The packaging and design were decent, and it was convenient that it could stand upright. The volume felt neither too much nor too little, though it might not be the most cost-effective option. The texture was like a typical cream - not too heavy, and it applied smoothly with a moisturizing feel. However, it had a slightly oily finish that I didn't particularly like, although it did eventually absorb. The scent was close to fragrance-free. The product itself felt a bit greasy, and while it provided good hydration, I found the finish a bit overwhelming for my combination dehydrated skin with oily T-zone and visible pores. Those with similar skin types or oily skin might find it too shiny. It might be better suited for those with dry skin! Given its characteristics and pore-clogging ingredients, certain skin types could potentially experience blemishes. Those with super sensitive skin might want to avoid this product. Due to its pore-clogging ingredients and oily, slippery finish, I wouldn't particularly recommend this product for those with oily or combination dehydrated skin. Especially with summer approaching, it might only be usable in winter. Moreover, I'm not sure about its effectiveness, and the uncomfortable feeling outweighs any benefits. Personally, I'd opt for a different hydrating moisturizer. Unless you have dry skin, I'd recommend using a different product or using this one sparingly if you decide to try it. It might be slightly better for nighttime use rather than during the day. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 9, 2025
✔️ As someone with combination dehydrated skin whose skin barrier gets wrecked every season change, I've been a cream nomad unable to find the right fit. ✔️ Creams that are either too low in hydration or too rich in oils often lead to blemishes the next day, making me hesitant to use them. However, this cream instantly felt like it had the perfect oil and moisture balance, leaving my skin feeling incredibly comfortable. ✔️ During the tail end of the seasonal transition when it's starting to warm up, it's tricky to choose between thick or light creams. This one hits the sweet spot in between, which I think is why my skin felt so at ease. ✔️ From April to May, I've been using semi-matte foundations or cushions, which always made my deep dryness feel worse. But since using this cream, my makeup doesn't cake at all and I don't feel any dryness. ✔️ I'm so satisfied that I'm willing to repurchase regardless of the price for the seasonal transitions. Everything's great, but it's a shame it contains pore-clogging ingredients. That's why I feel hesitant to apply it generously on my forehead, though my cheeks are fine. (Still, I haven't experienced any blemishes!) This cream seems great for dry and combination dehydrated skin types. It's suitable for winter and seasonal transitions. While it might feel a bit heavy for summer, I think it could work if you pare down your skincare routine and apply it thinly. It adheres well to the skin, preventing dryness, makeup pilling, and caking - which is fantastic. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinMay 8, 2025
I won the chance to be part of The Hwahae Testers for COSRX, so here's my review! I have combination dehydrated skin that's prone to deep dryness, and during seasonal changes, the area around my nose gets red and itchy. This means I need to be extra diligent with hydration and moisture. At first application, it felt rich and oily, but it spread as creamily as a hydrating moisturizer. I loved that it was fragrance-free. Although it felt quite rich, it didn't leave a heavy feeling after application. Instead, it felt refreshingly light, which I really appreciated. However, I found that applying it thinly twice worked best for my skin, rather than using too much at once. I only used it at night, and while I can't be certain it was solely due to this product, my skin texture seemed smoother, and my deep dryness and itchiness were significantly reduced. I wouldn't recommend this for oily skin types, but it's great for combination and dry skin! I mainly applied it multiple times on my cheeks before bed, but I noticed that if I applied too much on my nose and chin areas, it seemed to increase oiliness and potentially cause more blemishes. It's disappointing that it didn't seem to improve redness, despite claims of pore-refining ingredients. Also, while it feels rich, it doesn't provide as much hydration as I'd like. It feels a bit lacking in moisture for nighttime use, yet too heavy for morning application, making it an awkward product to fit into my routine. Because of these factors, I probably won't repurchase it. Before applying this cream, use a product that's packed with hydration, then layer this on thinly twice. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 2, 2025
