As someone with oily, sensitive skin, I consistently use this product because it removes makeup gently. Unlike harsher cleansing waters that make my face turn red, this one doesn't cause any irritation at all. It's a relief! Plus, it does an excellent job of thoroughly cleansing my skin. Being a cleansing water, it struggles to remove stubborn mascara effectively. For eye makeup, I have to use a separate lip and eye remover. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 3, 2023
It removes makeup gently and effectively! The price is affordable, and it lasts a long time, making it one of the products I've used the longest. Among the three cleansing waters, I've used this one the most! The claim 'It's super gentle because it contains tea tree' isn't quite accurate. It's just okay. It doesn't remove waterproof cosmetics very well. For waterproof makeup, use a cleansing water with oil. This one is best for removing foundation, cushion compacts, or sunscreen from your skin. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 3, 2021
Variety of sizes available (large size comes with a pump dispenser) Easy to check remaining product Sturdy bottle and cap (no leakage) Frequently on sale or in value sets (great bang for your buck!) Gentle and refreshing cleansing This is an honest review after using up the entire bottle User experience (Skin type: combination dehydrated, prone to 1-2 blemishes, with some marks) Subtle tea tree scent with a fresh, hydrating finish Though it claims no additional cleansing or just water rinse is needed, On days with light makeup, I used this for first cleanse, Followed by water rinse and exfoliating toner, which still showed some residue Effectively removes sunscreen and brightening moisturizer Seems to provide some gentle exfoliation Great for light cleansing While I didn't find any major drawbacks, For heavy or point makeup, It's better to use a dedicated makeup remover or another cleansing product Saturate a cotton pad with plenty of cleansing water Let it sit on your skin briefly before wiping for better results - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 12, 2021
It's pretty decent and mild. The scent isn't overpowering, and it doesn't cause much irritation. It works well for removing makeup from areas like the cheeks and eyebrows. When I used to buy it, they often had buy-one-get-one-free promotions! For stubborn makeup like eyeliner or mascara, no matter how thoroughly I tried to remove it, there were always residues left. When using this, I always followed a three-step cleansing routine: cleansing water, cleansing oil, then cleansing foam. Even after all that, I'd sometimes still see remnants when using an exfoliating toner. It's not a product with strong cleansing effectiveness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinDec 13, 2020
I always keep this product stocked alongside my green tea cleanser! I use film-type or washable eyeliners and mascaras, so oil-based lip and eye removers often feel too heavy and leave an oily residue that I don't like. This product doesn't cause any burning or irritation, making it safe for use around the eyes. I love how it leaves no residue and feels clean after use! Unless it's a waterproof formula or intense lip stain, this product effectively removes most makeup, which is why I've settled on using it regularly. It doesn't remove waterproof formulas and intense lip stains very well. I've found that using it with a 5-ply cotton pad works even better for removing eye makeup. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSep 18, 2020
Cleansing Effectiveness: 4/5 Among cleansing waters, this one's cleansing power is top-notch! For mascara, I felt like there was a bit left, so I used a separate remover. However, for skin and other point makeup, it's good enough after a couple of wipes! It's great for those days when you're too lazy for cleansing oil. Scent: 5/5 A carbonated-like fragrance that's unlikely to be polarizing! It gives a clean feeling when using. Packaging: 5/5 Standard cleansing water container! It's easy to control the amount, and it doesn't gush out, which is great. Cleansing Effectiveness: 3/5 As mentioned in the positives, it's difficult to remove mascara! Since I don't use cleansing water daily (I use it occasionally for skin cleansing), it wasn't a big inconvenience, but the cleansing is somewhat inadequate. When wiping your skin with a soft, low-lint cotton pad, by the third wipe, almost everything is removed and it doesn't leave any residue! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSep 18, 2020
*The Hwahae Testers Review* I typically have oily skin with excess sebum, and in winter my U-zone gets dry. Occasionally, when my skin acts up, I get multiple pustules and my cheeks are covered in small bumps - classic acne-prone skin. This cleansing water seems great for light use. Its biggest advantage is that it's more affordable than other cleansers, making it a good value for money! If you're only wearing sunscreen, concealer, eyebrow product, and eyeshadow, this cleansing water is sufficient. It also contains tea tree extract, known to be beneficial for acne-prone skin. It's not sticky at all and feels just like water, so I recommend it for those with oily skin. Unfortunately, it doesn't remove all types of makeup... For liquid eyeliner, waterproof mascara, and long-lasting tints, you need to rub quite hard to remove everything. On days when you're wearing heavy makeup, it might be better to use a cleansing oil or makeup remover. There are also some disappointing aspects in terms of ingredients... It works well when used with cotton pads. I personally soak a cleansing tissue generously with this cleansing water to remove makeup, then follow up with a foam cleanser for a double cleanse! It's easy to use without any burden and gentle on the skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinSep 18, 2020
