It has an emulsion-like texture with tiny beads visible up close. These beads are green color capsules that burst upon application, neutralizing redness. I tested it on the back of my hand and noticed my complexion became brighter with a subtle glow. When I applied it to my husband's face, his lackluster skin instantly brightened. My husband usually dislikes sticky products, but DTRT's brightening moisturizer absorbs well without feeling heavy or sticky - the application is excellent! With its easy-to-apply emulsion texture that's lighter than BB cream, it naturally evens skin tone. It's perfect for men who find makeup intimidating and want something effortless to use.
ConsMy husband felt a bit awkward about the capsules in the brightening moisturizer at first. They do spread evenly on the skin with some rubbing, but men who aren't used to skincare products might need some time to get accustomed to it.

Fragrance The citrus scent is really great! My previous brightening moisturizer had an overpowering sweet smell that made me hesitant to apply it, but this product has a lovely fragrance. 2. Application/Coverage The absorption is pretty good. Let's be honest, most men rarely use puffs or sponges when applying sunscreen or brightening moisturizers. So it's important that it spreads well with just your hands, and this product does that nicely. It absorbs quickly and provides natural coverage, making it easy to use. Plus, there's not a huge difference between before and after application, so it should look natural on men. 3. Ingredients According to Hwahae, there's only one ingredient to be cautious about. It's good that it doesn't contain any pore-clogging ingredients. Many regular sunscreens have a lot of those...
Cons1. Lacks sun protection It's disappointing that this brightening moisturizer doesn't offer much in terms of sun protection. Applying both this and sunscreen would be too heavy, but using this alone doesn't provide enough protection. 2. Slight stickiness? While it absorbs quickly, the feeling afterwards is a bit odd - dry yet slightly sticky? It controls oil well, leaving the skin matte, but there's a slight tackiness. It's not bothersome or uncomfortable, but I'd recommend testing it on your hand before purchasing.

Personally, I didn't feel any discomfort when applying it. It absorbed smoothly. - Brightening effect: It's definitely there. However, you really need to control the amount well. If you squeeze out too much and just apply it, you'll end up with an unappealing white face. If you think of it as spot coverage and apply it little by little, you can achieve a natural fair skin look, not like the white cast from sunscreen!
Cons- There's no perfect skin tone corrector - While it does correct the complexion to some extent, there are limitations. It's clear that the green capsules provide some coverage for redness, but it seems to require a certain level of precision when applying.
TipI mixed it with my sunscreen, applying the mixture only to areas that needed brightening, and used just sunscreen on the rest of my face.

If you find this helpful, please give it a like for more great info. What I loved: It worked well without changing my skin tone, just like other brands - that's great! Even with my extremely oily skin, it didn't disappear quickly. I liked the natural-looking brightening effect. Most importantly, don't worry about it coming off - it becomes spotless with just a little water.
ConsSome drawbacks: 1. If you apply it when you have flaky skin, be careful as it can create a lot of excess powder. 2. It has a grayish tint that can make you look a bit dull. 3. Remember, use it in moderation - too much and you might look ghostly! 4. There's a slight increase in oiliness, but it's tolerable.
TipInsider tips revealed: 1. It's a perfect match when used with sunscreen (but avoid white-toned sunscreens). 2. Applying a suitable amount to reddened areas can help balance out the redness. For those who wear makeup, if you apply foundation over it, the redness won't show through! I'll share more tips as I discover them.

First off, the brightening effect was definitely noticeable. I used to only use BB cream, but after using this brightening moisturizer, my complexion was visibly brighter. Initially, due to how well it absorbs, I thought it might be too light, but about 30 minutes after application, it blends with my skin's natural warmth for a more natural look. Lastly, the long-lasting effect is great - if I apply it in the morning, it maintains a pretty good effect until evening.
ConsThe scent is a bit disappointing. Although it's only noticeable during application, it has that distinct smell typical of men's sunscreens. Also, the whitening effect is stronger than expected, so if you don't apply it evenly, you might end up with a ghostly appearance (where your face looks too pale).
TipPersonally, I wait about 5 minutes after applying this product before putting on sunscreen. That's when I check for any white cast, and if any areas seem a bit too bright, I gently pat them a bit more, which works perfectly for me.

