The standout features of this product are its impressive cleansing power that removes even eye makeup in one go, and the moisturizing effect that leaves your face feeling hydrated, not tight, after washing! It was also effective in removing excess sebum. The oil feels a bit heavy, so double cleansing is absolutely necessary when using this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinAug 30, 2021
One of the few cleansing oils I've used where I could actually see blackheads being removed I never realized how super sensitive my skin was until I used this. 2-3 days after using it, I was diagnosed with contact dermatitis. My face erupted in a storm of blemishes and redness. Even though I bought the large size, I had to throw it away immediately. - sw********Normal SkinRecommendedAug 10, 2021
This cleansing oil gave me the impression that it was actually removing blackheads. When rolling the oil around my nose area, I could feel something small and round, which I suspect might be blackheads (though I'm not entirely sure). While the effect isn't dramatic, seeing tangible results makes this cleansing oil quite satisfying to use! When rolling the oil around my nose, I feel these small, round particles that make me think blackheads are coming out, but I'm not certain if they really are blackheads. I've been talking a lot about blackheads in this review, but I should mention that the cleansing effectiveness is great and it leaves my skin feeling clean. It doesn't leave my skin feeling dry after use, which is a plus! - ba********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinJul 24, 2021
Cleansing effectiveness: Excellent. It removes even point makeup quite well. No tightness: There was no skin tightness after use. Sebum & blackheads: No change. It doesn't effectively remove sebum. Blackheads remain unchanged. I didn't see any improvements using this product. I even tried following blog and YouTube tutorials with a stopwatch, but it didn't help with sebum removal. Price: Honestly, for this performance, it seems overpriced. While I didn't experience any blemishes, I did notice some new wrinkles. Whatever you do, don't rub it in for too long. My skin got completely irritated. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedMay 29, 2021
Ever since I started using cosmetics, cleansing has always been synonymous with Shu Uemura cleansing oils. While I can't recall all the specific names, I've tried the yellow, pink, green, purple, and brown versions. Personally, I found the pink one a bit too light, but the green, purple, and brown were my favorites. Although I don't typically wear heavy makeup, these oils effectively remove color cosmetics without any irritation. What I love is that despite being an oil, it doesn't leave a slippery residue. Instead, it leaves my skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. Since I've always used this product, I haven't really noticed any downsides. However, I did notice that when I decanted some for travel use and left it for a while, it developed a slight odor. I've heard it's important to pump the oil onto dry hands, massage it thoroughly over your face, and then add a small amount of water to emulsify the product for the best cleansing effectiveness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 11, 2021
This is my holy grail cleansing oil... It's truly amazing and I've been using it for nearly 7 years. I've tried both the pink and brown versions, but this one has the perfect medium consistency. The oil feels so soft on the skin and cleanses effectively, making it absolutely fantastic!! It's a shame they're closing their stores in Korea, and while it's somewhat pricey, it's still incredibly good - bh*****Dehydrated SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityRecommendedApr 25, 2021
I originally used the brown one, but it felt too heavy, so I switched to the green version. It's definitely lighter than the brown one. Despite being lighter, it doesn't leave my skin feeling overly dry. It removes makeup effectively too. I usually keep my eyes open and look in the mirror while removing my makeup (which probably isn't great for my eyes), but this doesn't sting or irritate my eyes at all. I have to admit... it's quite expensive, and there are good products available in Korea too... But I recently received it as a gift, so I'm using it up as my last bottle. They say if you do an oil rolling for 4 minutes, followed by a 2-minute emulsification process, and then cleanse with warm water for another 4 minutes, it helps remove blackheads. - g0****Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedApr 12, 2021
This cleansing oil excels in emulsification, which is crucial for any oil cleanser. As someone with combination skin, I've noticed a significant reduction in whiteheads and blackheads with consistent use. I've been using it for years now, mainly because it's excellent at removing fine dust particles. The price is the biggest drawback. It's nearly $100, which is quite steep. These days, many domestic brands offer excellent quality products at competitive prices, so I think there are plenty of alternatives available. - Hwahae UserDry SkinRecommendedApr 6, 2021
Cleanses effectively, no need for a separate makeup remover. Leaves skin feeling hydrated. Eyes feel cloudy after washing. Though it's said to eliminate the need for double cleansing, the lingering oily residue makes me want to cleanse again. And let's not forget the wickedly high price. For emulsification, wet your hands slightly and massage for about a minute. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedMar 29, 2021
I've been using this cleansing oil for over 5 years with my combination skin. When I heard Shu Uemura was leaving the Korean market, I was worried, but I'm relieved to have stocked up on two 1000ml bottles. It removes makeup incredibly well, and after washing, there's no feeling of excess oil on my skin. The only downside is the price, but I always purchase it duty-free, which helps.
