I'm on my 6th bottle of the matte base in 1w Golden Ivory. It's perfect for those times when you want to meet people and pretend you're not wearing any makeup. Most people actually believe it! It's seriously amazing. The brush compatibility is a real issue - you need to use an expensive one. The excess powder is a major problem. If you're wearing clothes while applying, be prepared for it to get all over your outfit. Perfect for fibbing about not wearing makeup! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 19, 2019
I keep using this product because of its simple ingredients. I don't think it'll cause any blemishes. I wash my hands thoroughly in the bathroom before applying it with my fingers, but the most disappointing thing is how inconvenient it is for touch-ups. - 25*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedMar 7, 2019
At first, I used it well, but I had to stop because I kept getting small bumps. It seems the compatibility with your moisturizer is crucial. I tried it again after a long time, and when used with Primera, no issues arise. I was puzzled about getting bumps since it doesn't contain ingredients that typically cause them. I bought the semi-matte 3n and 3w. The 3w is really dark, matching my body tone perfectly. My face is slightly lighter than my body, but I'm satisfied with how it instantly makes my face look like terracotta. It's quite shocking to see how dark it looks in the mirror, but the glow makes it okay. My face ends up darker than my hands. The 3n is extremely light, but strangely it darkens over time... When I used it with Zeroid, it was super oily, but with Primera, it gives a nice glow. It's also less drying. However, it did accentuate wrinkles before, but with proper skincare, it's fine now. It's inconvenient to carry around, and the powder tends to fly off and fall on clothes. The moisturizer you use seems to be crucial. Applying with a brush gives better adherence, but it can settle into wrinkles, so I just pat it on with the house-shaped puff instead. - rh****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedNov 23, 2018
As someone with a deep undertone in shade 23, sensitive and dehydrated skin, I prefer lighter makeup over heavy coverage. With age, my sebum production has decreased, so I've graduated from the bumpy 'sea squirt skin' phase. However, I'm currently in a natural phase with some small blemishes on my chin and faint acne scars on my cheeks. I'm currently mixing Golden Fair 0W (personally equivalent to shade 20) and Golden Ivory 1W (personally equivalent to shade 24) to create a radiant warm tone 22 shade. (I'll post about blush, corrector, and concealer in their respective categories) Seven years ago, at 24, I first tried Everyday Minerals' matte base and used it well, but due to various drawbacks, I compromised with mainstream products. However, even with gentle bases, I still experienced blemishes. My skin was seriously problematic. While I'm prone to skin issues (due to poor sleep, hydration, diet, lack of exercise, etc.), makeup-induced blemishes were on another level. When I applied base makeup, my skin would itch, and I'd press it with the back of my hand, only to look in the mirror and see blemishes appearing. I'd go to work bare-faced for my skin's sake, but you know those moments when you catch your reflection and feel unattractive? Anyone else? I'm sure there are. This is the best color cosmetic for people like us! (Sorry for the long intro, let's get to the main point) The biggest advantage is how comfortable it feels on the skin. No itching! It's the gentlest foundation I've used (the ingredients speak for themselves). The foundation tone matches my warm skin perfectly. (I actually bought Golden Ivory first, but it was too dark, so I added Golden Fair) It doesn't feel sticky on the skin, doesn't cling to nose pores (because it's a powder), and creates a natural skin-like finish. It's perfect! Well, maybe not 100% perfect, but it's the best for me right now. However, due to a critical drawback, I keep looking at other options. The reason is... + It's winter, so it's too dry and emphasizes dead skin cells. I've finally found the right cushion and am graduating from Everyday Minerals. I'll post that review next. (I'm that bad person who always praises something but then criticizes it when I find something better) It disappears when I blow my nose. There's no darkening, but the makeup fades away. Due to its weak coverage... I totally agree with that best review that said you keep applying it dubiously, ending up with cakey makeup without achieving coverage! Actually, it evens out skin tone but has almost no coverage. It's better than just sunscreen, but... (It