The standout features of this product are its impressive cleansing power that removes even eye makeup in one go, and the moisturizing effect that leaves your face feeling hydrated, not tight, after washing! It was also effective in removing excess sebum. The oil feels a bit heavy, so double cleansing is absolutely necessary when using this product. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinMay 29, 2021
Ever since I started using cosmetics, cleansing has always been synonymous with Shu Uemura cleansing oils. While I can't recall all the specific names, I've tried the yellow, pink, green, purple, and brown versions. Personally, I found the pink one a bit too light, but the green, purple, and brown were my favorites. Although I don't typically wear heavy makeup, these oils effectively remove color cosmetics without any irritation. What I love is that despite being an oil, it doesn't leave a slippery residue. Instead, it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. Since I've always used this product, I haven't really noticed any downsides. However, I did notice that when I decanted some for travel use and left it for a while, it developed a slight odor. I've heard it's important to pump the oil onto dry hands, massage it thoroughly over your face, and then add a small amount of water to emulsify the product for the best cleansing effectiveness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinFeb 28, 2021
I've tried many samples of this product when purchasing other items, and it's immediately clear why it's so popular. I'm definitely planning to buy it once I finish all the samples. Among cleansing oils, it's the best for removing sebum. I don't think any other product can match it. It effortlessly removes sebum without causing any issues, and it naturally melts away makeup too. I'm really hoping that a domestic brand will create something like this soon. The price is a bit high, and the country of manufacture and scent are somewhat disappointing. But in terms of effectiveness, there's nothing to complain about. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinFeb 12, 2021
I'm absolutely loving this product! It's a game-changer for removing even the most stubborn mascara. Just apply a bit of oil to a cotton pad, press it gently on your eyes for a few seconds, and voila - it wipes right off! The oil-based formula leaves my skin feeling wonderfully hydrated after cleansing. What's more, this cleanser is so effective at removing most makeup that on those lazy nights when I can't be bothered with double cleansing, I can get away with just using this. It still manages to cleanse thoroughly without any issues! There's not really anything to complain about, but if I had to nitpick, I'd say it's a bit pricey. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinNov 10, 2020
Maintains moisture and softness after cleansing. The scent is pleasant too. If you apply a generous amount to areas prone to acne (without wiping off), and remove it after a while, the inflamed areas calm down quickly. It's been my holy grail product since 2003. It effectively removes dead skin cells, leaving skin smooth. If used too frequently or rubbed for too long, it can cause skin peeling and a tingling sensation. It's best to use it at appropriate intervals (every 2-3 days if you wear makeup often, once a week if you don't). Those with thin skin should be cautious. Using it with cleansing oil and water enhances the moisturizing and soft effect after cleansing, increasing satisfaction (though the price is a bit steep). It's best to quickly figure out your own usage pattern. Don't rub it for too long! Your skin will thank you. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinOct 30, 2020
I have a skin type where my face doesn't get overly oily, but my nose pores are large and blackheads form very easily. Despite trying everything, they don't really go away, just maintain their status quo. This cleansing oil, however, does the best job of washing them away, so I've been using it consistently. I've tried cheaper versions from Missha and The Witch Factory, but I always end up coming back to this one. It emulsifies extremely well, so even without double cleansing, just using water leaves my skin clean without any residue. I can even remove heavy eye makeup in one go with this product. The price... the price is too high. But because the product is so good, I'm continuing to use it sparingly. For some reason, I always end up using Japanese products for sunscreen and cleansing oil. Since it's in a higher price range, I recommend not buying it hastily. Try a cheaper version with similar functions first, and then consider purchasing this one. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 28, 2020
As someone with combination dehydrated skin and sensitive skin, I often break out with blemishes and tiny pimples immediately after using the wrong oils. However, with Shu Uemura's Anti/Oxi oil, I used an entire large bottle without a single breakout. It's really great! For a cleansing oil, it seems to cause minimal skin irritation. Plus, its cleansing effectiveness is truly impressive. It removes everything in one go - eyeliner, mascara, and even eyeshadow. It's so convenient not having to use a separate eye makeup remover. The only downside is the price... I managed to buy it duty-free. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 17, 2020
As someone with super sensitive skin, I think this review could be helpful for those struggling with itching, small bumps, or worsening acne when using incompatible products. It might also benefit those with sensitive, allergy-prone skin, or contact dermatitis. Regarding functionality, this cleansing oil does its job well. It effectively removes makeup, including eyeliner, eyebrow products, and lipstick, without any issues. The user experience is great too. It feels gentle on the skin with minimal irritation, leaving no burning sensation after use. Unlike some oils, it doesn't have that sticky, clumpy feeling. When rinsing with water, it emulsifies well without separating. Overall, it addresses many common drawbacks of oil cleansers, which is very satisfying. If you don't have skin like mine, you probably won't find any downsides to this product. Currently, my skin becomes itchy, swollen, and develops small bumps (not cystic acne) immediately if I apply anything that doesn't suit it. My skin has changed from being resilient and blemish-free to sensitive and allergy-prone. Even after thorough cleansing, this product leaves my skin itchy. Firstly, I think the oil itself doesn't agree with me. Secondly, I've had similar reactions to other Shu Uemura products and even body creams from other brands. Upon investigation, I found that these products contain limonene and linalool, which are known to cause allergies. These ingredients are likely causing my skin to become itchy and red. Unfortunately, these two ingredients are also present in this product. While I was very satisfied during use, the aftermath was problematic. The intense itching on my face had a reason after all. If you don't have sensitive, allergy-prone skin like mine, you'll likely be very satisfied with this product. It might not be suitable for those with atopic skin either, as the ingredients seem to be quite irritating. Although my skin reacted badly, I'm fortunate to have discovered the Hwahae app. Now I can avoid ingredients that don't suit me. It's crucial to check the ingredients and choose products that don't contain any components you're sensitive to. Once your skin becomes this sensitive, it takes a long time to recover, which can be really challenging. While this product doesn't work for my skin and has some concerning ingredients, it seems great for those with resilient skin. I'd rate it 0 for sensitive skin, but 5 for tougher skin types. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 3, 2020
Gently removes long-lasting makeup without irritation. It cleanses so thoroughly that double cleansing isn't necessary. The price is a bit steep. I'll have to wait for an Olive Young sale to purchase it. Make sure to emulsify for about 3 minutes. This ensures even stubborn pollutants are completely washed away. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJan 24, 2020
I tried this cleansing oil after hearing it was popular among similar products, and I'm pleased with how well it removes makeup and cleanses. It feels like it's effectively dissolving sebum and cleaning my skin. Some strong cleansers can leave my face feeling tight, but this one seems to maintain hydration. It's a bit disappointing how quickly the product gets used up, with the amount noticeably decreasing with regular use.
