This seems to fit the bill perfectly. It's so effective at preventing dryness and deep dryness that I don't even need to immediately apply an ampoule or moisturizer after using it.
ConsAs someone with super sensitive skin and atopic dermatitis, I experienced a tingling sensation around my mouth and slight itchiness, possibly due to the rich texture, despite the absence of harmful ingredients. While it doesn't cause dryness, the richness seems to trigger some itching, so I need to be cautious with this product. The runny consistency makes it prone to spilling easily. If not shaken thoroughly before use, the oil doesn't mix well and comes out separately. I wish the bottle opening was a bit smaller.
TipMake sure to shake the bottle well before use.

It feels fresh without any stickiness, making me reach for it often.
ConsThe inconvenience of having to shake it before use, and the slight tingling sensation when first applied.

When I first received the package, I was really impressed with the packaging. It was wrapped in paper, which showed their commitment to the environment - I loved that. I have combination dehydrated skin that's prone to excess oil production but feels dry underneath. My skin tends to get heated easily, and winter is particularly harsh on it. I also have some blemishes and slightly enlarged pores. This product can supply both hydration and oil. The water and oil layers are separated, so you need to shake it before use. When mixed, it becomes a milky white color (like low-fat milk with a splash of water). Be careful not to dispense too much as it can run off your hands, but once applied, it seemed to improve my oil and moisture balance. Despite my oily-but-dehydrated skin, I was worried it might make me even oilier, but it actually helped control oil better than doing nothing. When used as an exfoliating toner, it removes oil-based impurities well due to its dual water-oil composition. The friction-induced irritation is much less compared to other pads I've used. As it's a brightening product, I could feel my skin becoming brighter and my complexion more even.
ConsIf you're applying it with your hands, you'll need to be careful with the amount to prevent it from dripping. Although it claims to have anti-wrinkle properties, I'm not sure if it reduced my pores or improved elasticity. (I might need to use it longer to tell) It stung a bit when applied to my skin. This could be due to its active ingredients working, or it might not suit my skin type. (It feels a bit like applying an acid serum, but less intense) While it was good for oil control, the hydration didn't last long with this product alone. But that's to be expected from a toner. I had some breakouts due to increased oil production after a trip abroad. Using this product didn't seem to improve that situation. (Some people say it helped with their blemishes, so results may vary) This is understandable as it's primarily a brightening and anti-wrinkle product.
TipWhen I applied it before bed, I found that after 2-3 hours, my skin felt quite dehydrated - perhaps due to the winter weather. So I've been layering a thick layer of moisturizer on top. (This gives me a feeling of oil control with some hydration) I often used it as an exfoliating toner after a light cleanse, gently massaging it in to refine skin texture and remove any remaining impurities with less irritation. I'd recommend using this to even out your complexion when your skin is in good condition.

Before reading the review, please note my skin type! I have combination skin that changes with the seasons, but in winter it becomes extremely dry! I was experiencing deep dryness and needed to switch up my skincare when I was lucky enough to be selected for The Hwahae Testers. I've been using this product diligently every day since! Recently, as my time of the month approached, I had some occasional blemishes on my forehead. Unboxing: Though I didn't take photos, I appreciated the eco-friendly packaging. Instead of bubble wrap, they used recycled paper wrapping. When I received it, I was so excited and kept fiddling with the packaging, loving the thoughtful touch! Detailed Review: This was my first time trying an oil toner! My skin gets extremely dry in winter, so my routine used to be quite extensive - not quite 7 skins, but close. With this oil toner, I've simplified my routine to just mist > oil toner > emulsion > cream. Amazingly, on the first night, I thought I had applied cream but realized I had only used the oil toner - that's how moisturizing it is! The fragrance is lovely too! I'm not sure exactly what it is, but I kept sniffing it when I first opened it. The most noticeable difference with this oil toner is that I no longer feel that deep dryness. Usually, I have to immediately mist after cleansing due to the intense dryness. I was initially worried about using an oil toner - concerned it might be greasy and not absorb well. But that's not the case at all! It leaves my skin feeling supple, like I've applied a rich cream. I can't stop touching my face (though I know I shouldn't)! And about blemishes - the biggest concern with oils! I was worried, especially with my monthly cycle, but surprisingly, any existing blemishes calmed down and no new ones appeared.
ConsDrawbacks: The price... While I'm not sure how others feel, as a student living alone, it's quite steep for me. I love using it, but when I saw the price, I was shocked. If I buy it, I'll have to use it very sparingly. Tingling sensation: Remember I mentioned having some blemishes on my forehead? Well, this product really stings on areas with active blemishes or broken skin. I was worried it might worsen my skin condition, so I avoided those areas for a few days. Fortunately, it didn't aggravate my blemishes, so I've started applying it everywhere again, but the stinging is still uncomfortable. Shake it up: You must remember to shake the bottle well before use! I forgot to do this occasionally at first, but now I make sure to shake it thoroughly every time.
TipWhen using sheet masks, I like to place them on areas with blemishes or extreme dryness! It's a great way to target specific areas when you don't feel like doing a full face mask.