looks like I'm wearing makeup, but after 6 hours, I'm not so sure) The makeup fades, so touch-ups after lunch are essential, but it's impossible to touch up with this. If you try to touch up over it, it gets messy, like cakey powder (Am I applying too much?) You have to remove everything except around the eyes and reapply, but it's too bothersome, so I don't touch up. It might look underwhelming compared to those with full makeup, but what can I do with sensitive skin? I'll just adapt and live with it. (I want to use cushion foundations... I envy their convenient portability) I apply it by tapping and rolling with a Real Techniques buffing brush. For dark circles and around the mouth, I use a regular concealer (Wake Make). - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedOct 26, 2018
I've been using EM powder foundation exclusively for about 2 years now, after finding liquid foundations too heavy. The best part? My skin never feels suffocated. It's like I'm not even wearing makeup. There are times when I'm so exhausted from work that I fall asleep without removing my makeup, but with this, I wake up without any blemishes. Being a powder, it might feel a bit dry at first, but once your natural oils come through, it actually makes your skin look better. While it can clump if applied incorrectly, it's much less prone to this than liquid foundations. Even if it does clump, it's easy to fix - just wipe with a toner-soaked cotton pad and reapply. Touch-ups are a breeze. The trade-off for its lightweight feel is that it offers almost no coverage. Being a powder, it can't give you that dewy, 'glass skin' look. Sometimes I do miss that luminous, hydrated glow... The powder format makes it great for customizing. You can buy multiple shades and mix them to create the perfect match for your complexion. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedSep 27, 2018
I've been using Rosy Light. I was using Bare Minerals Fairly Light, but it was darker than my neck, so I switched to Rosy Ivory. I love the color and how it makes my skin look so much that I was ready to ditch Bare Minerals and commit to this one. The shade was a perfect match for my complexion. However, Bare Minerals was truly non-irritating. I could remove my makeup without any irritation, and even after going out and sweating profusely, I never got any blemishes. But this one stings a bit. I'm not sure why it's causing irritation. Maybe it's because it has more mica than Bare? Or because it doesn't have zinc oxide? I can feel a slight irritation even while wearing it (only on sensitive areas). It's also noticeably drying. After removing it, my skin gets a bit red. It seems there is some irritation. If anyone knows the reason, please leave a comment. It's such a shame because it gives me exactly the skin appearance I want. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJun 8, 2018
When you apply a somewhat matte base and use a buffing brush, it blends well and provides good coverage. The more moisturizing the formula (like those with a jojoba base), the harder it is to dispense from the container, while matte formulas come out more easily. I used it for a while and then mixed it with a concealer I bought separately. If your base is too moisturizing, it can look patchy or clumpy. The coverage is not as good compared to other formulas, so sometimes I use a regular formula for light coverage and use this as both a finishing powder and for additional coverage. For those unsure about product colors! The first number indicates brightness (closer to 0 means lighter complexion), and the letter at the end represents the undertone (N: Neutral, W: Warm/Golden, C: Cool/Rosy). - li*******Combination SkinRecommendedMay 31, 2018
1. No pore-clogging issues. The powder gently sits on top of the pores. Even those of us with large pores can achieve nearly invisible coverage by applying primer and layering the powder multiple times. 2. The diverse color range allows for a natural makeup look that matches your skin tone. However, finding your perfect shade might take some trial and error. 3. I use the em Finishing Powder religiously every time I do my makeup, which seems to contribute to its impressive staying power. Rather than breaking down, the makeup seems to fade gracefully, avoiding a messy appearance. 4. It's said to be good for the skin. While I can't definitively say it's better than the BB cream I used before (which didn't cause major blemishes), it does seem to agree with my skin. 1. It can make the skin look dry. When I want a dewy, glowing look, even applying a luminous finishing powder over it feels a bit off. It does blend more naturally with skin oils over time, but for combination skin, it can leave the nose oily and cheeks dry. I've started using a glow booster as a final touch for a natural radiance. 