Fragrance The citrus scent is really great! My previous brightening moisturizer had an overpowering sweet smell that made me hesitant to apply it, but this product has a lovely fragrance. 2. Application/Coverage The absorption is pretty good. Let's be honest, most men rarely use puffs or sponges when applying sunscreen or brightening moisturizers. So it's important that it spreads well with just your hands, and this product does that nicely. It absorbs quickly and provides natural coverage, making it easy to use. Plus, there's not a huge difference between before and after application, so it should look natural on men. 3. Ingredients According to Hwahae, there's only one ingredient to be cautious about. It's good that it doesn't contain any pore-clogging ingredients. Many regular sunscreens have a lot of those...
Cons1. Lacks sun protection It's disappointing that this brightening moisturizer doesn't offer much in terms of sun protection. Applying both this and sunscreen would be too heavy, but using this alone doesn't provide enough protection. 2. Slight stickiness? While it absorbs quickly, the feeling afterwards is a bit odd - dry yet slightly sticky? It controls oil well, leaving the skin matte, but there's a slight tackiness. It's not bothersome or uncomfortable, but I'd recommend testing it on your hand before purchasing.

Fragrance First off, the scent is a refreshing citrus aroma, which is a pleasant departure from the typically heavy fragrances found in men's cosmetics. 2. Texture Unlike the Real Barrier tone-up cream I used before, this one applies smoothly without feeling thick or heavy, which is a great sensation. 3. Tone-up effect Compared to the Real Barrier Control-T Natural Tone-Up Cream I previously used, this one provides a natural, moisturizing tone-up without leaving a chalky white cast. 4. Redness coverage While tone-up creams are meant to even out skin tone, their ability to naturally conceal redness from acne scars is crucial. The green-tinted capsules in this product do a good job of covering small areas of redness. 5. Portability I carried this along with my skincare essentials for post-workout use on weekends. It was perfect for creating a natural, bright complexion even on flushed skin and with damp hair. The plastic container is less prone to damage, and the squeeze tube design is hygienic. The pump dispenser is a huge plus for easy application control! 6. Cleansing I use Acnes Derma Foam Cleanser (evening) and Innisfree Blueberry Foam Cleanser (morning), both low pH. Even though the Blueberry cleanser is gentler, both effectively remove this tone-up cream and sunscreen. However, thorough cleansing is essential, especially around the nose, chin, and neck, as this product adheres well to the skin. 7. Conclusion For men's cosmetics, a natural look is paramount. Perfect tone correction can often look unnatural. It's challenging to find a product that offers appropriate tone correction, smooth application, a natural finish, and minimal harmful ingredients. I used BB creams, foundations, primers, and concealers for about two years to cover my skin, but I noticed my skin condition worsening underneath. I realized that for men, unless we can achieve perfectly natural makeup without compromising skin health, it's better to show some imperfections (within reason) and opt for light tone-up products. This approach is better for both current appearance and long-term skin health, reflecting that men aren't expected to have flawless skin like women. Of course, basic cleansing, toner, emulsion, and moisturizer are still essential! 8. Final verdict I highly recommend this product for men seeking a natural tone-up effect with smooth application, moderate correction, and convenience. (The pleasant scent makes it suitable for women too!)
ConsAreas for improvement: 1. While it has the least white cast among tone-up creams I've tried, you still need to be careful blending around the nose area. 2. According to the Hwahae app, it contains PEG ingredients. Although I didn't experience any allergic reactions, others might want to consider this. Overall, it's still relatively low in harmful ingredients. 3. When first applied, there's a slight green tint from the capsules, which quickly absorbs to reveal the true tone-up effect. However, this might feel a bit long if you're in a rush for work or school. 4. While it effectively covers small areas of redness, it doesn't completely conceal deeper red marks in one or two areas with acne scars.
TipThe instructions suggest using two pumps for face and neck, but face sizes vary. It's best to figure out how much you need to cover your entire face, then apply extra to areas where redness persists. Also, remember that even though it's natural-looking, applying too much can still result in an overly pale appearance, though I've never gone that far myself.

