Initially, I was skeptical about using this product since the scent wasn't to my liking. However, I decided to give it a fair try since I won it. Now, on the fourth day of use, I'm pleasantly surprised! My skin, which had become sensitive due to wearing masks, feels much calmer. It absorbs well without any irritation, and I'm more satisfied than I expected. Haha! The fragrance isn't my cup of tea. It has that typical cosmetic smell, which made me think it might not be anything special. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJul 23, 2020
The Hwahae Testers review!! My skin is oily and prone to blemishes during stressful periods or menstruation. I usually prefer oil-free products with quick absorption and lightweight textures. Please excuse any inconsistencies in the order, as these are notes taken during use: • Absorbs quickly (slight stickiness, but not bothersome) • Not drying even when applied in a single layer after an exfoliating toner • No irritation around the nose area, which usually indicates incompatibility • Reduced redness of minor acne • Skin feels much smoother than before use • Redness from previous day's blemishes significantly faded • Suitable for summer use with just a light emulsion or cream • For winter, recommend using with a slightly richer product (like Sidmool Green Tea Emulsion) Though I only used it for a week, I consider toners more important than emulsions. That's why I took such detailed notes. It performed better than expected and seems great for oily skin types when used after an exfoliating toner and followed by an absorbent product. I'm satisfied!!! • Scent is slightly sour with a mild medicinal note (not noticeable during application) • Inconvenient bottle opening • Unavoidable oiliness around the nose area • Price is high for the amount • When applying by hand, use a small amount (about the size of a dime) for better absorption (using too much slows absorption and creates a white, foam-like residue) • Regular cotton pads left lint on my face, so I'll switch to tissue-like cotton pads - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 23, 2020
The Hwahae Testers review: First off, I have combination dehydrated skin that's super sensitive! I'm writing this review after using the product diligently for about 10 days - morning, evening, and before makeup. Positive points: The packaging is incredibly sleek and luxurious, which made me feel great when I received it! True to its name 'Red Pot Toner', the container is red, but I was surprised to find the toner itself has a slight tint. When applied to a cotton pad, it comes out as a light pink color, not red. The scent is reminiscent of alcohol, but it's not as harsh as you might expect! Unless you're particularly sensitive to fragrances, you should be fine using this. The best part was the hydration! Usually, toners are used for cleansing, but with this product, you can feel the moisture level rising as soon as you apply it. It doesn't feel overly rich, making it perfect for daily use. In terms of absorption, hydration, and how it feels on the skin, it performed well across the board! I typically use toners as exfoliating toners, and this product's watery consistency made it easy to use for that purpose! However, the small bottle opening also makes it convenient to use with your hands or cotton pads. Use it however you prefer! Recommended for: 1. Combination dehydrated skin (helps with deep dryness) 2. Those looking for a hydrating toner 3. People who aren't sensitive to fragrances (due to its distinct alcohol scent) Drawbacks: The distinct alcohol scent was a bit disappointing. While I'm not particularly sensitive to fragrances, I don't love the smell of alcohol, so I might not reach for this often. (I usually prefer unscented toners!) The glass bottle makes it quite heavy. After using plastic-bottled toners, this one felt noticeably heavier. If you have weak wrists, you might want to avoid this! Also, the bottle's opening is quite small, which can make it tricky to control how much product you're dispensing. Since toner is used frequently - morning, night, before makeup, etc. - these small inconveniences can add up. It contains one of the 20 ingredients to be cautious about. Coming from a very gentle toner, I did feel some irritation with this one. I even got a few small blemishes. If you have sensitive skin, you might want to opt for a gentler product! Lastly, the price is a bit steep. 25,000 won for 150ml is certainly not cheap! While the packaging is luxurious, which likely contributes to the cost, I personally think they could make consumers happier by switching to a lighter container and increasing the product volume. Not recommended for: 1. Super sensitive skin (due to the presence of potentially irritating ingredients) 2. Those sensitive to fragrances (because of the distinct alcohol scent) You can also use this as a mask by soaking cotton pads with the toner and placing them on your face. It's great for soothing the skin! - Hwahae UserDry SkinJul 22, 2020
It's rare to see a glass bottle these days. Personally, I prefer products in glass bottles as they seem to keep the contents fresher. I use this by applying it to a cotton pad and wiping my face. The texture feels like water. The liquid has a reddish tint, just like the bottle, and when I touch it, there's a very slight viscosity (barely noticeable). It's perfect for wiping the face. Even 30 minutes after use, without applying any additional cream, there was no deep dryness. I have super sensitive skin, but it didn't cause any blemishes. I'm satisfied with the amount, as it will last quite a while. There's a very slight tingling sensation, almost like alcohol. When my skin isn't in the best condition, it can cause a mild burning sensation. That's why I deliberately avoid applying it too close to my eyes.