Typical combination dehydrated skin with oily T-zone. Application ⭐⭐️️⭐️⭐️⭐️: It has a thin consistency like a regular toner. I thought it would be very oily since it's an oil toner, but there's no sticky feeling at all when applied. It's great that it absorbs without any stickiness despite being an oil toner! The texture is milky. Absorption ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: I intentionally applied it sparingly at first, worried it might sit on top of the skin. Thankfully, it didn't feel like it was just sitting on the surface, but it didn't sink in like a regular toner either. It felt more like it was coating the skin. Hydration ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: Before applying makeup, I placed cotton pads soaked in the oil toner on areas prone to flaking and dryness, like the chin and sides of the nose. My makeup lasted longer than usual without any flaking. Recommended for: Those with extremely dry skin who don't mind using oil-based products. Photo: You can see how dry my skin looks right after cleansing, but after using the Hayejin Oil Toner, I was surprised at how much glow my skin had!
ConsBlemishes: My extremely sensitive skin gets stressed with every change of season. When I first used it, my cheeks stung so much that I had to wash it off and reapply gradually. Although it's supposed to be a gentle oil toner that's good for the skin, my skin was in poor condition and very sensitive, so it stung a lot. While it didn't cause more blemishes the next day, the stinging sensation made it difficult to use each time. Not recommended for: Those with very sensitive skin like mine, or those who experience stinging or mild irritation when changing skincare products.
TipPro tip: Instead of applying the oil toner directly, I first used my regular hydrating toner to prep my skin, then applied a very thin layer of the oil toner. This method reduced the stinging sensation, improved hydration, and helped my makeup apply more smoothly!

I have dry skin with hyperpigmentation. Apart from 1-2 blemishes during my menstrual cycle, I don't usually get acne. I tried this product around my period. I tested layering it 1-5 times: One layer felt like 40% hydration, 60% oil Two layers felt like 30% hydration, 70% oil Three layers felt like 25% hydration, 75% oil ... The more I layered, the oilier it felt. I recommend layering only 2-3 times! Overall, it feels more firm than elastic. It gives a glow, probably due to its rich texture. The glow is pretty, but I wonder if that's important in a skincare routine. I also applied it with a cotton pad. For me, it felt ordinary? Just like applying toner with a cotton pad. I tried it with other products. Using this product alone felt like a light skin-emulsion mix. When used with other products, it seemed to balance oil and moisture! Feeling I needed more hydration, I used Goodal Tangerine Vita C Pads, followed by this product, then Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream. This combination made the cream, which I previously found heavy, work perfectly for me.
ConsMy lips tend to crack in winter, and applying this to cracked areas stung terribly. It didn't seem to particularly help with dead skin cells. If that's what you're looking for, I recommend using it with a cotton pad. I noticed the feel of application varied greatly depending on skin condition. When my skin was in good condition, it felt mild and unremarkable, but when my skin wasn't at its best, it felt like it was pushing out dead skin cells. When applying makeup, I used more because it didn't feel hydrating enough, but over time, oil kept rising to the surface. This prevented my matte foundation from feeling too dry or cracking. I use dream lenses, which require sleeping with them in. However, when using this product, my eyes felt irritated and stung. When my eyes weren't in good condition, my vision felt blurry.
TipApply it with a cotton pad or use it with other products. I initially thought it could be used alone as an all-in-one product, but that wasn't the case. When layering, only apply 2-3 times.

