That's why instead of using it daily, I apply it generously and massage it in on days when my skin feels uncomfortable or looks blotchy. By the next day, the irritation subsides completely.
ConsDespite being a completely water-based formula, it absorbs slowly and feels like it's sitting on top of the skin. The finish is more slippery than refreshing.

The scent was pleasant to me. When your skin feels dry, just spritz it on for an instant hydration boost! Perfect for those who find washing and doing a full skincare routine too bothersome.
ConsBecause it's all-natural, it feels like it doesn't absorb well into the skin. There's a sensation of it sitting on top of the skin. When I use it, I also get a slight feeling of oiliness, as if my skin is producing excess sebum.

As someone with super sensitive skin, it was gentle on my skin! You can find the best deal on Naver Shopping, where you can buy two for just 10,000 won.
ConsThe spray function is terrible. A few hours after applying, I developed red spots. The next day, I got two more folliculitis spots. It doesn't absorb well, leaving a greasy layer on the skin. It's not just moisturizing, but actually oily. It just doesn't work for me.
TipThis might be good for those who respond well to mugwort.

ConsI always have blemishes, so I was praying they wouldn't get worse! Unfortunately, after using this, I noticed more blemishes popping up... It seems this product doesn't agree with my skin. The absorption wasn't great either, leaving an oily residue on my skin's surface. And thanks to its spray bottle-level misting power, my hair always ended up greasy and the clothes around my neck area got wet. What a disappointment!
TipAfter washing my face, I spritzed it on quickly - spritz spritz! Then I had to wipe off the excess oiliness with a cotton pad.

Compared to other mists, this product provides excellent hydration! I have dry skin, but just spraying this alone prevented severe dryness. However, after applying, it feels a bit slippery, like you've applied oil... I guess that's why it's so moisturizing! This product is so gentle that I didn't experience any blemishes or skin sensitivity while using it. It even seems to slightly reduce redness!
ConsDespite being a mist, it's quite rich and doesn't absorb well... It's supposed to be used as the first step in skincare, but after applying this product, other products don't absorb well either. The spray distribution was disappointing... It takes about 3-4 sprays to cover the entire face! Personally, I didn't particularly like the scent. It's a polarizing fragrance, but the mugwort smell seems too strong.
TipSince this mist leaves a slightly dewy finish, I'd recommend it more for those with dry skin rather than oily skin. As it doesn't absorb very quickly, I'd suggest lightly misting rather than using it as a skin pack.

I have combination dehydrated skin - oily but lacking moisture. I don't often get acne or blemishes, but after some dermatology treatments, my skin became a bit sensitive. Recently, I've had some breakouts on my forehead and chin, so I was looking for mugwort-based products known to be good for blemishes. I came across this mist essence in a Hwahae Testers event and decided to try it. Although it's a mist essence, I used it like a toner by applying it with a cotton pad. 1. Effectiveness - I've been using this product for over two weeks, both as a toner and by soaking cotton pads and leaving them on troubled areas. My irritated skin didn't worsen, and the blemishes gradually subsided. While it wasn't a dramatic overnight improvement, I could see steady progress. The fact that my sensitive skin didn't react negatively suggests it's a very gentle product. I'm considering buying more mugwort-infused skincare products after I finish this one. 2. Scent - I'm not particularly fond of mugwort scent, but I don't mind fragrances in skincare products. When researching mugwort products, I saw some people complaining about overwhelming scents, but this product's fragrance isn't strong at all. Even those sensitive to smells should be able to use it comfortably. 3. Hydration - As someone with oily skin, I prefer less rich products even in winter, so my skincare routine tends to be on the drier side. However, as I've gotten older, my skin has become a bit drier, so I've started incorporating more hydrating products. This product doesn't provide intense hydration. It might be too dry for those with dry skin types. For me, it's adequately moisturizing when used before makeup in the morning, allowing my makeup to apply smoothly. However, when used at night after cleansing, followed by essence and moisturizer, it still felt a bit dry. I think it's suitable for creating a subtle glow before applying makeup in the morning. While I have combination dehydrated skin, those with oily skin who don't experience much dryness might find it suitable for both morning and evening use in winter. 4. I'm about 80% likely to purchase this product again.
Cons1. Texture - It doesn't absorb immediately into the skin, instead lingering on the surface. When I first used it, it felt slippery and left a residue on my hands, which I found off-putting. However, it didn't interfere with makeup application, so it wasn't a major issue. But if you dislike that feeling, this product might not be for you. 2. As mentioned earlier, it might be too dry for those with dry skin types. For oily skin, it might feel a bit heavy during summer. I think it's more suitable for winter use.
TipWhile I used it like a toner with a cotton pad, you could also try using it as a spot treatment by soaking cotton pads and leaving them on troubled areas like a mask. Also, for those with dry skin, spraying it before or after makeup can create a subtle glow effect (though it takes a bit of time to absorb into the skin).

