That's why instead of using it daily, I apply it generously and massage it in on days when my skin feels uncomfortable or looks blotchy. By the next day, the irritation subsides completely.
ConsDespite being a completely water-based formula, it absorbs slowly and feels like it's sitting on top of the skin. The finish is more slippery than refreshing.

I have combination dehydrated skin - oily but lacking moisture. I don't often get acne or blemishes, but after some dermatology treatments, my skin became a bit sensitive. Recently, I've had some breakouts on my forehead and chin, so I was looking for mugwort-based products known to be good for blemishes. I came across this mist essence in a Hwahae Testers event and decided to try it. Although it's a mist essence, I used it like a toner by applying it with a cotton pad. 1. Effectiveness - I've been using this product for over two weeks, both as a toner and by soaking cotton pads and leaving them on troubled areas. My irritated skin didn't worsen, and the blemishes gradually subsided. While it wasn't a dramatic overnight improvement, I could see steady progress. The fact that my sensitive skin didn't react negatively suggests it's a very gentle product. I'm considering buying more mugwort-infused skincare products after I finish this one. 2. Scent - I'm not particularly fond of mugwort scent, but I don't mind fragrances in skincare products. When researching mugwort products, I saw some people complaining about overwhelming scents, but this product's fragrance isn't strong at all. Even those sensitive to smells should be able to use it comfortably. 3. Hydration - As someone with oily skin, I prefer less rich products even in winter, so my skincare routine tends to be on the drier side. However, as I've gotten older, my skin has become a bit drier, so I've started incorporating more hydrating products. This product doesn't provide intense hydration. It might be too dry for those with dry skin types. For me, it's adequately moisturizing when used before makeup in the morning, allowing my makeup to apply smoothly. However, when used at night after cleansing, followed by essence and moisturizer, it still felt a bit dry. I think it's suitable for creating a subtle glow before applying makeup in the morning. While I have combination dehydrated skin, those with oily skin who don't experience much dryness might find it suitable for both morning and evening use in winter. 4. I'm about 80% likely to purchase this product again.
Cons1. Texture - It doesn't absorb immediately into the skin, instead lingering on the surface. When I first used it, it felt slippery and left a residue on my hands, which I found off-putting. However, it didn't interfere with makeup application, so it wasn't a major issue. But if you dislike that feeling, this product might not be for you. 2. As mentioned earlier, it might be too dry for those with dry skin types. For oily skin, it might feel a bit heavy during summer. I think it's more suitable for winter use.
TipWhile I used it like a toner with a cotton pad, you could also try using it as a spot treatment by soaking cotton pads and leaving them on troubled areas like a mask. Also, for those with dry skin, spraying it before or after makeup can create a subtle glow effect (though it takes a bit of time to absorb into the skin).

My skin is quite dehydrated, lacking both moisture and oil. I use this right after washing my face, without drying it with a towel (I've heard that's better for the skin). I spray it on while my skin is still damp and let it absorb. Unlike other toners that often left my skin feeling dry, this one didn't cause any dryness at all. There was no tightness initially, but I did notice some later on, so I made sure to follow up with a moisturizer. The scent is a subtle, fresh mugwort aroma - not overpowering at all, more like the dewy scent of a forest. I love how easy it is to use as a spray, perfect for my routine of applying skincare quickly after cleansing. The packaging is also aesthetically pleasing, adding a touch of elegance to my routine.
ConsI can't really think of any significant downsides. It didn't cause any blemishes on my skin. The only minor issue might be that the bottle can be a bit slippery to hold due to the mist formulation, which gives it a slightly slick feel.
TipThey say it's important to apply skincare quickly after washing to prevent moisture loss. That's why the mist format is so convenient! I'm grateful for winning this product, it's really great!

First off, it's worth mentioning that the ingredients are gentle, the price is affordable, and you get a generous amount. In my opinion, the spray isn't bad, but to describe it, it comes out in a circular pattern with a somewhat hollow center? It doesn't distribute evenly, but I like that there are no large particles flying around. After spraying, it gives a unique smoothness along with a nice glow. At first, I wasn't sure about it, but I've already used more than half the bottle. I find myself reaching for it often. After cleansing, I use it as an exfoliating toner, spray once, pat it in, then finish with toner, serum, and cream. I haven't changed any other skincare products recently, but I've noticed my skin texture looks more refined. Initially, I thought it might not be worth buying with my own money, but once I finish it, I think I'll miss it and want to repurchase.
ConsDue to its slick feeling, I only use it as an exfoliating toner before makeup. I have combination dehydrated skin and usually combat dryness with the 7-skin method, but this product alone isn't hydrating enough for that. After using it for a few days, I noticed some excess oil that wasn't there before. It's not quite moisturizing enough on its own, so I only spray it once. Using just this product and a moisturizer isn't sufficient for my skin's needs.
TipIt's best to avoid using this before makeup, and rather than using it as a standalone toner, it's better to use it alongside products like Dokdo Toner or other toners. You need to pay extra attention to hydration with serums and essences. When I'm at home and spray it occasionally, I notice it gives my face a glow that makes my skin look great.