The container design was also clean and simple. It's a white water toner, but before shaking, you can see a slightly more opaque white oil layer. As I've used oil toners before, using it after shaking wasn't awkward, and I mainly used it as an exfoliating toner. The best part is how well the oil and water layers mix. Even with a quick shake, the oil droplets don't clump together. Perhaps because of this, despite being an oil toner, it absorbs quickly and feels light. The oil glow fades relatively fast after application. I think this product fulfills its role as a toner effectively. Whether applied directly or with a cotton pad, it adequately smooths the skin texture and provides hydration. Although I only changed the toner in my routine, my skin felt more moisturized than before, and my makeup applied better. That's why I'm planning to switch from my previous toner. As someone with dry skin, using it alone wasn't enough, so I did apply cream afterward. However, I found that even a lighter cream than usual worked fine. For those with oily skin, I think you could try layering it alone or just adding a light moisturizer.
ConsSince rice is the main ingredient, I expected a nutty scent, but it has more of a citrus aroma, possibly due to the orange peel oil. When I first smelled it, the sharp scent was a bit off-putting. I can't be certain if it's because of that oil, but it did sting quite a bit on areas where I have atopic dermatitis. The stinging sensation subsided quickly after washing, and it didn't cause blemishes or worsen my atopic dermatitis. However, I wouldn't recommend it for those with super sensitive skin.
TipHere's a tip that I think applies to all oil toners: they're great for use in the cleansing step. Since the outer layer of makeup is dry, adding moisture before cleansing is less harsh on the skin and helps remove makeup more effectively. Many cleansing waters on the market have similar ingredients to regular toners, so toners can also be used for cleansing. Oil toners, in particular, cleanse even better than regular water toners due to the oil content. It's not about which is better, but rather about streamlining your skincare routine. Instead of using many products, it's about finding versatile ways to use one product that works well for you. In my case, after using a lip and eye makeup remover, I use the oil toner as an exfoliating toner. For light makeup, I skip foam cleansing and just rinse with water afterward. In the subsequent skincare steps, everything comes off clean without any residue on the cotton pad. Since I'm not using soap, it's much less drying for my skin.

While it feels rich when applying, after absorption, you only feel the hydration without any residue. The lightweight texture absorbs quickly, allowing for multiple applications without issue. With consistent use, I've noticed a calming effect on my skin.
ConsIt's fine when patted on, but rubbing it in causes intense tingling. It doesn't cause redness or blemishes, just an extreme tingling sensation. If I hadn't been selected for The Hwahae Testers, I probably would have used it once and tossed it.
TipEven if it's a hassle, it's best to only pat it in for absorption. Since there's a slight oiliness to the product before it's fully absorbed, it's better to wait until it's completely soaked in before using the next product. It's also recommended to pat on the following product as well.

I usually don't like products containing oil. I was a bit worried it might cause breakouts, but it's surprisingly refreshing, which made me realize my preconceptions were wrong. This could be great for those with combination dehydrated skin or dry skin like mine. I appreciated the eco-friendly packaging! Although I thought the oil content might be worse for blemishes, either due to this product or another, the small pimples or bumps I had actually improved.
ConsCons: The price feels a bit steep for a toner. It seems even pricier than the cream toner from a luxury brand... I didn't really notice much of a brightening effect. Maybe because it contains oil, there was a slight tingling sensation on the first day, but I quickly got used to it.
TipI use this oil toner after cleansing with a regular toner. I apply it generously to the back of my hand, gently wipe it over my face, then pat it in to finish. On particularly dry days, I soak a cotton pad with it and leave it on overnight - it feels like a super hydrating mask! My skin feels wonderfully moisturized the next morning.

First, despite being an oil toner, it's not too oily or sticky, which I really like. I've used other oil toners that felt sticky, but this one doesn't have that feeling at all - just a tiny bit, if anything! Secondly, it's great that it's a dual-functional cosmetic for both brightening and anti-wrinkle effects. While I haven't noticed dramatic changes yet, reviews from long-term users suggest that continued use shows results. I'll update my review if I notice any changes as I keep using it!
ConsThe first downside is the price. At 35,000 won, it's quite expensive for students, so I probably won't repurchase it. Secondly, I find that my skin tingles uncomfortably every time I use it, which makes me hesitant about continuing. My cheeks feel especially sensitive, and I worry about potential blemishes. While I haven't experienced any breakouts yet, I'm still cautious about using it.
TipI recommend applying it with your hands rather than using cotton pads. I found that using cotton pads made my skin feel more irritated. While everyone's skin is different, those with super sensitive skin might find this method works better for them.
