Less oily, it applies evenly all over the face without pilling. Absorption: Being a balm, it doesn't absorb as quickly as a water-based moisturizer. However, it sinks in within a minute, so it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. Hydration: As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I found it provided just the right amount of moisture. However, I did experience some blemishes on my forehead where I have more active oil glands. It's important to adjust the amount based on your skin's needs. Scent: It's fragrance-free. You can only detect the natural scent of the ingredients, which makes me feel like they've truly focused on skincare effectiveness.
ConsWhile it's a well-known product, the price-to-quantity ratio is quite disappointing.
TipFor areas with more active oil glands, it's best to apply only a small amount or use it as a spot treatment for better results!

In winter evenings, I usually layer an emulsion and barrier cream with an intensive cream, but this product was really satisfying as it provided great hydration and soothing effects with just a small amount. Being an intensive balm, it's a bit rich, but not to the point of being greasy - it's perfect for winter night care! As the weather is starting to warm up, I wish I had used it earlier to enjoy its benefits throughout the winter. I've tried La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm, Bioderma PP Balm, and Bioderma Cicabio Pommade Cream, but personally, I like the Bioderma PP Balm and Zeroid Intensive Balm the best! The texture is just right, and it spreads easily, making it a joy to apply.
ConsSince it's a moisturizing product, I don't think I'll be able to use it when it gets warmer. It's great for layering over an emulsion or moisturizer in winter. While it's good, it's a bit pricey for the amount you get, so I'm on the fence about repurchasing.

In winter, my arms and legs get extremely dry and itchy in patches, so I applied it mainly to these areas. I could definitely feel it soothing and protecting my irritated skin while being gentle. Rather than during the day, I applied it before bed, and when I woke up in the morning, my skin felt soft and had less dead skin cells! On days when my face felt extremely tight, I squeezed out a tiny amount, about the size of a dot, and applied it thinly. Even with this small amount, the rich texture provided sufficient hydration. It's truly a thick, rich balm, so I couldn't use it daily, but it's great to apply like a sleeping cream over just toner when your skin needs a break! I mainly applied it to my knees and arms, and it was great for calming sensitive, chicken skin-like bumps. After sleeping with this on, my skin definitely became softer and the itching disappeared! This would be perfect for those with super sensitive skin who can't use just anything, people with atopic dermatitis, and even babies or pregnant women.
ConsIf I had to nitpick, maybe the small quantity could be seen as a downside. To be honest, I haven't really found anything significantly disappointing about it yet. If I had to mention something, perhaps the quantity and price?? It's not extremely expensive, but somehow... there's just a slight feeling of... something lacking in terms of the price point.
TipFor combination dehydrated or oily skin (face), I recommend using just toner and emulsion, or toner, essence, and ampoule, then applying a tiny dot of the balm spread thinly! For those with sensitive body skin, I also recommend using it on your body!

Scent: The fragrance is so mild it's barely noticeable, so it won't cause headaches! Texture: Slightly ointment-like consistency mixed with a moisturizing cream feel. It's similar in texture to the A***barrier cream from E***tra! Absorption: While I didn't experience an intense cooling effect or a surge of hydration, the areas where I applied it felt noticeably softer to the touch. (It left a kind of velvety finish?) Application: It has a rich consistency and feels like an ointment, so it's a bit thick when applying. Usage area: I have an extremely dry area on my neck that gets itchy and red. After applying this cream consistently for about a week, the itchiness disappeared and my skin condition improved significantly.
ConsTexture: The thick consistency makes it somewhat challenging to apply by hand. Price: Considering the price, the quantity seems rather small. Effectiveness: It doesn't provide dramatic results immediately. Consistent use is necessary for noticeable improvements.
TipFor best results, apply frequently to areas that are red from scratching or extremely dry, and add an extra layer before bedtime.

It definitely helped calm my redness! Texture True to Zeroid's style, I appreciated the fragrance-free formula. Unlike other intensive balms that feel thick, the Zeroid Intensive SOS Balm has a soft, cream-like texture that's pleasant to use on its own! If you warm it up in your hands and let it absorb fully, it's moisturizing enough to use under makeup, allowing your base to apply smoothly. Moisturizing Effect As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I tend to avoid heavy formulas that feel like they're clogging my pores. The Zeroid Intensive Balm has a moisturizing cream feel that's perfect as the final step in my skincare routine!
ConsSince Zeroid is a product prescribed by dermatologists, it's a shame that the quantity is small and the price is a bit high.