2. Finding your perfect shade initially can be challenging and potentially costly. 3. As a loose powder, it can be messy to use. I apply it in the bathroom to contain the powder. Be careful not to inhale it while applying - try to hold your breath to avoid potential lung irritation. 4. Brush maintenance can be a hassle. Despite these drawbacks, the minimal pore-clogging, natural skin tone match, and lightweight coverage are significant advantages. Some of these cons are inherent to loose powder foundations. I'll likely stick with this product for a long time (maybe forever?). 1. Color selection: 'C' is for cool tones, 'W' for warm (yellow-based), and 'N' for neutral. Lower numbers are lighter, higher numbers darker. 2N or 3N are generally versatile, or try 1W for a slightly warmer tone. Note that W shades are darker than N shades of the same number. 2. Brushes: Daiso foundation brushes work well! Kabuki brushes are also good. Look for brushes with fine, full bristles. 3. For a glowing finish: After applying powder, use a glow booster or similar product for a natural radiance. Apply before the finishing powder for subtle glow, or after for more intensity. To enhance staying power, I apply finishing powder after eye makeup, then touch up eyes again. 4. Pore coverage: em Minerals alone may not suffice. Use a primer first, then em powder concealer for redness around the nose, followed by em foundation. Keep buffing with a brush until pores are less visible. 5. Dark circles and blemishes: The em concealer has light coverage. I use a regular concealer for undereyes and blemishes. The em concealer works well for redness around the nose. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAug 18, 2017
✓ It doesn't cause blemishes. This is the first thing I look for when buying makeup. Most makeup that makes you look pretty can ironically make me look worse if I use it for too long... My skin feels comfortable, and it doesn't seem to cause any blemishes. ✓ The fading is so-so Some BB creams fade in a weird way, causing wrinkles and making you look older, but thankfully this one just fades away... ✓ Inconvenient to use Maybe it's because it's my first time using powder foundation, but at first, I spilled it, got powder all over my desk and clothes.... And you end up inhaling it. No matter how careful you are, you'll breathe it all in.. ✓ Coverage 1 out of 10 You can consider it as having no coverage. Even mixing it with concealer powder barely covers anything.. When I'm not wearing makeup, my skin looks a bit dewy, which makes it seem okay, but with this on, it becomes matte ㅜㅜㅜ.. There's no dewy glow at all. ✓ Often applied too thick It's surprisingly hard to control the amount. You're not sure if it's applied, so you keep adding more...The first day I used it, I walked around looking 3 shades duller than my usual skin tone ✓ Emphasizes dead skin cells It shows all the flaky skin that even BB cream doesn't reveal... It exposes all those little 'skins' that form when acne is healing. 1. When using, lightly tap the powder brush in the product, swirl it around, and make sure to tap off the excess. Repeat the process of tapping, shaking off excess, and applying for a natural finish. 2. It's best to use either liquid or solid concealer to quickly cover blemishes and dark circles. This foundation is truly a bare-face foundation, so it doesn't cover dark spots. I don't recommend using it alone if you have acne scars like me. I can barely cover even a quarter of my scars, and sometimes even that's difficult. 3. Super hydrated skin doesn't work well with this foundation. Finish with just a hint of moisture before applying the foundation.. Otherwise, it just clumps up. 4. Because of its lack of coverage, I tried to use BB cream underneath, but I end up just using the BB cream alone...? lol ㅜㅜㅜㅜ - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinJun 15, 2017
This is revolutionary! Apply sunscreen first, then use this only on areas you want to cover. It's lightweight yet provides natural coverage, even for dark circles. The staying power is good too. I'm using the Rose Light color, which is perfect for those with a yellow undertone in shade 21. The packaging looks a bit cheap, and to get the product out, you need to close the lid, flip it upside down, and tap the back repeatedly. This method of use makes the case get dirty easily. Among my reviews, this pairs perfectly with the Happy Bath sunscreen. The Happy Bath sunscreen gives a subtle glow, and when you apply this powder on top, it makes your skin look naturally flawless.
