeks. Since nothing else changed in my routine, I suspect this product might be the cause. Update (May 31): After using this product, I experienced some bumpy texture and roughness on both cheeks. It wasn't super noticeable to the naked eye, but I've never had this issue before, so it was quite stressful. Since writing my initial review, I stopped using this cleanser and went back to my previous products. After about 3 days, I started to see improvement. If you have sensitive skin like me, you might want to be cautious. Instead of using it daily, it might be better to use it less frequently to avoid potential irritation. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 28, 2025
I have combination dehydrated and sensitive skin, prone to hormonal acne. Given its gel texture, it doesn't produce an extremely rich or abundant lather. However, it still foams up nicely with just your hands. For those craving a more luxurious foam, using a cleansing tool would be ideal. There's no added fragrance, so it has a subtle scent reminiscent of plain soap or dish detergent. This aspect might be hit-or-miss for some users. The transparent bottle is great for easily checking how much product is left. Being mildly alkaline, it could work well for daily use, morning and night, if it suits your skin. Compared to more alkaline cleansers, it doesn't leave your skin feeling squeaky clean, but it does maintain a nice level of hydration. For those of us with acne-prone skin who want to use an alkaline cleanser but are wary of harsh products, this could be a good option. I noticed my dead skin cells were smoothed away after just two uses. If you use it daily, you might not need a separate exfoliator. This product seems particularly suitable for those with oily skin looking to reduce excess sebum. It may be too irritating for those with very sensitive skin to use on a daily basis. I thought it was a low pH product and used it twice a day for two days, but I broke out with small blemishes. I suspect it might be because it's actually alkaline. While it's described as mildly alkaline, I usually get blemishes when using alkaline products. So it's probably not an issue with the product itself, but rather that it doesn't suit my skin type. I wasn't sure if my breakout was due to this product, so I tried it again after a week. Unfortunately, my skin became red and itchy. This product might disappoint those looking for a first-step cleanser to remove makeup. For makeup removal, I'd recommend using a more effective first cleanser like an oil cleanser, cleansing tissue, balm, or micellar water. This product would be better suited as a second-step cleanser or for daily use when not wearing makeup. When choosing a cleanser, it's important to consider your skin type and specific needs. While this product may work well for some, especially those with oily or combination skin, it might not be suitable for everyone. Always patch test new products and introduce them gradually into your skincare routine to monitor how your skin reacts. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMay 27, 2025
Here's my review as one of The Hwahae Testers: • The cleansing effectiveness is great! • The foam has tiny, delicate bubbles that feel gentle when massaging the face. • The texture is more slippery than rich. It doesn't lather as much as other foam cleansers, but when used with a foam maker, it transforms into a luxuriously rich lather. I recommend using a foam maker instead of lathering by hand. • The scent is nearly fragrance-free. There's a slight unique scent, but it wasn't bothersome to me. • The design and color are so pretty! It felt like touching aloe gel. • Even while using this, my skin still broke out as usual during the seasonal change. Blemishes and small pimples popped up between my eyebrows and on my left cheek. I was hoping it might prevent this, but I haven't seen much effect yet. • As I have dry skin, my face feels dry after use. Using it in the morning might disrupt the oil and moisture balance. Using a foam maker will double your happiness! I recommend using it in the evening rather than in the morning. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 27, 2025
I'm in my 30s with dry skin. While I'm not extremely sensitive, I do avoid harsh products. I exfoliate less than twice every two weeks and only double cleanse when I wear makeup, which isn't heavy. That's why I found using this foam cleanser with active ingredients daily a bit too intense for me! Scent: Nothing particularly unpleasant. Just okay! Texture: Clear gel-like consistency that lathers well. Cleanses effectively! However, it doesn't produce an ultra-rich, dense foam. Cleansing power: Leaves skin feeling clean but not stripped. Removes makeup well enough for me! Recommended skin type: Definitely better suited for oily or combination skin types rather than dry! Could be great for acne-prone skin too! Tip: If you have sensitive skin, try using it a few times a week instead of daily. It does have active ingredients after all! When I used it every day, I noticed some small bumps appearing on my skin. Seems like it was a bit too irritating! While the feel was nice, using it too frequently might compromise your skin barrier. Since it contains BHA for exfoliation, it's important to use it at the right time and follow up with proper care to really benefit your skin. With thorough post-cleansing care, this could be an excellent exfoliating cleanser! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 27, 2025
