* My skin type is sensitive/combination. Please keep this in mind while reading * 1. Fragrance It's fragrance-free. As a fragrance-free lover, this product is excellent for me. Since there's no scent at all, if you prefer fragranced products, please choose a scented line. 2. User experience I think this is an optimal product for sensitive/dry skin! First, there are no granules in the gel, making it gentler compared to exfoliators with beads. After use, I didn't experience any dryness or tightness in my skin. Also, the biggest advantage of this product ★★★ It's convenient because you can use it when your face is wet. (Usually, peeling gels can't be used on a wet face.) So I use it last after thoroughly soaking my face while showering. 3. Locking mechanism It has a pump-style locking mechanism, making it convenient to carry around. (I think you'll understand what I mean even with this clumsy explanation...) Surprisingly, the texture is quite slippery, which might be hit or miss for some people. I've used this product a few times so I'm used to it now, but first-time users might find it a bit unfamiliar... However, you get used to it after a while. No matter how gentle, an exfoliator is still an exfoliator. Don't be misled by claims that it can be used daily. While this product is indeed gentler compared to others, I still only use it once a week (twice at most). Use it according to your skin's needs. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 11, 2019
I love how effectively it removes dead skin cells from my face It leaves a slightly slippery feeling, making me want to cleanse again. Is that normal? It might be a good idea to use a cleansing foam after using this peeling gel - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 24, 2018
This is a review from winning The Hwahae Testers selection! I absolutely love this product. As someone with super sensitive skin, I usually just apply lots of emulsion to moisturize and keep dead skin cells at bay, afraid that exfoliating might irritate my skin. However, this product is incredibly gentle and hydrating. When removing dead skin cells, it doesn't irritate my skin at all. In fact, after using it, my skin feels even more moisturized and hydrated. I'll definitely stock up on this when I visit Japan! I'm also planning to purchase it on Hwahae if I get the chance. Once I finish this, I'm definitely repurchasing! Well... it's a bit slippery, so you need to pump quite a bit. But aside from that, everything else is great! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinOct 19, 2018
⭐️This product was provided by Hwahae for review⭐️ There's not much to say, but if I had to squeeze out some positives: # Texture The texture is interesting. It kind of feels a bit like konjac, which is amusing. # Usable when wet? It's possible, but if your hands or face are damp, it tends to slip more easily. So I'm not sure if this is really an advantage... # It slips Usually, when using a peeling gel, I've gotten into the habit of squeezing it onto different parts of my face before exfoliating all over. But with this one, it just slides off. So I ended up spilling it all over the sink and got scolded by my mom! It's especially slippery when there's moisture, but it tends to run even when dry. I guess I'll have to pump it out and start exfoliating right away. - Hwahae UserDry SkinOct 7, 2018
I got to try the Detclear Peeling Gel thanks to being selected by The Hwahae Testers. Let me break it down for you step by step: ✔ Hydration Usually, peeling products tend to be drying, but Detclear left my skin feeling moisturized instead of parched. After cleansing, my skin didn't feel tight or dry to the touch, which was great. ✔ Exfoliation effectiveness The exfoliation power seems above average. What's more, it only removes dead skin cells, which I really appreciated. My previous exfoliator would strip away even the healthy skin layers, leaving my skin dry and stressed. I was amazed that the more I used this, the more it seemed to target only the dead skin cells while leaving the healthy skin intact. ✔ Texture I love that this peeling gel has a firm, bouncy texture. When you squeeze it out, it doesn't drip or run. That satisfying weight and consistency when it's in your hand is definitely a plus. ✔ Can be used on damp skin This is incredibly convenient. You can apply it right after using your foam cleanser, which saves time and is much more practical. With products that require dry skin, you waste time waiting for your face to dry, which can lead to skin feeling tight. This feature is a huge advantage. ✔ Plastic cap There's a plastic piece that prevents the pump from being accidentally pressed. I found this attention to detail really impressive. I think I'll be sticking with this product from now on! ✔ Rinsing off While I loved that it works on damp skin, I found it a bit tricky to rinse off completely. After exfoliating, when I splash water on my face, the product doesn't come off as easily as I'd like. That was a bit inconvenient (though I have to admit, it really does stick to the skin - impressive!). ✔ During exfoliation When I'm rubbing it on my face, the product tends to slip between my fingers and slide to the back of my hand. That was a bit frustrating. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinSep 27, 2018