When I applied it, there was absolutely no irritation. It had a smooth application and didn't cause any dryness at all. However, the next day I developed large blemishes that looked like clumps of sebum. Looking at the ingredients, I noticed there were some pore-clogging components. It seems those ingredients might have blocked my sebaceous glands. I had such high hopes when I requested this product, thinking it would suit my skin, so I'm incredibly disappointed. Those with combination dehydrated skin prone to excess oil production like me should be cautious when using this. Especially if you're someone whose face becomes extremely oily after applying makeup. I stopped using it after just one day. I'd like to try it more, but those blemishes that form like lumps of trapped sebum... I don't have the courage to deal with them. So I can't continue using it. Although I didn't feel any tingling or irritation, it's such a shame. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 1, 2025
This is a detailed review from a Hwahae Tester with combination dehydrated skin, trying a COSRX product for the first time. Right off the bat, I was impressed by the inclusion of a pamphlet and thin paper insert, reminiscent of pharmacy-bought products. It gave me the impression of purchasing a highly specialized item. Upon checking the ingredients, I noticed some unfamiliar ones, and after reading another review mentioning pore-clogging components, I had a moment of concern. Texture: Ointment-like consistency. Application: ★★★★★ Incredibly smooth, though it reminds me of skincare products older generations might use. It feels like a meticulously crafted ointment - thin, non-greasy, and carefully formulated. Using this product gives me the sensation of applying pharmacy-grade skincare. Absorption: ★★★☆☆ I'd say it's on the thicker side. After applying with one hand, I use both hands to aid absorption (and secretly redistribute excess product while speeding up the process). This seems to help it sink into the skin a bit faster. Every application reminds me of Vaseline and those body products that come in tubs. It also feels a bit like applying lip balm to your face, which made me curious about using it on my lips. Overall, I think this product is best suited for seasonal changes or winter use on my skin type. While it's marketed for all ages and genders, its effectiveness will likely vary depending on individual skin types. I'm not sure if it's a must-buy for me yet. I'll update my review after trying it during the changing seasons and winter months. Those who don't tolerate oiliness well may experience blemishes. It seems these highly moisturizing products can't be used year-round (despite my wishes). Apparently, it contains ingredients that can clog pores, which is somewhat disappointing. I always wash my hands after applying skincare products. After using this and rinsing with water, I could really feel how well it moisturized. My hands felt as if I'd applied hand cream - what's this glossy glow? Everyone, make sure to moisturize properly (I do this every time because I dislike stickiness). - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinApr 29, 2025
I've been using COSRX's Niacinamide Serum with great results, so when I heard they released a barrier cream, I was curious and excited to try it out. 〰 I have extremely oily skin 〰 Which means I'm constantly battling blemishes ❤️ It has a nice texture Applies smoothly. Can't think of any other positives though... 💔 Feels like it's clogging my pores It has that distinctive feeling of an oily film, similar to products containing silicone-based oils. As soon as I applied it, I thought, 'Wait, is this blocking my pores?' I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt since it's a barrier cream, but... 💔 Acne breakouts My fears were confirmed. My skin broke out so badly that my 'before' photo became irrelevant. I developed a wide range of blemishes, from pustules to folliculitis, forcing me to stop using it after just three days. If you don't have dry skin, I'd be wary of using this in summer as it might clog all your pores. I've tucked it away in my product drawer, planning to use it in winter when I need extra hydration. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 25, 2025
I've been using the Secolgi (Ceramide + Collagen + Fatty Acids) essence and cream since last winter, and I absolutely love them. However, my original cream had a thick texture and felt heavy for use outside of winter. So, I was looking for another Secolgi cream when I found this COSRX product. It has great ingredients and a creamy texture that seems perfect for year-round use. The Secolgi ingredients are great for the skin barrier, which seems to have improved my skin's tendency to redden easily. The hydration also lasts well. I have sensitive skin, and high-moisture creams usually just create an oily film that feels stuffy and itchy, leading to blemishes. But this Secolgi cream manages to address dead skin cells and deep dryness to some extent while being gentle enough not to cause any irritation. As you can see in the photo, it has a creamy texture that absorbs