As someone who doesn't wear makeup often, I use this BB cream like a primer when I do. The texture is a bit thick, but it applies smoothly and evenly. My skin tone is between 21 and 23, and this cream naturally brightens my complexion by about one shade without looking unnatural, which I love. It has a strong floral scent, reminiscent of acacia. I have combination dehydrated skin that tends to get oily in summer, but this BB cream's high hydration and nourishing properties seem to balance it out, though my face does get a bit dewy over time. You need to apply sunscreen separately, which might feel heavy on the skin in summer. It doesn't have enough coverage to conceal large pores, so it's better suited for those with already good skin who just want to even out their skin tone. The price point is also a bit high, which is disappointing. If you tend to sweat a lot, try blotting your face with oil-absorbing sheets after applying the BB cream. This seems to help maintain a matte finish for longer. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 5, 2024
* The world's first BB cream infused with soothing, hydrating, and covering properties! * 100% directly imported from Germany / First Korean BB cream to receive FDA certification 1. Conceals imperfections and improves skin elasticity 2. Soothes skin from UV rays and external irritants 3. Provides moisturizing effects comparable to ampoules 4. Functions as an overnight soothing hydration mask 5. Uses herbal ingredients as main components: - Virginia meadowsweet leaf extract - Spanish licorice root extract - Stone bean oil - Allantoin - Panthenol I often saw Alexander Kim's Co Royal BB at skincare clinics, but I tried it for the first time thanks to The Hwahae Testers. The texture feels like a soothing cream, and it's incredibly moisturizing! After applying with a spatula and blending with a sponge, it doesn't feel thick or pill at all. There's minimal fading, and it seems to blend well with the skin's natural oils. I experienced no clogged pores or blemishes whatsoever. While it generally covers blemishes, the coverage isn't particularly high. I found that layering a more coverage-focused product over this BB cream resulted in a beautiful complexion. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinJul 5, 2024
Personal skin profile: - Tends to break down easily due to excessive sweating in summer - Experiences deep dryness, often feeling tight underneath - Loves Clio's Linen color for its natural look and Lingerie color for its brightening effect - Shade 21 - Skin type that doesn't easily achieve a glow Texture: It's quite thick. Even a small amount spreads well, covering the whole face with some leftover. It's best to squeeze out just a little carefully. Scent: It has a herbal or glue-like scent. Since you apply it close to your nose, the smell lingers. Pros: Hydrating + Glowing Doesn't budge (sweat-resistant) - Even with a good skincare routine, my skin usually cracks due to dead skin cells by afternoon, but this keeps it looking smooth and fresh Natural color for shade 21 (no grayish cast) - I had low expectations since there's only one shade, and was worried it might darken my skin, but it looked surprisingly natural Skin felt very tight in humid conditions. The color isn't particularly brightening Expensive price point Lacks coverage and doesn't even out skin tone Since it neither evens out my complexion nor provides coverage, I probably wouldn't spend the money on this again. Quite disappointing. Apply BB cream all over, then use concealer just for blemishes - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 5, 2024
Duration: Used from June 30 to July 5 Texture: Has an emulsion-like consistency that applies smoothly! Even when applied by hand, it feels non-sticky upon finishing, making it suitable for use even in summer without feeling heavy Color: Compared to my VDL Cover Stain Perfecting Cushion in V02, it's slightly darker. The color is very close to my natural skin tone, so while it might not provide enough coverage when used alone, it's great for evening out the complexion! (My hand looks a bit dark in the photo, sorry!) Blemishes: I have super sensitive skin, but I haven't experienced any breakouts after using this product! The coverage is a bit lacking for makeup use, especially considering the price for the amount you get! I think it would work well if you use it as a thin base layer or mix it with your foundation! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJul 5, 2024
- It gives an instant glow when applied - Thanks to the ampoule, you can feel the hydration immediately after application - It absorbs well - Great for when you want a simple skincare routine - this one product does it all! - The fragrance is quite strong. As someone sensitive to scents, this was a downside for me - The shade was a bit dark for me, as I usually use shade 19 - It doesn't cover blemishes, so I'll likely use it for quick, basic skincare - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 5, 2024
As someone with combination dehydrated skin, thin skin prone to redness, and super sensitive skin, I'm very particular about ingredients when choosing cosmetics. Natural oils and products with high oil content don't suit me well - I prefer a balanced formula. Due to these skin concerns, I don't wear much makeup. That's why I love BB creams. I'm usually just looking for something to even my skin tone naturally, so I've always sought out BB creams with good ingredients. For this BB cream: I typically wear it for about 5 hours max. I've tried applying it both over sunscreen and directly on bare skin. It provides a natural brightening effect. I usually go for a shade between 21 and 23 to match my neck, which is darker than my face. This shade seems perfect for my skin tone and would likely work well for those who use 21 too. It looks very natural. I also enjoy the subtle rose-like scent. Now, let's move on to the less positive aspects. Don't expect much coverage - it is a BB cream after all. I never expect much coverage from BB creams anyway. However, even when I skipped sunscreen, it barely covered my freckles. It seems to provide less coverage compared to other BB creams. While the staying power seems good, I'm not thrilled with how it makes my skin look. From the moment I applied it, I wasn't impressed with the finish. I have visible pores, and compared to other products, this made my skin look a bit oily and dry at the same time. I didn't wear it for very long, but the staying power seems good. It looked the