My 7-month-old baby has inherited my atopic skin, so I've been paying extra attention. This led me to discover Atopalm and Neopharm products, and I learned that Zeroid cream, prescribed by doctors, is from the same company. I compared it with Zeroid Intensive Rich MD Cream, MLE Cream, and Panthenol Cream that I already had at home. (I squeezed them out in the order shown in the photo for comparison.) The SOS Balm has an ointment-like texture, which seems beneficial. I don't find the scent particularly bothersome. (I'm not sure if it's fragrance-free, but that would be even better!) When my baby had a red, irritated area, I applied cream and then this balm on top. While I can't be certain it was solely due to the SOS Balm, I did notice the redness subsiding. Knowing it helps with quick soothing gives me a sense of security, like having a reliable first-aid essential on hand.
ConsI don't have any specific complaints about the product, but considering its small size, the price isn't particularly cheap. If it were discounted, it might be more accessible to new users.
TipWanting to use it on my baby, I called customer service for the first time and received a friendly response. They confirmed it's safe for babies and reiterated the tip mentioned on the back of the product. They recommended applying it after a moisturizer (cream), which is exactly what I did - I applied the baby's cream first, then layered this on top. Moving forward, I'll make sure to always use it over a cream.

Application: Glides on smoothly. However, due to its rich oil content, it may not apply evenly if your skin is damp. Make sure to fully absorb your toner or other hydrating products before use. Absorption: Absorbs faster compared to other products. Quickly sinks in unless you apply too much. Stickiness: As expected from a balm, there is some stickiness. Moisturizing power: My rough skin felt soothed and softened after application. It's quite moisturizing and likely suitable for dry skin types. User experience: I have combination dehydrated skin. It's quite rich, so I mainly used it at night as it felt too heavy for daytime use. Checking my skin in the morning after using it, I noticed it felt much softer. I used it frequently when my skin was acting up. However, with daily use, I experienced itching and blemishes. I recommend avoiding it when your skin is super sensitive. For oily skin types, I suggest using it every 2-3 days in the evening rather than daily.
ConsScent: It has an ointment-like or herbal scent that might be polarizing. Personally, I'm not a fan. Price: The quantity is small for the price point.
TipI don't recommend using this when your skin is extremely sensitive. For oily skin types, I suggest applying a thin layer and using it every other day.

Recommended skin types: Atopic, dry, sensitive Product effectiveness: 5/5 I have atopic, sensitive, and extremely dry skin. In winter, my skin tends to flake and become red. My moisturizer had run out, causing flaking around my eyes and nose. After using this product, the redness and flaking improved significantly (starting from day 2 and gradually getting better). The uneven redness and small blemishes that were about to appear gradually improved, which clearly shows it helped with skin soothing and barrier improvement. Despite its rich texture, which I didn't expect to like, I was satisfied that it even slightly evened out my skin texture. I use it with my usual moisturizer, and compared to my previous cream (which I used to apply 1-2 more times before bed), the lasting power was not bad, and I didn't need to reapply before sleeping. It's been a while since I've been satisfied with a rich cream. Texture: 5/5 The texture is between an ointment and a cream (justifiably rich and absorbs well, similar to a vitamin ointment), and it's on the thinner side for a balm. Unlike other balm products that are difficult to spread, this one is easy to apply and absorbs well, giving a good first impression. Note that as a balm-type product, it focuses more on oil and skin barrier improvement rather than intense hydration. Scent: 3/5 The scent is from the raw ingredients without added fragrances - it smells a bit like raw potatoes or cardboard. While not a pleasant fragrance, as someone with sensitive and atopic skin, I much prefer this to artificial and strong fragrances. It didn't cause any discomfort or headaches, so it was fine for me.
ConsThe price is a bit on the higher side, and the scent could be improved. I'd like to purchase it when it's on sale or part of a special promotion on Hwahae.
TipFor those with dry or combination dehydrated skin, make sure to apply your moisturizer first, then layer this on top. You'll feel double the effect and your skin texture will improve tremendously!

This balm-type product is perfect for winter when skin easily dries out, and if applied thinly, it could work well in spring and fall too. Being a balm, it might be a bit heavy for summer use. Hydration: I used a light moisturizer for daytime makeup, but applied this only at night. My skin stayed hydrated until the next day, which helped my makeup go on smoothly. Application and absorption: Compared to La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm, Zeroid has better spreadability. It feels more like a rich cream than a balm, and I love that it applies thinly without leaving a white cast. It absorbs quickly, making it easy to layer if needed. Soothing: I usually have some redness, but the Zeroid SOS Balm significantly calmed it down. I did get a couple of tiny bumps on my forehead, but the improvement in redness was so noticeable that I'm willing to overlook that.
ConsPrice: As it's a soothing balm, I applied it thickly on areas needing calming and slept with it on. Using it this way, I went through the product quite quickly. The amount you get for the price is a bit disappointing. If you're concerned about small bumps, that could be a downside. It seems the main effects are soothing redness and strengthening the skin barrier, but it doesn't seem to do much for tiny bumps.
TipReapplying to areas that need soothing provides quick relief.

Seems suitable for all-over application in spring and fall, and for spot treatment in summer and winter
ConsI had high hopes when using this after my skin recently flared up, possibly due to the weather, but it was a bit disappointing - Lack of effectiveness I applied it to areas with pustular blemishes, healing scars, and emerging red spots, but unfortunately saw no improvement - Doesn't absorb when rubbed If you rub it vigorously, it turns white and doesn't absorb, leaving a slightly sticky feeling
TipSince I didn't see results, I searched online and found that most people use it for soothing after dermatological procedures. It seems like it might be effective for those who've had skin treatments