Fragrance While this might be a matter of personal preference, I found the scent pleasant. It's not chemical or harsh, but rather a subtle pine aroma with a refreshing feel. 2. Product Appearance The packaging is adorable and visually appealing right from the outer design. The pump is smooth and easy to use, making application convenient. 3. Cleansing Effectiveness I'm not sure if this is a pro or a con, but it rinses off surprisingly well with water. In my case, I do a double cleanse, which makes it even more effective. I've excluded comments on longevity and post-application effects as I haven't experienced them personally.
ConsUnfortunately, I couldn't use this product. Here's why: 1. Lack of Sun Protection This product doesn't offer UV protection, so it needs to be used with sunscreen. However, both this product and sunscreen tend to be rich, which can be overwhelming. Depending on the sunscreen, it may not adhere well to the skin and can look patchy. As someone who prioritizes sun protection, especially during high-UV seasons like summer, I probably won't use this product. 2. Coverage and Brightening Effect My skin isn't particularly dark, but this brightening moisturizer is too light for a men's product. No matter how much I blend it, it leaves a white cast that's as noticeable as kabuki makeup. It's extremely white, even visible on the back of my hand. As someone who prefers a natural look, I was disappointed by how noticeable it is. Moreover, despite the intense whitening effect, it doesn't cover redness or small blemishes very well. I'll likely stick to my current products. 3. Skin Compatibility This is purely personal, but my skin is somewhat sensitive, so I don't often use men's products. This one caused a stinging sensation immediately upon application, forcing me to wash it off right away. I was too alarmed to continue using it, even after proper hydration. If you have similar concerns, you might want to consider this. Also, I experienced breakouts after using this product, without changing anything else in my skincare routine. While it could be due to my skin condition that day, it's worth considering. 4. Adherence Rather than feeling like it adheres to the skin, it seems to sit on top. While this makes it easy to wash off, it also means it can look patchy when exposed to moisture. Be especially careful if you're likely to sweat.
TipPlease make sure to use this with sunscreen. This product is only a brightening moisturizer and does not provide UV protection.

The texture isn't thick but rather fluid, making it easy to apply without any discomfort. Compared to other products I've tried that were surprisingly thick, this one feels as light as applying an emulsion. 2. It looks incredibly natural. At first, it might appear slightly white, but it quickly blends in with your natural skin tone. It's a product that brightens your complexion very subtly. 3. (This might be a matter of personal preference) It has a herbal scent that feels refreshing when applied.
Cons1. As expected, the coverage is somewhat lacking. While the purpose of a brightening moisturizer isn't primarily coverage, it still doesn't conceal redness or blemish marks. 2. The longevity leaves much to be desired. It lasts maybe 3-4 hours? For a man who needs to be out all day, its performance is a bit disappointing. 3. Due to its fluid texture, if you apply it without exfoliating first, you might experience some pilling. It's best to use this after consistent exfoliation of dead skin cells.
TipI recommend squeezing out a generous amount and applying it twice rather than just once. Even if it looks a bit pale at first, the staying power isn't very strong, so it's better to apply it more liberally.

Pros: 1. Great for combination dehydrated skin - creamy texture feels like a hydrating moisturizer (like applying two layers of moisturizer, which I love) 2. Decent staying power (applied at 7 AM, still going strong 5 hours later - no need for touch-ups) 3. In my opinion, this is crucial when choosing a brightening moisturizer - it looks natural after application, no white cast. I've tried 3 brightening moisturizers (X Style Homme, Cosnori, and this one), and this is the best 4. Gentle ingredients (I have somewhat sensitive skin and experienced no blemishes) 5. Truly a kind brightening moisturizer for men I'll use my previous product on my body and continue using this for my face. To provide a helpful review, I took unfiltered photos with my phone's camera, so please excuse my appearance!
ConsDespite only washing with water and applying a simple toner and emulsion in the morning, you can see some pilling (the white specks above the blue area in the photo). However, this happens with all brightening moisturizers, so applying a small amount in layers should work fine. (I admit I applied more than usual since it was my first time using it)
TipRemember to apply sunscreen after using this brightening moisturizer as the final step in your routine