same after 5 hours of walking, sun exposure, and sweating as it did right after application. However, it seems to highlight skin imperfections, which is disappointing. The ingredients list is really disappointing. If it weren't for this, I'd probably continue using it as my go-to BB cream, regardless of the coverage. It doesn't cause any blemishes, which is why I'm torn. If I felt more confident about the ingredients, I'd have no reason not to use it. Even though it might highlight some skin imperfections, I usually wear BB cream as a bare minimum 'polite appearance' effort when going out. If the ingredients were better, I'd probably keep using it. I don't have any specific tips to recommend for this product. My usual skincare routine includes Innisfree Aloe Vera Gel, and in summer, I use Real Derma Medical Cream MD (a first-degree burn medical device cream) because my redness gets severe with sun and heat exposure - I literally get sunburned without it. I also use Innisfree sunscreen. For everyday makeup, I usually use the HERA Glow Cushion and Yuri Pibu BB cream, which work great for me. This BB cream just didn't work as well. Maybe my skin changed in the past couple of weeks... Anyway, I don't have any tips to share as I couldn't make this BB cream look good on me. I'll keep trying though! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinJul 5, 2024
Skin type - I'm prone to blemishes, have combination dehydrated skin with enlarged pores, and noticeable skin texture. Texture - It's not runny but has a slightly thick consistency that absorbs well. Scent - Although fragrance is added, it's not overpowering, which I found pleasant. Feel on skin - It maintains good hydration and naturally evens skin tone, giving a 'no-makeup makeup' look that I really like. The downside is that the coverage is a bit light. While it's great for evening out the complexion, when you need more coverage, you have to apply extra product to specific areas, which can be a bit of a hassle. Still, compared to my previous makeup routine, it doesn't feel heavy or suffocating on the skin, which is a plus! As mentioned earlier, due to the light coverage, you might want to use a concealer or cushion foundation on areas that need more coverage for an even better result! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJul 5, 2024
A BB cream you can sleep in? I was so curious about this unique product I'd never tried before! Application: It glides on smoothly without any special technique needed. It feels more like a moisturizer than makeup, making it super easy to apply. After application, there's a subtle glow thanks to its hydrating properties, which I really enjoyed. Experience: Since I have quite a bit to cover on my skin, I didn't expect perfect coverage from this type of cream. However, I was really satisfied using it for quick errands, light outings, or as a 'bare face' cream. Sometimes when I go out completely bare-faced, I feel self-conscious when I catch my reflection, thinking my skin looks worse than at home. But with this on, my large pores were somewhat concealed and my overall complexion looked more even, which I loved. While it didn't necessarily brighten my skin, that actually worked in its favor, creating a truly natural 'bare skin' look that just made my complexion appear healthier. I've always been concerned about my large pores, but this cream naturally filled them in, making me feel more confident when I look in the mirror! This product would be perfect for those times when you want to look naturally bare-faced on vacation but lack confidence in your skin. The fact that you can sleep with it on is an added bonus! However, it doesn't provide much brightening, so if you're looking for a product to make your skin look radiant, this might not be for you. As someone concerned about pores and uneven pigmentation, I found myself reaching for this when I wanted something between bare skin and full makeup. It conceals just enough to make me feel comfortable. Drawbacks: As mentioned earlier, it doesn't brighten or add radiance to the skin. Also, if you're expecting coverage like a typical BB cream, you'll be disappointed. It's great for achieving a natural, bare-faced look, but if you're after a brightening effect, this product won't suit your needs. Surprisingly, it looks even more natural than a brightening moisturizer! The way it subtly covers pores makes it perfect for faking a bare-faced look. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinJul 4, 2024
In the photo, the left hand has the product applied, while the right hand doesn't. - It doesn't irritate the skin and can be applied lightly - Perfect for those who prefer a natural makeup look - The shade (I use 22-23 in summer) evens skin tone naturally, great for complexion correction - While I'm not sure if you can truly sleep without washing it off, it definitely provides intense hydration - Not recommended for oily skin during summer - The coverage is low, so it's really only suitable for evening out skin tone - Might be hesitant to purchase unless it's on sale Even for oily skin, after applying this BB cream, you can lightly cover areas that need more coverage with concealer and finish with a touch of powder. This makes it fairly wearable even in summer! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinJul 4, 2024
Top photo: Shuremake Bottom: Alexander Kim's Co I have dry, sensitive skin prone to redness! To cut to the chase, I'm considering switching from Shuremake! Planning to purchase this once I finish my current one! 1. A BB cream that brightens I've been a huge fan of Shuremake's regenerating BB cream for my skin with severe redness and flushing. However, Shuremake has a strong grayish tone, so I've been using it mainly on areas with redness. This BB cream, on the other hand, has less of a gray cast compared to Shuremake and has a brighter color, making it great for all-over use. 2. Gentle and comfortable on the skin With my sensitive skin, most base products feel heavy, but this BB cream feels as comfortable as skincare. 3. Moisturizing Despite my very dry skin, it keeps my skin hydrated without any dryness for over 6 hours after application. 1. Redness coverage While the bright color is a big advantage for a BB cream, the flip side is that it has slightly less coverage for redness compared to BB creams with a strong gray cast. Still, it can adequately cover most cases of flushed skin! 2. Price The product is great, but the price is a bit steep. Despite that, I'm still considering purchasing it.
