First off, I have sensitive, oily skin. I usually alternate between gentle products and those that focus on barrier care. I was grateful for the opportunity to try Zeroid, a brand famous for barrier care and often prescribed by dermatologists, thanks to being selected as a Hwahae Tester. Pros: • It's gentle - As someone with super sensitive skin, I could use it comfortably without any adjustment period. • Light texture despite high hydration - I tried it during the transitional season between winter and spring, and the hydration was undeniably good. Plus, it absorbs well, making it really convenient to use. • Improves skin barrier - I've tried other creams known for barrier improvement, and both worked well for me. This one seems particularly suitable for winter and seasonal changes.
ConsFor oily skin like mine, it caused some minor blemishes. A tip would be to apply a smaller amount.

First off, the texture is firm when squeezed out, not runny, which aligns with the ointment-like description. However, it spreads incredibly smoothly upon contact with the skin and absorbs well, which I found quite impressive! Personally, I didn't notice any particular scent while using this product, so I don't think it'll be a polarizing factor. I actually preferred the lack of any strange odor. The product itself isn't too oily or drying. It seems to have gentle ingredients, as when I had 2-3 small blemishes on my chin, applying this before bed resulted in one of them subsiding by the next morning, which I was quite satisfied with. Also, during a week of use, I didn't experience any new breakouts, though I'm not certain if this is due to this product or my regular skincare routine.
ConsAs many others have mentioned, the 40ml size feels a bit small. Even when applying small amounts to specific areas, it seems like it'll run out quickly, which is disappointing. Additionally, after about a week of use, I'm not entirely convinced that my skin barrier has become significantly stronger. It's a bit ambiguous, you could say. For example, my sister, who has redness-prone skin, used the product along with me, but as I'm writing this review, her redness remains unchanged from before use. It's hard to tell if this is because the usage period has been too short, or if we need to use it for longer to see results.
TipFor those needing overall skin barrier reinforcement, it might be okay to apply this all over the face. However, I found it more effective to first apply my regular ampoule and cream, then use this product only on areas that need extra barrier strengthening, rather than relying on this product alone for the entire face.

As someone who's always on the hunt for the perfect cream, I'm impressed by how well it absorbs, its texture, and its effectiveness. It's become a go-to product, and I'll likely repurchase when I run out! Layering it twice in the evening leaves my skin feeling incredibly comfortable the next day! It's also great for reducing redness and inflammation. This cream seems perfect for combination dehydrated, oily, and super sensitive skin types!
ConsThe only slight drawback was that it felt a bit drying... However, blending it with a touch of jojoba oil easily addressed this issue, so it wasn't a major inconvenience.
TipFor best results, apply a layer all over your face, then gently pat an extra thin layer on particularly sensitive areas.

It's more hydrating than the Zeroid Soothing Cream I've used before. Given its rich formula, it's better used as a moisturizer topper rather than alone, as suggested. Despite being a balm, it absorbs well!
ConsLike La Roche-Posay B5, it can feel a bit heavy and warm when applied all over, making it challenging to use on the entire face. I've been using it as a spot treatment on blemishes instead. Personally, I'm not sure about its soothing effects. It might work well for those who are used to ointment-like textures such as Bepanthen or B5 creams.

After receiving this product, I diligently applied it as the final step in my morning and evening skincare routine. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my skin no longer felt tight and actually felt great! What's especially nice is that it doesn't cause any breakouts, so I can carry it with me when I go out and reapply if my skin feels dry. I appreciate that it's fragrance-free, as I'm not a fan of artificial scents. The texture absorbs well, gliding on smoothly. The tube packaging makes it convenient to carry around. I even applied it to my lips!
ConsWhile the tube packaging is convenient for carrying, the amount is quite small, so it runs out quickly.
TipMy routine involves applying hydrating products generously as a base, then finishing with this product. When I'm out, I carry it with me to reapply on dry areas. I use it on my lips too. Personally, I prefer this product over lip balm.

