The standout features of this product are its impressive cleansing power that removes even eye makeup in one go, and the moisturizing effect that leaves your face feeling hydrated, not tight, after washing! It was also effective in removing excess sebum. The oil feels a bit heavy, so double cleansing is absolutely necessary when using this product. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 24, 2021
Cleansing effectiveness: Excellent. It removes even point makeup quite well. No tightness: There was no skin tightness after use. Sebum & blackheads: No change. It doesn't effectively remove sebum. Blackheads remain unchanged. I didn't see any improvements using this product. I even tried following blog and YouTube tutorials with a stopwatch, but it didn't help with sebum removal. Price: Honestly, for this performance, it seems overpriced. While I didn't experience any blemishes, I did notice some new wrinkles. Whatever you do, don't rub it in for too long. My skin got completely irritated. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinApr 24, 2021
I originally used the brown one, but it felt too heavy, so I switched to the green version. It's definitely lighter than the brown one. Despite being lighter, it doesn't leave my skin feeling overly dry. It removes makeup effectively too. I usually keep my eyes open and look in the mirror while removing my makeup (which probably isn't great for my eyes), but this doesn't sting or irritate my eyes at all. I have to admit... it's quite expensive, and there are good products available in Korea too... But I recently received it as a gift, so I'm using it up as my last bottle. They say if you do an oil rolling for 4 minutes, followed by a 2-minute emulsification process, and then cleanse with warm water for another 4 minutes, it helps remove blackheads. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinFeb 13, 2021
The cleansing effectiveness is truly top-notch. I've tried many other products known for their cleansing power, but they often left my skin feeling a bit dry. Shu Uemura, however, doesn't dry out my skin at all after use. My skin feels incredibly smooth post-application. I love that it has an applicator at the opening, making it easy to open and close. This feature is great for travel as there's no risk of spills. As someone with non-sensitive dry skin, I found it extremely gentle. While it's certainly in a higher price range, I keep coming back to it even after trying other products. According to the Hwahae app, it contains some less-than-ideal ingredients. Those with super sensitive skin should definitely try a sample first, as quite a few people seem to have had adverse reactions. While the cleansing effectiveness is undeniably good, it can sometimes leave a slightly slippery feeling, making me feel like I need to follow up with a second cleanser. As for the price, well, it's Shu Uemura, so of course it's expensive, right? I used to buy it often when traveling duty-free, but now that I can't travel, I'm sad I can't get those duty-free deals anymore. A truly fantastic product for those with dry skin! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 24, 2020
After using it, I feel like it cleanses much better compared to other products. It's not drying, so it's comfortable to use. I've been using it consistently since I started removing makeup. I've lost count of how many bottles I've gone through! The price is a bit wicked, which is disappointing. However, if you buy the large size, it lasts quite a while. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinMay 18, 2020
It did a decent job of removing excess oil, and my skin felt less dry after use. After using it, I developed small blemishes, and it didn't completely remove excess oil. I don't feel inclined to spend this much money on it again. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinNov 27, 2019
This is truly the best. If you emulsify it properly, there's no need for a second cleanse. That's why there's no tightness after washing, and I absolutely love it. It effectively removes sebum too... Honestly, it's the best cleansing product I've ever used. Apart from the price, since it's a Japanese product, I'm going to let it go now. Sayonara! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinNov 1, 2019
Excellent cleansing effectiveness with no deep dryness. Suitable for all skin types. Can be used as a one-step cleansing solution, helping to maintain the natural sebum barrier. There are no drawbacks. None whatsoever. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSep 5, 2019
I've been using this for 10 years now. I always buy it when I travel abroad! It's too expensive at department stores. Shu Uemura oil is perfect for people with very dry skin!! Whether it's cream or water-based makeup removers, my face used to feel really dry after cleansing. But with this oil, it removes makeup easily and I don't need to use a separate cleanser, which is so convenient and great. I've tried the Sakura version, but its scent was a bit too strong for my liking. The green tea one has a richer texture and a more subtle fragrance, which I prefer. If there's one downside, it's the price... But I've been using it for 10 years, so that speaks for itself! Other than that, I have no complaints. Well, using the oil isn't difficult at all. When you buy the product, the staff will usually explain how to use it, but here's a tip: Massage the oil thoroughly into your skin, then wet your hands slightly and massage again. You'll see white foam appear. After massaging once more, you can rinse it off. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinAug 30, 2019
This is my go-to product. The user experience is fantastic! It even removes the finest shimmer particles from makeup. While you can cleanse with just the oil, I do follow up with a second cleanse when my makeup is heavy, I feel grimy, or during summer. But honestly, this product is effective enough to use on its own. After cleansing with just the oil, my face doesn't feel tight or greasy. I've tried various Shu Uemura oils, but this one seems to suit my skin best. My skin type is prone to blemishes and excess sebum. It's a bit pricey, but it's the best among cleansing oils. Among the oils, the one in the dark pink bottle is a non-runny formula. Personally, I found that one to be my least favorite. I've heard that for a first cleanse, you can pump it three or four times, massage for 30 seconds, then add water for another 30 seconds before rinsing off.
