Unlike some cleansing oils that struggle with stubborn makeup or leave mascara residue, this cleanser removed everything effortlessly. The texture feels like touching ice cream - it becomes silky smooth as you massage it in. My skin usually reacts badly when I change products, but this didn't cause any irritation, which was fantastic. I typically dislike oily cleansers as I have super sensitive skin, but this vegan formula didn't upset my skin at all.
ConsBeing vegan, it didn't cause any blemishes. The only downside is that it doesn't seem to tackle excess oil effectively. Apart from that, everything else was great.
TipIf you massage the cleansing balm, then add water and massage again, it emulsifies and helps clear out blackheads.

User Experience As someone who's used cleansing oils, waters, and wipes before, this was my first time trying a cleansing balm. I was pleasantly surprised! The most exciting part was that instead of scooping it out of a jar with a spatula, you shave it off like a pencil. You can twist it to get just the amount you need, which I found really convenient. The feel of it was similar to other balm types, which I personally liked. 2. Texture The texture is soft and reminds me of a yellow ice cream sherbet. Like the user experience, it glides smoothly on the skin, melting on contact and allowing for easy rolling. It's the type that dissolves quickly. However, when I tried to emulsify it with water, it felt so slippery that I wasn't sure if it was emulsifying properly. 3. Scent The scent is closer to an ointment smell than a vitamin one. It's not an unpleasant medicinal scent though, more like a subtle fragrance that's almost unscented. Personally, I didn't mind it at all.
Cons1. Hygiene Although this cleansing balm is designed to be shaved off for hygienic use, I noticed that there were still some residual bits left after shaving. Even if you try to remove these by hand, some remain, so you need to clean it off with a tissue to use it hygienically. While this can't be helped, it was my biggest disappointment. 2. Sebum Removal Unlike cleansing oils where you can feel the sebum being drawn out during rolling, I didn't get that sensation with this balm type. I'm not sure if it actually removed sebum or not, but this aspect left me feeling a bit unsatisfied.
TipAfter use, make sure to wipe it clean with a tissue so it's ready for your next use!

While I'm not sure about point makeup, it removes foundation quite well. This was my first time using a cleansing balm after only using oil for my first cleanse. The grinding format made it very convenient to scoop out just the right amount for my face. It rolls on surprisingly well too. The scent reminds me of powdered lemonade...? It didn't bother me much, but I think it could be polarizing for some people.
ConsI used to use oil for sebum control, but this doesn't seem as effective for managing sebum compared to oil.

I usually only wear sunscreen and base makeup, rarely any heavy color makeup. This is my first time trying a cleansing balm, so I'm excited to share my Hwahae Testers review! The application method is so innovative and convenient for controlling the amount. The twist-to-dispense method is ingenious and seems hygienic! It's easier than scooping with fingers since the product comes out directly. The dual openings make it simple to control the amount. It effectively removes sunscreen and foundation. The most important thing is how well it cleanses, right? While I'm not sure about eye makeup, it thoroughly removes base makeup! Highly recommended for those who don't wear heavy makeup. It's gentle when massaging. The texture is an oily cream that melts nicely on the skin, making it easy to massage in circular motions. As I have sensitive skin, I try not to be too harsh during cleansing, and this product allows for just the right amount of gentle massage. The lid doesn't need to be twisted, just pressed to close. It's a small convenience, but I appreciate not having to twist the cap closed with balm-covered hands - just press it shut! Overall: Despite some minor drawbacks, it's user-friendly and generally effective, making it worth trying for the price. However, those who wear heavy eye makeup or want to remove blackheads and sebum might find it lacking. As someone with quite sensitive skin, I didn't experience any irritation or blemishes while using this.
ConsThe strong scent might be divisive. There's a vitamin or oil-like smell that might be fine for less sensitive people, but I didn't like the fragrance. It doesn't seem to be added perfume, more likely the natural scent of the ingredients. It's less effective at cleansing than cleansing oils. After using a blackhead-removing cleansing oil, I noticed this product was less effective at removing sebum. It's probably because it's less irritating overall. Dispensing can be messy. While the twist-to-dispense feature is innovative, the oily texture means it's not always clean when scooping it out. The opening can get a bit messy. I'd recommend using a spatula. Can't see how much is left. It feels substantial with its 50ml volume and weight, suggesting it will last a while. However, the packaging design makes it impossible to see how much is left, so it's hard to know when you're running low.
TipPro tip: Use a skincare spatula (like those for scooping out moisturizer) to dispense the cleansing balm for a cleaner application! This can help address one of the main drawbacks.