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsHere's a review from one of The Hwahae Testers: I used this product for about 3 days. While it didn't seem to suit my skin as I noticed some blemishes appearing, there were some positives during this short period. I really enjoyed the moisturizing effect. Currently, I'm using it on my dry back and body after showering, and it works great! My boyfriend (skin type: dry/large pores/occasional pimples) had a different experience. He found that: The hydration is excellent, preventing any feeling of tightness on his face. Unlike me, it actually helped calm down his blemishes. He's very satisfied and continues to use it regularly.
ConsI started using the Mugwort Essence when my blemishes had just cleared up. Unfortunately, from the second day, I noticed new breakouts appearing. Given how difficult it was to get my skin clear, I decided to stop using it and passed it on to my boyfriend. The downsides I noticed were that it absorbs slowly and feels slightly heavy on the skin.
TipIt might be best to ensure the product is fully absorbed before going to bed.

I've been wanting to try a mugwort essence, so I was searching around and had my eye on the Frezju one. Luckily, I got a great opportunity to try it out. I've already used over a third of it while writing this review! Skin type: Combination dehydrated with deep dryness, super sensitive skin, issues with pores and blemishes Usage period: About 12 days, used once or twice daily Texture: Water-like essence with an oily feel, light green color, mugwort scent! Single ingredient mugwort extract with a slightly bitter taste Usage experience: I've been feeling facial tightness lately, so I was using jojoba oil. However, sometimes my face gets itchy when I apply oily products for dryness. So even when dry, I only used a drop of oil and applied it occasionally to avoid skin sensitivity. But with this mugwort essence, it seems to have hydration along with it, so it was fine to apply daily. I rarely need to use oil these days. ① As a skin pack: I soaked a cotton pad generously and left it on for 5 minutes. It didn't moisturize for me and caused dehydration, making my face red, so I only tried it twice and stopped. ② Right after cleansing: Perhaps due to the oil, it seemed to slow down the absorption of products applied afterward. It felt like things were sitting on top of my skin. ③ As a final step: It was perfect as a moisturizing barrier after applying everything else. I mostly used it this way as a finishing touch! One day I sprayed too much and thought I might break out, but my skin was fine the next day. I usually finish my routine with (exfoliating toner) - hydrating essence - light cream - (oil), but while using this mugwort essence, I used it instead of oil. I didn't notice any breakouts from the essence, but to avoid heaviness, I used it once or twice a day depending on my skin condition, mainly spraying it at night. Repurchase intention: To conclude, I would repurchase! My skin was originally not great, with pores, scars, blemishes, and redness. But while using this, I felt like my redness calmed down. Also, the bumpy texture reduced a lot. It's like my skin texture improved... I didn't take before photos because I didn't think there would be visible changes, but now I wish I had for comparison. It's not dramatically amazing, but I'm satisfied with the balanced oil and moisture balance, plus skin soothing effects. It helped my skin become healthier.
ConsAs mentioned above, it's not a product that deeply penetrates the skin, so it doesn't address deep dryness! For the same reason, it can't be used as a skin pack. When I used it as a skin pack, I didn't feel any soothing effect either.
TipSpraying it as a final moisturizing barrier after skincare works best! Also, be careful as it contains oil, which can be uncomfortable if it gets in your eyes.

Compared to other products using mugwort as a main ingredient, this one seems to offer better value for money. While the powerful spray might be surprising compared to mist-type products, this could actually be an advantage when using it with a cotton pad.
ConsDuring use, I couldn't help but think it might have been better as an essence type rather than a mist. When sprayed on the skin, it seems to absorb relatively slowly, and the feeling of dryness returns quickly. When spraying the mist while out, it left a shiny residue on my face and clothes. Still, with a bit of improvement, this product has the potential to be even better, given its great ingredients and price point.
TipFor a complexion with an Inner Glow, try generously soaking a cotton pad and gently patting it all over your face before bedtime or prior to applying makeup.

I have dry and sensitive skin, so when exposed to fine dust or other external irritants, I tend to develop small bumps. After using the Preju essence for over a week, I feel a similar satisfaction to when I used Brand B's essence. It seems to help in soothing those small bumps. Compared to Brand B's essence, it's much more affordable, and it's made with 100% mugwort extract, so I'd like to keep using it. Especially after yoga, when I sweat a lot and my face gets flushed, I plan to carry it around and use it as a mist. Since it's inexpensive, it's perfect for a quick application after working out without any financial burden.
ConsUnlike when I used Brand B's essence, Preju stung my eyes quite a bit when I sprayed it on my face. It was intense at first, but it seems to get better with continued use. Also, the finish feels quite unique. Instead of absorbing like water, it leaves a slight oily layer on the surface. It's like a silky texture... I think it might be a love-it-or-hate-it kind of formula.
TipWhen your face is flushed after a workout, regular mists might actually cause dryness, so spraying on the mugwort essence could be a great option!