First off, the ingredients are great! I have sensitive skin that breaks out easily, but I didn't get any blemishes at all during the week I used this. It has a slight green tint that helps cover some redness. The best part is how naturally it brightens the skin!
ConsFor me, it slightly emphasized dead skin cells and settled a bit into my smile lines. It also tends to pill. After some time, it takes on a slightly ashy tone.
TipIf you have dry skin, make sure to thoroughly apply your skincare beforehand!

The effectiveness is outstanding. The green capsules correct redness and naturally even out the skin tone. This is actually my first time using a brightening product, and I think I'll stick with this one going forward! 2. A little goes a long way! I'm extremely satisfied that even a small amount produces significant results. 3. The packaging is pretty and cute! It's lovely that they've paid attention to detail, even with the outer box design. 4. It's great that it can be easily removed with just a gentle wash using a cleansing foam, making it convenient and fuss-free.
ConsThe staying power... doesn't seem to last very long. Apart from that, I don't have any other issues!
Tip1. I use about half a pump each time, but after reading other reviews, it seems I might be using too little. Using 2 to 2.5 pumps might improve the product's longevity and effectiveness. 2. It seems like applying a light toner and emulsion before this product could be beneficial.

Fragrance First off, the scent is a refreshing citrus aroma, which is a pleasant departure from the typically heavy fragrances found in men's cosmetics. 2. Texture Unlike the Real Barrier tone-up cream I used before, this one applies smoothly without feeling thick or heavy, which is a great sensation. 3. Tone-up effect Compared to the Real Barrier Control-T Natural Tone-Up Cream I previously used, this one provides a natural, moisturizing tone-up without leaving a chalky white cast. 4. Redness coverage While tone-up creams are meant to even out skin tone, their ability to naturally conceal redness from acne scars is crucial. The green-tinted capsules in this product do a good job of covering small areas of redness. 5. Portability I carried this along with my skincare essentials for post-workout use on weekends. It was perfect for creating a natural, bright complexion even on flushed skin and with damp hair. The plastic container is less prone to damage, and the squeeze tube design is hygienic. The pump dispenser is a huge plus for easy application control! 6. Cleansing I use Acnes Derma Foam Cleanser (evening) and Innisfree Blueberry Foam Cleanser (morning), both low pH. Even though the Blueberry cleanser is gentler, both effectively remove this tone-up cream and sunscreen. However, thorough cleansing is essential, especially around the nose, chin, and neck, as this product adheres well to the skin. 7. Conclusion For men's cosmetics, a natural look is paramount. Perfect tone correction can often look unnatural. It's challenging to find a product that offers appropriate tone correction, smooth application, a natural finish, and minimal harmful ingredients. I used BB creams, foundations, primers, and concealers for about two years to cover my skin, but I noticed my skin condition worsening underneath. I realized that for men, unless we can achieve perfectly natural makeup without compromising skin health, it's better to show some imperfections (within reason) and opt for light tone-up products. This approach is better for both current appearance and long-term skin health, reflecting that men aren't expected to have flawless skin like women. Of course, basic cleansing, toner, emulsion, and moisturizer are still essential! 8. Final verdict I highly recommend this product for men seeking a natural tone-up effect with smooth application, moderate correction, and convenience. (The pleasant scent makes it suitable for women too!)
ConsAreas for improvement: 1. While it has the least white cast among tone-up creams I've tried, you still need to be careful blending around the nose area. 2. According to the Hwahae app, it contains PEG ingredients. Although I didn't experience any allergic reactions, others might want to consider this. Overall, it's still relatively low in harmful ingredients. 3. When first applied, there's a slight green tint from the capsules, which quickly absorbs to reveal the true tone-up effect. However, this might feel a bit long if you're in a rush for work or school. 4. While it effectively covers small areas of redness, it doesn't completely conceal deeper red marks in one or two areas with acne scars.
TipThe instructions suggest using two pumps for face and neck, but face sizes vary. It's best to figure out how much you need to cover your entire face, then apply extra to areas where redness persists. Also, remember that even though it's natural-looking, applying too much can still result in an overly pale appearance, though I've never gone that far myself.