well. A small amount spreads widely, so it's easy to adjust the quantity based on your skin type and needs. It's a bit rich, so in the evening I apply it generously except on my T-zone. In the morning, I apply a thin layer to prevent pilling with sunscreen or makeup. It comes in a tube rather than a jar, which is more hygienic. The one-touch cap makes it easy to use, rather than a screw-top container. Unless you have extremely dry skin or it's the dead of winter, this gentle cream is great for year-round use with adjustable application. Like other Secolgi essences and creams, this product can be irritating if applied too close to the eyes, causing blurred vision. While the ingredients are gentle and don't cause blemishes, it does contain some pore-clogging ingredients. If applied too generously, it can sometimes cause itching. As a tip, if you apply a thin layer and let it absorb as the final step of your skincare routine before makeup, even matte cushions are less likely to flake or feel tight due to dead skin cells. If you feel it's itchy or too rich, try applying a thinner layer. It absorbs so well that you can cover your entire face with much less product than you might use with other creams. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinApr 18, 2025
Absorbs exceptionally well and provides excellent hydration. The most surprising aspect was how it maintained moisture for a full 12 hours after application. True to its name, it's creamy yet hydrating. It's not too thick, so it spreads evenly without any patchiness. A big plus is that it doesn't leave any white cast. For those with dry skin, this might just be the holy grail cream. It's incredibly gentle, long-lasting, and has just the right amount of oil to maintain a moisturizing barrier for an extended period - something I've never experienced before. Recently, my skin would either break out with excess oil and blemishes if I applied too much product, or become dry and produce excess oil if I used too little. I was stuck in a no-win situation. However, this product has really helped balance my skin's oil production. I'm definitely repurchasing and plan to use it consistently when I run out of options in winter. Contains ingredients that may clog pores. Might be a bit too rich for those with oily skin. My skin used to be dry no matter what I applied in fall, winter, and spring. However, layering this product thinly twice, depending on the season and my skin's condition that day, created an excellent moisturizing barrier. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinApr 14, 2025
Recently, my skin has become quite sensitive, so I was looking to try a new moisturizer. That's when I came across this COSRX product. 'The Ceramide Skin Barrier Moisturizer' - as the name suggests, it's focused on protecting the skin barrier. First off, the packaging is impressively clean and simple. It contains just the product itself, with proper sealing that gives a hygienic feel. What I love most is that the container stands up on its own, making it perfect for display on your vanity. The 80ml volume is surprisingly generous. A small amount goes a long way - I found it sufficient to cover my entire face and neck. Personally, I think it offers good value for money. The texture is neither too runny nor too thick - it's a perfect cream consistency that applies smoothly and feels incredibly hydrating. It might feel slightly slippery at first, but it absorbs quickly without any stickiness, which I really appreciate. Being fragrance-free, it should be suitable for those with sensitivities to scents. I've been using this product for about a week during the changing seasons, and I've noticed a significant reduction in skin tightness. Especially when applied in the morning, it kept my skin comfortable and hydrated all day, and my makeup stayed put without any issues. I have dry skin that's prone to blemishes, so I can't use just any cream. This one, however, felt gentle and non-irritating, which I loved. I even tested it on the back of my hand where I had some visible dead skin cells, and it immediately smoothed them out. It's moisturizing enough to be used on hands too. Looking at the ingredients, it contains a combination of ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids that can help strengthen the skin barrier. It also includes panthenol, hyaluronic acid, and squalane for hydration, making it generally safe and comfortable to use. In summary, rather than providing 'dramatic effects', this feels like a product that will improve your skin's health with consistent use. It's a versatile moisturizer suitable for anyone, but I'd especially recommend it for those with dry skin or those struggling with dryness during seasonal changes or winter. It's neither too heavy nor too light, making it perfect as a final step in your skincare routine. It's a bit disappointing that the formula contains some pore-clogging ingredients. Also, it's not exactly cheap, so I wish it would go on sale!
