When applied, it has a slightly sticky feel, but when patted and absorbed, it leaves a shiny, extremely moisturized finish on the skin. There is a slight stickiness when touched, but the moisturizing effect is quite evident. The fragrance is almost non-existent, with a very faint scent reminiscent of cosmetic ingredients, but it is barely noticeable unless you intentionally smell it. This cream is recommended for dry and dehydrated skin types. It effectively replenishes the skin's moisture balance and strengthens the skin barrier. Even for my sensitive skin, it did not cause any irritation or discomfort, leaving my skin feeling comfortable and hydrated.
ConsThere were no disappointments other than the small size.

Skin type: dry -Spreadability: In the initial stage, it spreads very smoothly, but as it starts to roll a bit, it gradually becomes thicker and heavier! It might be a bit burdensome for those with skin types other than dry. -Absorption: The absorption is really good, and the absorption time is very fast! The absorption is almost too good, making me slightly worried that it might be absorbing too deeply into the skin. Recommended skin type is dry!
ConsFirst, it may be difficult to apply before morning makeup. Most pre-makeup basics should be lightweight, but the immediate spreadability itself is too heavy, so the makeup may slip a lot. Afterwards, in terms of absorbency, the absorption is fast, so even if normal and oily skin types apply it, it may not be bad. However, so for dry skin types, there may be a slight concern that the effect may not be as effective. The fragrance is likely to have little likes or dislikes as it is unscented.
TipWhile it may not be a major tip, I highly recommend applying it as part of your nighttime skincare routine rather than as a pre-makeup base.

When winter comes, my arms and legs become extremely dry and itchy in spots. I applied this primarily to those areas, and it definitely felt gentle yet protective for my irritated skin. I used it at night before bed, and in the morning, my skin felt soft and supple, with less flaking. On days when my face felt really tight, I squeezed out just a tiny dot and spread it thinly - even that small amount provided sufficient moisture, thanks to the rich formula. While I can't use it daily due to its thick, rich texture, it's great to use occasionally when my skin needs a break. I'll just apply the Hwahae after my toner and use it like a sleeping pack. I mainly used it on my knees and arms, and it really helped with the bumpy, sensitive skin. After using it overnight, the itchiness went away and my skin felt smoother. This would be great for those with sensitive skin, eczema, as well as for babies and pregnant women.
ConsWell, I suppose the quantity being a bit low is a bit of a shame haha. To be honest, I don't think I've felt any major disappointment so far. If I had to pick something, it would probably be the quantity and the price?? It's not outrageously expensive, but there's still a bit of a lingering sense of something being a bit off about the price range, you know? haha
TipHwahae, for normal to dry skin (face), we recommend just using a toner and lotion or a toner and essence ampoule, and then applying a tiny amount, dotting it on your face like stars, in the evening. For those with sensitive body skin, we also recommend applying it to your body.

The application is smooth and soft. However, since it is high in oil content, if the skin has a lot of moisture, it may not spread as smoothly, so it is recommended to use it after thoroughly absorbing a toner or other moisturizing product. The absorption rate is relatively fast compared to other products. Unless applied excessively, it is quickly absorbed. There is some stickiness, likely due to it being a night cream. The moisturizing power is good. My skin felt soothed and softened after application. It would likely be suitable for dry skin types. I have combination skin. As it has an oily feel, I mainly used it in the evenings, as it felt too rich for morning use. After waking up, I noticed my skin was much smoother. So I used it frequently even when my skin was in poor condition. However, this led to itchiness and breakouts. I recommend avoiding it when the skin is very sensitive. For oily skin types, it's better to use it once every 2-3 days in the evenings.
ConsScent: Ointment scent? Herbal scent? It seems like the same scent, but people may have different preferences. Personally, I dislike it. Price: The amount is small compared to the price.
TipI would not recommend using it when your skin condition is too sensitive. For oily skin, I recommend applying it thinly and using it every other day.

But once I spread it all over, the feel is really great. It absorbs quickly, doesn't leave a sticky feeling, and I highly recommend it for combination to oily skin. It can be used in small amounts even in the summer, and I recommend it for spring, fall, and winter. It seems to be really good for the skin barrier. Lately, I've been getting a lot of pimples on my cheeks, but after washing my face daily and applying it consistently, my skin has been improving. I highly recommend it for acne-prone skin!! I also have super sensitive skin that's easily irritated, and I noticed one of the ingredients was potentially sensitizing, but it's been fine for me. I'll definitely be repurchasing, and I hope they increase the volume! I think it's amazing for soothing the skin.
ConsThe fragrance may be due to the lack of perfume, but it does have a bit of an ointment smell, though it goes away quickly. Also, the volume is small, so I think I'll use it up soon. It was 40ml, so I hope they can increase the amount.

