The adherence is great and the coverage is quite good. It finishes with a matte feel, which is perfect for long hours of mask-wearing these days! I love how it barely transfers to the mask and stays put on the skin. The color is neutral, so it looks natural. Usually, shade 21 is a bit light for me, but with this product, although it might seem bright at first, once it settles, it matches my natural complexion beautifully. I'm very satisfied! • Skin's oil and moisture balance - Those with dry skin should definitely focus on thorough moisturizing before applying this. I have slightly dry skin, and because this product has a matte finish, I felt quite dry after application. • Complexion - The Neutral 21 shade has a slightly more yellow undertone compared to typical 21 shades. It might look more natural on those with slightly yellow undertones, but it could appear a bit unnatural on very fair skin. • Try mixing with a moisturizer! - The product itself does have a matte, adherent finish, which can be drying. While proper skincare is important, mixing the product with a bit of moisturizer or oil can make it work well even in dry autumn and winter months. • Avoid damp sponges! - Many people use damp sponges to add moisture when applying foundation, right? I often do too, but this product adheres to the skin quickly and doesn't transfer well to a damp sponge, making it difficult to blend. It's important to use a dry sponge or gently pat it in with the warmth of your hands for this product. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinOct 7, 2020
Review from The Hwahae Testers I have dry skin and use shade 21, so I tried the Neutral 21. When I first received it, I was surprised by how yellow it looked, but the color you see when pumping is different from how it appears on the face. On the back of the hand - Looks like a yellow-based shade 22 On the face - A natural 21.5 (yellow base isn't very noticeable) I applied it using a sponge and cushion puff. 1. Adherence When applied thinly, it looks natural with decent coverage and good adherence 👍 However, it needs to be applied in a thin layer. If applied too thickly, it feels heavy and transfers onto masks easily. 2. Longevity + Breakdown When applied in the morning, it seems to last until the afternoon. At first, I thought it might settle into pores when breaking down, but after using it for a while, it wasn't noticeably problematic. *** Conclusion If the amount dispensed was easier to control and it was less drying, I would consider repurchasing. 1. Amount Control When using one full pump, the foundation applies too thickly! It would be better if the amount dispensed per pump could be adjusted. 2. Dryness As mentioned above, I have dry skin and use shade 21. It's fine when applied over a hydrating base, but when used alone, it's quite... very drying. Personally, I think it might be too dry for fall-winter use, but could work well in summer. I used a cushion puff to pat it on as thinly as possible. Also, using it over a hydrating base can help reduce the drying effect. - Hwahae UserOily SkinOct 7, 2020
The Hwahae Testers Review: Color: While many cushion foundations only come in shades 21 and 23, limiting options for those with different skin tones, this foundation matched my complexion perfectly! My previous product had a pink base that didn't suit me, but this one looks so natural - just like my own skin. (It seemed a bit dark when I swatched it on my hand, but it blended seamlessly on my face!) Coverage: I really enjoyed applying this foundation! It beautifully covered the blemishes I've been getting lately due to wearing masks. The coverage is just lovely. Adherence: It adheres thinly and well to the skin. I used to feel suffocated after long days out, from morning till late night at academy, often leading to blemishes. But this foundation applies thinly and beautifully. As time passes, it develops a natural glow, and even when it starts to fade, it does so gracefully. Mask Transfer: One of the key criteria for choosing makeup these days, right? Unfortunately, this foundation does transfer onto masks quite a bit. It might feel more noticeable to me since I'm used to matte formulas. Oily Skin: Those with oily skin might want to think twice. While it fades beautifully over time, it's not a matte formula, so it can get quite dewy. This might feel a bit uncomfortable if you're not used to it. I would repurchase this a hundred times over! I've always been disappointed with foundations and stuck to cushions, but this one is the real deal! It's truly amazing. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 7, 2020
It applies thinly and naturally. Given its affordable price, it's not a bad choice if you're looking for an inexpensive foundation! Just be sure to check out the pro tip below~ Also, compared to other foundations, it transfers less when wearing a mask. There are two reasons for the low rating. Firstly, I have warm-toned skin and usually use shade 21, but this product makes my skin look darker. Secondly, I typically apply foundation with my hands, and with other products, it washes off easily with soap. However, this one leaves a slippery residue on my hands. I was disappointed that it doesn't brighten my complexion and doesn't wash off well. I recommend getting a shade slightly lighter than your usual tone! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinOct 5, 2020