✨ Moisturizing finish Unlike foam cleansers that leave your skin feeling squeaky clean, this product gives a soft, velvety finish - almost like using a peeling gel. As someone with dry skin, I'm not a fan of cleansers that leave my face feeling parched. This one, however, leaves my skin feeling hydrated and smooth. ✨ Makeup applies beautifully With its exfoliating ingredients, this convenient product eliminates the need for a separate peeling gel. I definitely noticed less patchiness when applying makeup compared to my usual routine. As the weather gets warmer, makeup tends to break down and emphasize dead skin cells, but this cleanser has eliminated those issues. I'm thrilled with the results! This was my first time trying a BHA product, and I'm not sure if my skin just couldn't adapt to it. After using it for over a week, my face became itchy and developed redness. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin, and while this product is supposed to be effective for blemishes, I'm not convinced about its exceptional results. Since this cleansing foam provides exfoliation, it's best to follow up with a generous application of moisturizer after washing your face. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 9, 2025
I have combination dehydrated skin. After using a cleansing water, I typically use a mildly alkaline foam cleanser as my second cleanser. This time, I decided to try the Hycl product. (I used it consistently morning and evening for two full weeks.) First off, the transparent tube with the grapefruit-colored gel is absolutely gorgeous! My initial impression was fantastic~ It reminded me of how my skin felt when I used the once-trendy egg pore soap. My skin became incredibly soft with an 'Inner Glow' like a peeled egg. When my new cleansing water didn't arrive (due to a long holiday), I tried using this product alone as my second cleanser, and it removed makeup effectively. I've tried several BHA products, but this one was particularly gentle and non-irritating. After cleansing, when I applied my usual skincare routine, my skin felt drier than before. I experienced deep dryness. After about a week, possibly due to the dryness, my wrinkles became more noticeable after applying makeup, and my skin looked a bit patchy... Oil also surfaced quickly... When I used this product alone for cleansing (without cleansing water), it removed makeup thoroughly, but it seemed to leave some residue as I developed small bumps. (Once I started using cleansing water again and this only as a second cleanser, my skin immediately improved) Despite thorough cleansing, it couldn't remove the deeply embedded whiteheads around my nose wings or philtrum, and it didn't improve my uneven skin texture. After two weeks of use, I decided to use it only as a second cleanser after cleansing water in my evening routine. With consistent use, my skin became dry and I felt like my skin barrier was weakening. Overall, this product seems to have the typical pros and cons of AHA/BHA products. (Oil removal, smooth and soft feel / loose foam, deep dryness) I think those with oily skin might be satisfied if they find the right way to use it for their skin type. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 9, 2025
Product name: Hicle BHA Deep Pore Gel Cleanser Usage period: One week Skin type: Oily + Sensitive skin Review: First off, I was intrigued by the transparent tube packaging when I received it. It's great for checking how much product is left, and the beautiful color lifted my spirits. As someone who generally prefers gel cleansers and has tried various types, I found this one to have a slightly thinner and lighter texture compared to others. This actually made it easier to apply. It lathers up well with just a bit of water, though as typical of gel cleansers, it doesn't foam up as much as regular foam cleansers. The cleansing effectiveness was excellent, even after wearing makeup or sunscreen. After rinsing, my skin didn't feel squeaky clean, but had a slightly slick feeling. I actually prefer this, as products that leave my skin feeling too 'clean' often make it feel dry and tight afterwards. There was definitely no feeling of dryness or tightness after use. The dead skin cell removal effect was noticeable. After cleansing, my skin felt smooth and like a layer of dead skin had been cleared away. However, due to the high BHA content, using it daily did feel a bit harsh. For those with super sensitive skin, it might be best to use this just once or twice a week as an exfoliating treatment. Overall, if you don't overuse it and stick to an appropriate frequency, this seems like a great product for when you need to tackle dead skin cells. I'm satisfied! I think I might have used it too frequently at first, which caused some blemishes to appear. It's not really an issue with the product itself, but rather due to its high BHA content, overuse can lead to skin irritation. I found it worked well when I limited use to 1-2 times a week when I needed exfoliation. If you slightly dampen your hands before use, it creates a richer lather, making cleansing much easier!
