Texture: As someone with dry skin, I love products that apply moistly! This BB cream is incredibly hydrating, which I adore! It makes my skin look fantastic. Blemishes: There have been a few times when I've had sudden evening plans and left it on out of laziness, but I'm pleased to say it didn't cause any blemishes! Darkening: The shade itself isn't particularly light, but perhaps due to its moisturizing nature, it seems to darken a bit on the skin. Color: I typically use shade 21 and prefer a bright complexion. This BB cream seems to be closer to shade 22 or 23, which is a bit dark for my liking, unfortunately. To compensate for the slightly darker shade and darkening effect, I've found that mixing it with a matte, lighter foundation or brightening moisturizer works well. I recommend giving that a try! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 2, 2024
This review is based on my experience using this product for over 24 hours, including sleeping, wearing a mask, and touching up my makeup. I recommend it for those with similar skin types to mine. Skin type: Combination dehydrated / Oily / Super sensitive / Blemishes / Pores / Warm tone 📍 Summary: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Makes skin look great! Or maybe my skin actually improved...? ❤️ Pros: It's amazing that you can sleep with it on, plus it's good for your skin! ❌ Cons: So hydrating that hair sticks to it (powder is a must) - Received on: 2024.06.28 (opened and started using) - Texture: Feels like a hydrating moisturizer - Hydration: So moisturizing you might mistake it for a hydrating cream - Absorption: Feels like it absorbs smoothly as you spread it - Moisturizing power: Usually my makeup breaks down after 5 hours, but not with this product - Application: Spreads easily with just your hands, like a cream - Longevity: Used for over 24 hours, even while sleeping, and it stayed moisturizing without looking messy - actually made my skin look better - Blemishes: Sleeping with BB cream on? Sounds terrible, but I had no breakouts and my skin even got a glow! - Scent: Smells like expensive skincare, which I liked (I'm not sensitive to fragrances) - Caking & Creasing: Didn't notice any at all - Brightening: Evens skin tone so naturally, as if it's my real complexion - Mask-wearing: Leaves less noticeable marks compared to foundation or powder. If marks appear, they absorb back into the skin when rubbed - perfect for frequent mask-wearers - Touch-ups: Easy to reapply with fingers on areas where makeup tends to wear off, like forehead, nose, and chin, without caking - As a sleeping pack: This is a game-changer! I often work late, so I apply this before work, work overnight, sleep, and head home in the morning - my skin looks amazing! I want to use it every day now when I go to work Cons: - Transfer: As it's a BB cream combining moisturizer, soothing cream, and coverage, its hydrating nature means some transfer is unavoidable - Coverage: Not recommended for those with lots of blemishes. It gives a natural, pretty tone correction, but might be too natural for those wanting blemish coverage - Darkening: The typical BB cream color darkening isn't noticeable immediately, but appears after about 5 hours as the product breaks down - Finish: So hydrating that others might mistake the glow for sweat - Sebum: If worn for long periods, oil may surface in the T-zone, which could be considered a drawback ⭐️ Powder Since it's as hydrating as a moisturizer, finishing with powder after application makes it look cleaner and last longer. ⭐️ Recommended for indoor use Expecting sun protection would be asking too much, right? There's no UV protection, so make sure to apply sunscreen first! ⭐️ Recommended for these situations: When exercising and sweating Working while wearing a mask Frequent overtime work Business trips When your skin needs a break from irritation When you want a break from frequent makeup use After laser treatments when skin is sensitive During your period when breakouts are common Planning an all-nighter with friends at a vacation rental When you want to pretend you're bare-faced but actually have some coverage Studying all day at the library - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJul 1, 2024
This BB cream really delivers on hydration, making it perfect for those with dry or combination dehydrated skin! I once accidentally fell asleep without washing my face, and surprisingly, no blemishes appeared. It's also great for a quick application before heading to the gym. I'm absolutely in love with it! As with most BB creams, there might be a slight darkening effect, though it's not too noticeable. For an extra radiant look, I recommend applying the Dalba Waterfull Tone-Up Sun Cream after this BB cream. It really brightens up your complexion! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJun 28, 2024
As someone who usually uses shade 21, I found this slightly darker, but I didn't mind as it's typical for BB creams. It wasn't one of those BB creams with an extreme ashy undertone either. The coverage isn't as high as foundation, but it provides a natural-looking cover that's perfect for daily use. It was great for those rushed mornings before work. True to BB cream nature, it has excellent absorbs and feels great on the skin. It's not thick or heavy, but glides on smoothly, making it easy to blend with foundation too. The ingredients are skin-friendly, making it comfortable to wear. I didn't experience any irritation, blemishes, or other skin issues. As someone with oily skin, I did notice a bit of richness, and some darkening of the product over time. It's a shame that it doesn't have sun protection, so you definitely need to apply sunscreen beforehand. However, when you consider that the ingredients are so gentle you could use it as an overnight mask, it makes sense. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 28, 2024
1. Rich hydration The moisturizing effect is so intense you can feel it on your fingertips as you apply it to your face. My skin stayed incredibly hydrated for hours after application, and the hydration even gives my face a glow! 2. Absorbs well The formula is quite fluid, leaning towards a watery consistency, making it easy to spread thinly on the face without needing any tools. 3. Gentle ingredients/No blemishes I love that it's composed of gentle ingredients, which aligns with its calming claims. There are no pore-clogging components, so it doesn't cause any blemishes - that's fantastic! 1. Coverage The coverage isn't very strong, so you might need to add concealer when doing a full makeup look. However, this makes it perfect for daily use! I found it great for everyday work makeup as it provides natural coverage and brightens the complexion. 2. Darkening is an unavoidable aspect of BB creams in my opinion. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJun 27, 2024