I was surprised by the texture - I thought it would be very thick like a night cream, but it's actually quite nice to apply, with a moderate richness. It's also fragrance-free, which is great for those with sensitive noses. Being a medical-grade product, the ingredients are generally gentle. However, if you have super sensitive skin, it's always good to check the ingredient list and do a patch test first. While the hydration is decent, it might not be enough for the dead of winter on its own. I'd recommend layering it with another cream for extra moisture, especially at night as part of your evening skincare routine.
ConsIt's too early for me to tell if it's really improving my skin barrier - I'll need to use it for longer to see those effects. Also, the amount you get for the price feels a bit on the small side, which is disappointing.
TipIf you find it's not quite moisturizing enough on its own, try mixing it with another cream or applying it as the final step in your routine for an extra boost of hydration. You could also blend it with a facial oil or serum for added nourishment. While it works well all over the face, you might find it particularly effective if you focus on areas that need extra moisture.

[Good absorption but lacks hydration] This ointment-type cream absorbs immediately upon application. However, it feels lacking in moisture, and perhaps due to this, there's a delayed sensation of richness. The dryness is tolerable, but right after application, you can sense a lack of hydration. [Skin damage and barrier care] This cream isn't recommended based on skin types like dry or oily, but rather when you feel your skin is damaged or exposed to harsh external factors. It's not ideal for daily use due to its small size, and the improvement in skin barrier isn't dramatically noticeable. [Quality ingredients] I applied it without any blemishes, and as expected, Zeroid has great ingredients! The composition, which includes components beneficial for the skin barrier, clearly demonstrates the product's unique performance.
Cons[Lack of hydration] Even after applying a hydrating and nourishing serum before the cream, I still felt it lacked moisture. It was inconvenient to either add extra hydration or endure the dryness. [Size and price] I think it's too small and expensive to buy for daily use, but if your skin damage isn't severe, it might be fine to apply periodically when your skin condition deteriorates.
TipIf you have dry skin, using this product along with something that provides hydration will improve the overall experience.

Incredible hydration - Just one application and you'll feel the difference. It's hard to describe, but your skin feels incredibly comfortable and intensely moisturized. The hydration isn't just temporary; it's long-lasting. This is truly the most deeply hydrating product I've tried recently. 2. Easy application - Despite its rich consistency, it doesn't run. The texture is somewhere between a cream and a balm, making it easy to apply. It's so moisturizing, which makes it even better. 3. Comfortable skin - First off, it hydrates so well that your skin feels comfortable. When hydration is taken care of, you'll notice fewer blemishes and an improved complexion. You can feel the difference after just one or two uses.
ConsWhile the small amount for the price might seem expensive, the effectiveness makes it understandable. It may not suit those with very oily skin. It's perfect for combination to dry skin types.
TipFor best results, boost your skin's hydration with toner and serum before applying this. Your skin will feel incredibly moisturized.

ConsThe reason for the 3-star rating... Quantity for the price... Looking at the recommended usage, it suggests applying this over your existing moisturizer for better results. However, I question whether it's necessary to purchase this additional moisturizer at this price point and quantity just to layer it. I've been using other brands known for sensitive skin care alongside Zeroid for 3 years (with occasional Zeroid use). My usual method was to apply a thin layer of moisturizer twice. Compared to this method, I didn't see enough additional benefits (in terms of soothing or hydration) to justify buying this product separately. If you already have a moisturizer (not including functional products), it seems better to just apply that in two thin layers. Additionally, I wouldn't recommend using this product alone...
TipUse as recommended by layering over your existing moisturizer

I thought it would be thick since it's an SOS Plus Balm, but it's more like an emulsion than I expected. What I really loved was when my face got itchy recently and I scratched it, causing a wound... Regular toner stung, but when I remembered to apply the Zeroid SOS Balm, it didn't hurt at all and provided sufficient hydration, which was a relief. It's somewhere between an emulsion and a cream, absorbs well, and doesn't leave a sticky finish. Unlike the original MD cream, you don't need to reapply for adequate moisture. I'm satisfied and would repurchase.
ConsThe size is small! That's the only downside. Please make a body version too.
TipWhile the texture is like an emulsion, when it meets water-based products like toners or essences, it can feel a bit slippery, similar to how foundation sometimes doesn't apply smoothly. So make sure to apply it after your toner and essence have fully absorbed.