I feel a lot of dryness and need to apply moisturizer every 2-3 hours, and even in the winter, using cream and oil is not enough to hydrate my skin. 1. Spreadability: It is slightly thick and does not spread as smoothly as a water-based moisturizer. It has more oil content than water, but there is no sticky feeling after application. The spreadability is very similar to over-the-counter Dipanthenol. 2. Recommended for dry skin. 3. It has more oil content than water, but there is no clogged pore feeling at all, so there is no worry about breakouts.
ConsThe downside was that the oily feeling did not last long, so it felt a bit lacking for those with very dry skin. The product size is also on the smaller side, so when considering the cost-effectiveness, I'm not sure I would purchase it again.

The texture is initially quite thick, similar to a night cream, but it turns out to be slightly creamy with decent spreadability. It is fragrance-free, so it's suitable for those sensitive to scents. The ingredients are mild since it's a pharmaceutical-grade cosmetic, but some sensitive or delicate individuals may still need to check the ingredients and do a patch test. The moisturizing power is not bad, but it may be too drying for use in the middle of winter, so it's best to mix it with a cream and apply it as the final step in your skincare routine. It's recommended to use it as part of your nighttime skincare regimen rather than during the day.
ConsThe improvement in skin barrier is still unknown as I have not used it for long. I think I need to use it more to know. The amount seems a bit small compared to the price, which is a bit disappointing.
TipIt may be a bit drying if used alone, so it's best to mix it with other creams. Applying it as the final step in your skincare routine can provide better hydration. You can also mix it with oils or serums. While it's great for the entire face, applying it to specific areas that need extra hydration can be especially beneficial.

I came across this SOS Balm and tried it on the areas with stretch marks, where the itching was most severe. Just like applying medicine, the itching subsided immediately. It has a thick, creamy texture, but it spreads easily without difficulty. When I applied it to my face, it initially looked a bit oily, but it was absorbed completely within seconds. After trying it, I have a confident feeling that this is a must-have item. Even as I'm using it, I'm reluctant to see the amount decreasing.
ConsOf course, the product quality is reflected in the price. First of all, the volume is too small, so when I apply it to my body, half of it is used up. If I could make a wish, it would be great if they could add a fragrance to the current size and also release a hand-use version. Among all the dry products that have been released so far, this is the best product for me.
TipThe moisturizing sensation is satisfactory, and it lasts for a long time when applied to damp skin.

At that moment, I was interested and this is a perfect cream. I was worried that the formulation would be too thick, but when I actually applied it, it maintained a smooth, firm, and moisturizing feel. Even when applied twice, it is not too light or heavy, but stays moisturized, not stuffy or tight, with high moisture. When traveling, if it's inconvenient, you can just bring this without an essence, and it's a small size that's easy to carry. It is a reassuring formula that excludes 10 harmful ingredients.
ConsAmong our products, the price-to-volume ratio is on the higher side, and I don't feel there is a significant difference between the existing Intensive MD product and the new ones. Intensive MD: 80ml 32,000 won Intensive SOS+ Balm: 40ml 24,000 won - I have applied products containing stearic acid before, and fortunately, I did not experience any skin troubles. - The products have a unique scent, similar to a mild soap smell. It's not unpleasant, but individual preferences may vary.
TipWhen you want high moisture, it is recommended to apply a small amount at a time and absorb it gradually, rather than applying a large amount all at once. :)

This time, I was selected as a Hwahae Trial Reviewer, so I got to try the SOS Balm as well. The texture is thick and ointment-like, with an oily feel, so it's best to apply a thin layer on the needed areas for someone with oily skin like me. While using the product, I noticed two effects: 1. Acne soothing - I sometimes get pimples, and when I applied the product on a pimple on my chin that was red and swollen, even without touching it, it started subsiding the next day. The mark remained, but it improved in two days. I should have taken before and after photos, but unfortunately I didn't. 2. Redness improvement - Recently, my cheeks have been getting red due to the dry indoor environment and heating. I applied a thin layer in the evening, and the next day, the redness was significantly less, and I didn't feel as much heat.
ConsThe downside is that while the pimple has subsided, the scar remains. It seems I'll have to apply a separate ointment to remove the scar. And to improve the redness, I applied a thin layer on my cheeks in the evening, but when I looked in the mirror before bed, my cheeks had become reddish. I thought it might be a side effect, but it was fine the next day. I'm not sure if I should keep applying it.
TipAmong the instructions, it is also recommended to apply a moisturizer before using it. That seems to be a great tip. And it also seems better to apply it thinly. Although it is expensive compared to the amount, it seems like it will last for a long time.