I don't have professional knowledge, so I'll just write based on my experience using it. I've been using this product for about ten days, and first off, the pump design makes it super convenient to control the amount. The delivery and packaging were also fine. When I applied it evenly on my face and neck, I was pleasantly surprised by how naturally it brightened my complexion! I've tried two or three brightening moisturizers from other brands, and while they definitely brightened, they often looked unnatural or too obvious. Some even turned white after a while, but this one didn't have any of those issues! As mentioned in the instructions, I also used it on my elbows (though not on my heels), and while the effect wasn't dramatic, I could tell it helped! I think I might actually purchase this product for regular use.
ConsThere was a slight heavy feeling that I couldn't ignore. I usually applied this after cleansing, toning, moisturizing, and applying sunscreen. Since I tend to run hot, both on my body and face, using this on top of sunscreen made my skin feel a bit stuffy. So when I had to get ready quickly and go out before my skin had cooled down, I felt even hotter due to this stuffy feeling. However, I rarely meet people who run as hot as I do, so I don't think most people would find this uncomfortable! I don't use any makeup products other than eyebrow pencil, so I can't really comment on whether it causes pilling with other products. Other than that, I don't think I had any other issues!

Natural brightening effect - It truly lives up to its name in terms of evening skin tone. Unlike other brands that can make your face look unnaturally white or leave a white cast like some sunscreens, this product naturally enhances your existing complexion without making it look off. As mentioned in the product description, it even helps cover redness (which is great for me as I have sensitive, atopic skin that tends to look blotchy), which I really appreciated. 2. Ingredients - While it does contain PEG, overall the ingredient list isn't overwhelming even for someone with sensitive, atopic skin like me. I was pleased to see that they've excluded potentially harmful or allergenic ingredients and alcohol, so there was no itching or irritation after application. I was honestly surprised at how far Korean men's skincare has come in terms of quality... From niacinamide that aids in brightening, corn starch and titanium dioxide that help absorb excess oil, to Centella Asiatica extract known for its soothing properties - the ingredient list exceeded my expectations. 3. Application - One thing you often have to compromise with most brightening moisturizers or tone-up sunscreens is how they apply. Even when you don't expect it, they can end up being thick and sticky, sometimes pilling or moving around depending on your base products. However, this product has a consistency between a cream and an emulsion, making it easy to smooth over the skin effortlessly.
Cons1. Hydration - This is somewhat unavoidable due to its oil-control purpose. However, sensitive skin needs moisture to prevent dryness-induced itching. You'll need to apply emulsion and cream thoroughly before using this product to balance hydration and tone-up effects. 2. Amount control - This could be seen as a positive point too... Even a small amount covers well due to its good absorption. However, if you use slightly too much, it can look like you've applied a mask. It can be tricky to blend in if you've over-applied. A bit more than a rice grain-sized amount is sufficient for the forehead and cheeks. 3. Sun protection - If the purpose of a brightening moisturizer is to simplify your skincare and makeup routine when going out by providing a natural tone-up effect, I believe it should also offer at least some sun protection. Nowadays, sun protection is essential, not to mention protection against heat and fine dust... This aspect is a bit disappointing. Having to apply sunscreen on top of this is... sigh.
TipMake sure to do a thorough skincare routine before applying, and only pump out a small amount of product.