Skin type: Dry I typically use pads -> serum -> cream -> foundation, but I used this BB cream in place of foundation. - It's said to be good for extremely dry skin, and it truly felt moisturizing. - I was on my period, but it caused no irritation to my sensitive skin and worked wonderfully as a base. - There's no powdery or matte finish; it's a hydrating BB cream that's perfect for everyday light wear. - Usually, I only use cushion foundation when going out, not for work, but this was ideal for daily use. - As it's designed for skin protection, I used it without worry on sensitive days. - There's absolutely no pilling or sliding. - It's so moisturizing that a small amount covers the whole face. - Highly recommended for light complexion correction! - The texture is thick, but it absorbs well. - Achieves a glowy look. - Feels like it's improving the skin. Doesn't accentuate dead skin cells, so it's great for covering pores. - You can layer it like a cream without feeling heavy. - It has very little coverage. Good for evening out skin tone, but not recommended for those with blemishes or wanting more coverage. I liked it for daily use to hide dullness. It's gentle on the skin. - The amount is too small for the price. I was surprised by how little product there is. Apparently, it needs to be used quickly after opening, which might explain the small quantity. - There is some darkening. Skin looks good for 3-4 hours, but then it darkens... It doesn't get oily though. But since there's no pilling or lifting even when reapplied like a cream, you can just touch up. - The price. I really liked it and wanted to repurchase when I finished it, but the price makes me hesitate. There are many other good products these days for less... It works well mixed with moisturizer too, as it doesn't pill at all. It's great as a base, and because it's so hydrating, it's also good for touch-ups. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 27, 2024
Skin condition: redness, pores, super sensitive skin, combination dehydrated skin It seems to apply smoothly and moisturize well. While it may not provide the most robust skincare, if applied to dry skin, it can highlight dead skin cells. However, it doesn't excessively emphasize this, so I found it okay! The scent is subjective, but it's not overpowering. I never go out bare-faced, even when exercising, but I wore this BB cream to the gym! I was pleasantly surprised by how gracefully it wore off, and it didn't cause any blemishes. Very satisfied!!! Darkening is inevitable, but the color itself seems a bit dark. So rather than for going out, I used it when heading to the gym or for quick errands. It's not too light, so it gives a natural, bare-faced look, which I liked. - Hwahae UserDry SkinJun 25, 2024
- Absorbs: After using foundation and cushions for so long, I was surprised at how well this BB cream applies. It glides on smoothly even with just fingers, and layers well over makeup. - Hydration: The moisturizing formula is easy to apply without any special tools, leaving skin feeling comfortable. - A regenerating BB cream that's gentle enough to wear overnight is a big plus. 1st photo: The right side shows the BB cream applied, with a subtle brightening and skin-evening effect. 2nd photo: BB cream applied by hand over skincare. Covers like a natural skin look. 3rd photo: Applied over foundation after some time had passed. Impressed that it didn't cause pilling and blended seamlessly. Great for touch-ups. Recommended for those who: - Need just a bit of brightening and complexion evening, not heavy coverage - Prioritize skin comfort - Scent: Has a very typical cosmetic fragrance. Stronger than expected, so not recommended for those sensitive to scents. - Coverage: Barely any coverage. Just about a half-shade of brightening. - Darkening: After 2-3 hours, it fades to almost bare skin. Tends to darken over time. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 24, 2024
Note: The photo was taken 10 hours after application, with no touch-ups! I usually wear a brightening moisturizer with SPF to work, but I was considering trying something with more coverage. That's when the Alexander Kim's Co Royal BB Cream caught my eye! The description made it sound like it could be smoothly applied like an emulsion, perfect for my daily work routine. Plus, since I'm often too lazy to wash my face before bed (haha), a BB cream I could sleep in? This seemed made for me! At first application, I was a bit surprised. I expected it to be as fluid as an emulsion, but it was more like a typical BB cream. However, it was quite moisturizing - even with minimal skincare prep, it adhered perfectly without any patchiness. I was worried about the grayish cast typical of BB creams, but there was absolutely none! The color was similar to a foundation. BB creams have really improved! The color is a bit on the darker side though. I'm usually a light 21 shade, and while it matched well initially, it seemed to darken slightly over time. I'd say it's between a 22 and a light 23 shade. As someone with extremely oily skin, I usually get greasy very quickly. But with this, I stayed matte without feeling dry - amazing! The only downside was the very artificial fragrance, which was disappointing. Oh, and the coverage is medium. <Pros> 1. Applies smoothly - moisturizing without being too oily! 2. Wears beautifully throughout the day! 3. Didn't cause any blemishes even when I slept with it on! <Cons> 1. Slight darkening effect and the shade itself is a bit dark! 2. The fragrance is artificial. As mentioned above, the shade is a bit dark! There's some darkening over time! (Though I liked that it didn't have the typical grayish cast of BB creams) And it has an artificial scent. That typical artificial BB cream smell... It seemed to linger for about 30 minutes after application. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJun 21, 2024
✏️ Usage period: 30°C summer ✏️ Skin type: Extremely dry 🩷 Application: I applied it with a spatula and patted it in with a cushion puff. It goes on smoothly! It doesn't dry too quickly, nor does it stay so wet that my hair sticks to it like seaweed. I really liked that. 🩷 Skin appearance: It gives a natural glow that makes your skin texture look amazing! The glow looks natural, not oily. 🩷 Hydration: Right after application, it feels as moisturizing as a hydrating cream. As it absorbs, it maintains a nice level of hydration. 🩵 Color: It was too dark for my skin tone (I usually use cushion shade 21). 🩵 Darkening: It tends to darken a bit. This effect worsens as time passes after application. 🩵 Coverage: It has almost no coverage to speak of. Due to its hydrating properties, I think this product would be great for use in winter!