As it's a mist, I paid close attention to the spray power, and it's not bad. It's not the kind that bursts out forcefully. And the scent! It has a subtle mugwort fragrance, which I found quite nice. I appreciated that the scent wasn't too strong. When I first sprayed the mist on my face and let it absorb, it felt oilier than expected. Usually, mists or toners are watery and moisturizing, right? But this mist felt very rich, focusing more on oil than hydration. At first, it felt a bit slippery, like it was creating a film on my face, which was slightly off-putting. However, after using it for two or three days, it grew on me. Given its good ingredients, it seems to have a great soothing effect. While I don't have acne-prone skin, I occasionally get blemishes, and I noticed that when I used this mist, the blemishes seemed to subside by the next day. It's especially nice when you soak a cotton pad with it and apply it to your face - it makes your skin feel really hydrated and wonderful.
ConsAt first, it felt very slippery and rich, which was a bit off-putting.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsThis is a review from The Hwahae Testers. I received the product and, as I had just run out of toner, I used it as a toner replacement morning and night for about a week. I also used it occasionally as a light toner mask. As you can see in the photo, I've used about half the bottle. I guess I've been using it quite generously! I felt confident applying for this product test because it contains 100% mugwort extract. I wasn't worried about any adverse reactions since I've already used about three bottles of a similar essence from the well-known brand B. I thought this mist version would be even more convenient. Brand B's essence was also very watery, and even applying 2-3 layers caused no irritation. However, I stopped purchasing it after three bottles as the effects weren't particularly impressive for the price. I didn't expect any dramatic results from this product either, but as my skin has been acting up for the past year and I'm on antibiotics from the dermatologist, I thought something gentle and non-irritating would be good. Upon using it, I found the spray function to be excellent - it disperses the product evenly and with just the right amount of force. The scent is similar to the mugwort scent of the product I used before. While it's not particularly hydrating, it's not drying either.
ConsThe most disappointing aspect was the texture. I expected it to be very watery like the essence from brand B, but after spraying, it feels quite slippery. This wasn't noticeable at first or when it was still wet, but after a while, it becomes very slick. So if you spray it two or three times, it would feel even more slippery. I'm not sure what's in the extract, but it felt very much like a toner containing glycerin. I used to use Mamonde's Chamomile toner, which also had only 12 ingredients and was gentle, but it had an inexplicably oily, slippery feel due to the glycerin, I think. This product feels almost exactly the same on the skin. So I didn't really like it. While it may not be related to the blemishes I experienced, I didn't enjoy how it felt on my skin.
TipIf I had to give a tip, I'd say it's not really a watery texture, so it's best not to layer it too much. The slippery feeling tends to linger.

I don't usually use mists, but I got lucky and tried this one. Thank you for this great opportunity! After washing my face, I sprayed it on and loved the mugwort scent. Unless you particularly dislike herbal or mugwort scents, I don't think it would be off-putting. Compared to other mugwort products on the market, it's more affordable, and being a mugwort product, it seems to have a calming effect.
ConsWhen sprayed, it leaves a slightly sticky feeling rather than the expected hydration. I personally don't like sticky or slippery textures, so I don't usually apply many products. This one felt a bit slippery right from the spray, and even after absorption, my face still felt slick, which was disappointing for me. If you dislike oily textures like I do, you might find it a bit heavy.
TipFrom my personal experience, I think it might be better to use this product by applying it to a cotton pad for wiping or as a soothing skin pack, rather than as a traditional mist.

I always spray this right after cleansing my face morning and evening. I liked how moisturizing it felt after spraying.
ConsTo be honest, I'm not sure if it's because I've recently switched to two new skincare products or if it's because of this product, but I received this on February 11th and used it for 2-3 days. I noticed three small bumps appeared on my cheeks. Also, even though I sprayed it on a bare face with no oil after cleansing, it made my skin feel slippery? It felt like I had applied an extremely greasy nourishing cream, which I didn't like at all. Starting tomorrow, I think I'll try using it once as the final step in my skincare routine before makeup, rather than on bare skin.
