As a member of The Hwahae Testers, I'd like to share my thoughts before diving into the review. (I'll include my usage tips later!) I have dry skin and I'm very interested in toners and mists as the first step in my skincare routine after cleansing. I've tried various products, and this Red Pot Toner seems perfect for the job! Even though my cotton pads tend to shed and don't release product well, this toner left minimal lint and transferred easily. This suggests it's great for maintaining hydration after cleansing. To compare with other toners, I used only the Red Pot Toner and Himalaya Cream. It caused minimal irritation, similar to my usual 100% Boseong green tea vegan toner. Even when applied to a popped blemish, it stung less than other toners. With just these two steps in my routine, I noticed the moisturizing effect lasted longer and there was less deep dryness compared to other toners and mists. While I haven't tried it as a toner mask, I think it would work well for that too! Above all, the scent is lovely! I'm sensitive to fragrances, but I enjoy this one. Others have even commented on how good I smell after using the Red Pot Toner! Lastly, it seems to even out my complexion. Perhaps due to its skin texture improving properties, it appears to balance out uneven skin tone, making my skin look cleaner overall. The main drawback is that, being a watery skin type, it feels like it sits on top of the skin a bit. While absorption isn't poor, it's not particularly fast, leaving a lingering sensation on the face. Like other toners, it tends to run down the bottle when dispensing, which can be wasteful. I used this as the first step in my skincare routine right after cleansing in the bathroom! After washing my face, I wiped it once with a cotton pad, then patted the toner onto my skin using my hands. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 24, 2020
I love the light and refreshing scent. I thought the bottle was red, but it was actually the toner itself that's red - how interesting and cool! It seems to help calm down acne and blemishes a bit, which is nice. I don't think it has a significant effect on the skin. The advertising might be a bit exaggerated. There's a distinct cosmetic or chemical smell that I'm not too fond of. Also, the toner flows too easily when applying, making it a bit messy. It works well as a toner pack when used with cotton pads. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinJul 21, 2020
It's not sticky at all. After absorption, your skin feels wonderfully hydrated. The rapid absorption is top-notch. The more you use it, the stronger your skin barrier seems to become. It gives a sense of improving skin health, likely due to the centella asiatica extract and madecassoside ingredients. It comes in an opaque red glass container. Due to the opacity, I couldn't imagine the toner would be red in color. I missed that it's called 'Red Toner'. Be careful when applying it with a cotton pad, as it can stain clothes if it drips. Avoid pouring it directly into your palms. It's not unscented. There's a very subtle, tangy scent of hibiscus. After cleansing, gently pat your face dry, then apply the toner with a cotton pad to refine your skin texture. For areas with blemishes, saturate a cotton pad and use it as a spot treatment for quick soothing. While it may not be as effective as a spot patch, it definitely provides noticeable relief. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 26, 2020
The watery texture was great for doing a skin pack, and as I used it, I noticed my redness subsiding and blemishes calming down significantly. I also loved how well it absorbed into my skin. To be honest, while the ads show dramatic results, I didn't experience that myself. Of course, it may vary from person to person. Also, the glass container made me a bit nervous about accidentally breaking it, and the product tends to pour out too quickly. Using it as a skin pack with cotton pads helps reduce redness and calm blemishes to some extent.