♡Review after being selected as a Hwahae Tester♡ As a foundation enthusiast who often uses foreign brands, I was thrilled with this product's compact size. It doesn't take up much space in my makeup pouch, which is fantastic. Although the color initially seemed a bit light, it naturally adjusted over time without any greyish tone-down (no ashy undertones). It adhered beautifully to my skin. First off, I'm really impressed with the ingredients. A tiny amount provides incredible coverage. The coverage is so perfect that you might not even need concealer. It seems to achieve that elusive 'thin yet full coverage' foundation we all dream of. As expected from a brand known for its concealers, I didn't have high hopes for their foundation. But I'm pleasantly surprised - it's just as satisfying as their concealers. It's less sticky than most, so I could lightly set it with powder and comfortably wear a mask. Despite my skin being prone to small blemishes from foundations, I didn't experience any significant breakouts in two weeks. I'm planning to purchase other shades. Given its great value for money, it might be fun to mix and match different colors. There weren't many downsides. Maybe if I had to nitpick, I wish each pump dispensed a slightly smaller amount? But since I usually use just a little bit anyway, I don't have any major complaints ♡ Using a wedge sponge, apply it in a dry state (I've tried various application methods, but for mask-wearing these days) It gives a wonderfully matte finish, making it great for mask makeup without much trouble. Even on darker skin tones, you can apply it in thin layers without much patchiness. It works well with both brushes and sponges. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 23, 2020
I applied it with a brush and loved how smoothly and moistly it went on! Usually, I layer liquid foundation multiple times, but with this product, one application provides great coverage. It's perfect for when you need coverage in a hurry. The color isn't too light and blends naturally with my skin tone. Although it applies moistly, it has a powdery finish, so it doesn't rub off even when wearing a mask in these times! I'm deducting half a star because it feels slightly dry within 2 hours after application. I think it's because I have dry skin and my condition isn't great... I recommend applying a rich, hydrating base. I'm also taking off another half star because the color has a slight yellow tinge when I expected a pink undertone. It's not extremely yellow, but compared to my usual cushion, it's a bit more yellow-toned. Make sure to apply a rich, hydrating base to avoid dryness! If you absolutely can't stand yellow tones, I recommend trying a different shade. Also, you don't need to apply multiple layers as the coverage is sufficient with just one application! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSep 17, 2020
Honestly, I had zero expectations for this, but after applying it, I kept exclaiming 'What is this? Wow!' in amazement. - Color: Used Neutral 21. Yellow base. It's about a 22 shade, so when applied, it initially looked too light with an ivory tone. However, as hours passed, it naturally adjusted to match my complexion. - Container: It's a pump type, but too much product comes out with one full pump. Only press it halfway. - Quantity: The biggest drawback. The amount is truly minuscule... - Texture: It's quite runny but doesn't drip when tilted. When applied to the back of my hand, it initially felt moisturizing like a typical liquid foundation, but the finish was surprisingly matte and powdery. - Application (5 stars): Goes on lightly as a thin liquid. I expected it to be matte on my face, but it wasn't particularly so. It doesn't apply moistly and finish powdery either. Instead, it gives a glossy, subtle, and fine glow. Some dewy foundations can make your face look oily, but this one gives a natural, soft radiance as if you're standing in perfect lighting. No tightness or dryness at all throughout the day. - Coverage (4 stars): This is where I was truly impressed. I can't believe a liquid foundation has this level of coverage. It conceals most blemishes well and even covers dark circles to some extent. Despite my large pores, it covered them and uneven texture nicely even without primer... Amazing! - Adherence (3 stars): Personally, it adheres and absorbs much better with a puff or sponge rather than a brush. It applies beautifully even when I'm sleep-deprived. No transfer onto masks, no caking, and no settling into pores. They clearly focused on adherence. However, depending on how you apply it, it can bunch up around the nose and emphasize dead skin cells. If you don't exfoliate before application, your face might turn into a flaky mess... - Longevity (5 stars): Even after going out in the morning and coming back in the evening, it didn't break down, disappear, or show any darkening. I was shocked to see that the subtle glow, almost like a highlighter, remained - it made me see The Saem in a new light. It seemed like the glow became even more natural and beautiful as it mixed with my skin's natural oils. Especially impressive was how it didn't break down in my T-zone where I have large pores, texture issues, and blackheads - it stayed perfect! * The drawbacks have been included in the above comprehensive review