The Hwahae Testers review: Cleansing effectiveness and texture: Though it's a water-type, it effectively removes visible makeup. It's impressive how clean the skin looks after just one swipe! (See photos 3 and 4) The formula feels refreshing as it glides over the skin, possibly due to the tea tree content. Compared to another brand's cleansing water (an eggplant-related product) I was using, this one leaves significantly less stickiness on the cotton pad, giving a lighter feel. (I used it with Uru Uru cotton pads) Scent and taste: It has a subtle, gentle aroma - typical tea tree scent. It's a familiar fragrance found in tea tree products, so it wasn't off-putting. And the inevitable taste when removing point makeup... (Is it just me?) It's bitter like most cosmetics, but it seemed less irritating when it got into my eyes. Of course, this is compared to the other product I was using! It's not completely sting-free, but tolerable. Don't press too hard when removing eye makeup, everyone! Feedback for dry skin types: For my skin type, it felt moisturizing right after use as the water absorbed. However, the hydration isn't quite enough without using an emulsion, so I recommend applying a moisturizing product after using this cleansing water if you have dry skin! Still, it's not overly drying. Volume: While not a large size, it seems adequate. I'm not one to stick to a single product, but even after using it generously for about ten days for this review, the level didn't decrease much! If you're the type to cleanse multiple times, it might last 3-4 months! (This can vary greatly depending on the user) Drawbacks: Like most cleansing waters, a single swipe with a cotton pad doesn't provide perfect cleansing. Using it 2-3 more times will completely remove any residue from the cleansing water. It doesn't remove waterproof mascara at all. Considering the nature of water-based products, this isn't a major issue, and it's great for quickly removing light makeup or sunscreen! Room for improvement: It doesn't seem significantly different from existing cleansing waters. It's not dramatically special, but rather a safe product that anyone can use. This also suggests that it's likely to be suitable for most people without causing blemishes. Usage tip: No matter how visibly effective the first cleanse is, cosmetic residue may remain! Whether you use water, oil, or milk cleansers, I recommend always finishing with a face wash for a thorough cleanse! If you're too lazy to go to the bathroom and want to end with just cleansing water, please make sure to do 2-3 additional rounds of cleansing. Our skin is precious, after all! While using it, I soaked Uru Uru cotton pads generously with the cleansing water and left them on my cheeks or forehead for a moment before wiping, like a toner pack! It definitely felt more deeply hydrating and seemed to remove residue that was deeply embedded in the skin. The 5th photo shows a cotton pad used after the first cleanse, applied like a toner pack and then wiped off! Compared to the new cotton pad next to it, it's... no words. You wouldn't stop after just one cleanse, right? - Hwahae UserOily SkinSep 18, 2020
Irritation level: Unless a large amount gets into your eyes, there's minimal irritation. If you're gentle, it won't cause redness even with rubbing! Cleansing effectiveness: Despite being a cleansing water, it removes non-waterproof products completely. Highly recommended for those wearing light makeup due to mask-wearing these days! For others, just pair it with an oil cleanser for waterproof makeup, and everything comes off easily! Overall feel: It's generally lightweight, and after cleansing, there's no residue or foreign feeling. It leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh, making it a product that likely won't divide opinions too much. Cleansing effectiveness: While it's great at removing non-waterproof products, it struggles with waterproof point makeup and long-lasting lip colors. On weekdays, this product alone works fine, but for special occasions, it's best to use it alongside an oil cleanser! Cotton pads: The user experience can vary slightly depending on the cotton pad used. I found that using half-sized cotton pads kept the product from drying out too quickly and seemed to remove makeup most effectively. Tip 1: Saturate a half-sized cotton pad thoroughly. This keeps the product from drying out quickly even with multiple swipes, maintaining moisture and minimizing irritation until all makeup is removed! Tip 2: For stubborn products, instead of rubbing vigorously, try holding the soaked pad on the area for about 20 seconds before wiping. This method makes removal comparatively easier! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 18, 2020
The Hwahae Testers review is here! It's quite decent to use. I've tried both the green tea and tea tree versions of this product, and I experienced no irritation or blemishes from cleansing. While it's not mind-blowingly amazing, it's perfect for using without any fuss, and I appreciated that there were no rough edges to it. You know what they say - sometimes, being just right is the best! It's a product you can easily finish and repurchase without overthinking. The subtle tea tree scent and gentle cooling effect are nice. If I remember correctly, the green tea version had more of a cosmetic fragrance, but I really enjoyed the subtle scent of the tea tree one! I also liked the mild cooling effect that's characteristic of tea tree. The cleansing effectiveness is not bad for daily use. I often wear minimal makeup - just sunscreen and tint - and it removes this effortlessly. It even wipes off shimmery pearls well. However, when I did a hand test, it struggled with waterproof eyeliner, requiring multiple vigorous rubs to remove. In such cases, you might need a separate lip and eye remover. It effectively removes face makeup and light eye makeup. Sebum control? While the product claims to control sebum, I couldn't really notice this effect distinctly. To be fair, it might be difficult to achieve this with a cleansing water alone. Waterproof makeup is a no-go Trying to remove waterproof makeup with this cleansing water alone might be too harsh on your skin. While it effectively removes sunscreen, foundation, and regular eye makeup, it struggles with waterproof products. For better makeup removal, try spritzing your face with mist before using this product on a cotton pad. It helps the makeup come off more easily!