I loved that I could exfoliate even with wet hands. The prep process for exfoliating can be such a hassle, and when you exfoliate without moisture, it feels more drying and potentially damaging to the skin. That's why I usually avoid gommage peels and opt for AHA/BHA toners instead. But the biggest advantage of this product is how conveniently it can be used during a shower. Also, after exfoliating, my skin felt incredibly smooth and soft - it was amazing! As I have sensitive skin, I couldn't be too thorough, but even with gentle use, my skin became wonderfully silky. However, if your skin is too wet, the exfoliation doesn't work properly. The product becomes slippery and tends to clump together, so it's best to use it on slightly damp skin. Although it's marketed for daily dead skin cell care, I don't think it's suitable for daily use. I have sensitive skin with redness, especially on my cheeks. Even though I thought this product would be gentle, I noticed significant redness after using it on my cheeks. I'd recommend using it at most twice a week. Also, I have a lot of blackheads, whiteheads, and excess sebum on my nose. Despite thorough application in that area, it didn't completely remove them, which was a bit disappointing. While it did make my skin feel smooth, it didn't perfectly clear out the sebum. For daily use, this product is best suited for those with a strong skin barrier. If you have sensitive or thin skin like mine, it's better to use it once a week while monitoring your skin's condition. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinJul 11, 2018
I think I bought this for around 15000 won on Gmarket. Since I have a lot of blackheads and whiteheads, I tend to exfoliate every other day, and peeling gels seem to work best for me. Trying out the Detclear product, I liked that it's a gel type, so it's gentle and doesn't sting when I massage it after cleansing. Rather than coming off like dead skin, it forms into little jelly-like clumps. It's so gentle that it seems to suit my sensitive skin well. Even though I used it with cold water instead of lukewarm water because of the heat, it still exfoliated effectively! If I had to mention a downside, it's something common to all peeling gels - that slightly slippery feeling left on the skin afterwards, which means you always need to follow up with a final cleanse. Other than that, I have no complaints. It seems to be a great product for me! I think it would work even better if you use lukewarm water to open up your pores before applying. For areas with excess sebum like around the nose and cheeks, you don't need to scrub too hard - even gentle pressure will effectively remove the dead skin cells! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 19, 2018
There's absolutely no irritation. You can even use it when your skin is damp. I've tried various peeling products before, which left my face feeling tingly, but this one doesn't cause any irritation at all. While it doesn't cause any irritation, it feels too slippery. I'm not sure if I'm using it correctly. You can use it when your skin is damp, but it's recommended to apply it to dry hands and face if possible. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinOct 7, 2017
Even though my skin is dry, after using this product for peeling, there is no dryness or tightness at all. I couldn't really feel the peeling effect. Even after the peeling, there was still a lot of dead skin left. And there was a certain sticky, gooey feeling, so I didn't feel refreshed after the peeling. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSep 10, 2017
This was the first time I purchased and used the peeling gel, and I absolutely loved it. It's easy to use and not too harsh on the skin, so I used it every other morning and noticed a definite improvement in my skin tone. The fragrance-free formula was also a plus, as it didn't bother me. If you don't rinse it off thoroughly after use, it can leave a sticky residue behind. And while I chose the fragrance-free option, I felt like it didn't quite match my skin as well as I had hoped. I recommend using an inexpensive face towel along with the peeling gel. It works better than just using your hands. It's also great to use before applying a CC cream or other coverage product.
