I loved that it didn't contain any harmful or allergenic ingredients. My skin didn't feel overly dry, and I didn't experience any irritation. The scent wasn't overpowering either. Overall, I was quite satisfied with this product! While I liked most aspects of this product, there was one major issue. I had an existing sunscreen, so I only started using this about 6 months after purchase. Unfortunately, I noticed that the oil layer and the sunscreen had severely separated. Although the product description mentioned potential separation, it claimed that shaking or massaging would recombine the layers. However, no matter how much I shook or kneaded the product, it absolutely refused to mix. I even tried warming it up and continuously working it, but to no avail. In the end, I had to use it with the oil layer still separated. I think this might be its biggest drawback. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinApr 26, 2022
Not drying at all Even though I have dry, sensitive skin and apply it thickly for over 8 hours, it doesn't dry out my skin or cause any blemishes. My skin definitely feels comfortable. Peachy brightening It gives a subtle peachy glow that's perfect for a no-foundation look. Just applying this alone makes your skin look beautiful. Smooth texture It has a rich feel without being heavy or pilling. It absorbs well. Excessive shine It's so shiny that if you apply it thickly down to your neck, the glow becomes excessive. It's almost comically over-the-top. Incompatible with masks When wearing a mask, it transfers and gets messy. It seems best to avoid using this during times when you need to wear a mask. - Hwahae UserDry SkinDec 2, 2021
Dr. Alga's sunscreen gives your complexion a radiant peach-beige glow. The texture isn't too heavy, making your skin feel comfortable, and it absorbs well! Even after hours, I didn't experience any dryness or darkening. It's formulated with gentle ingredients that won't irritate sensitive skin, and they transparently share their SPF clinical results, so I used it with confidence. The price is on the higher side, and it's not very accessible. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAug 2, 2021
My skin is super sensitive, so I've been sticking to Premium Sun Protection, but this absorbs better. It doesn't dry out my skin and gives a slight glow. Compared to Premium Sun Protection, it seems to be less effective at evening out skin tone. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 5, 2021
I have combination dehydrated skin that's super sensitive and prone to deep dryness. I decided to trust Dr. Alga and give it a try, and I'm quite satisfied with this product! First off, the ingredients are great and it's gentle enough for my blemish-prone skin without causing any irritation. The texture is a bit thick when applying, but it absorbs well and isn't too sticky. Plus, it's a mineral sunscreen that doesn't sting my eyes, which is fantastic. The brightening effect is subtle - just a slight correction? What I really appreciate is that it doesn't pill or leave a white cast, making it even better. It's light enough to wear alone on bare skin without feeling heavy, and it also works great as a makeup base without causing my makeup to slide around. The only downside for me was that it felt a bit drying after a while. I think I'll need to layer it over a solid skincare routine. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 3, 2021
It's great that it's not too drying and doesn't cause any irritation. The brightening color seems a bit dull. I wish it had a more natural, brighter effect. You probably won't need a separate base before applying makeup. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinSensitive SkinSep 30, 2020
I have dry and sensitive skin. With the changing seasons, I was looking for a rich product and ordered this after reading reviews. The texture is thick and creamy - should I say it's dense or elastic? Either way, I love that it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry. And when you first apply it, there's a subtle glow. When I applied it on damp skin, it left a slight white cast. But other than that, it's fine. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJun 17, 2020
I carefully considered why I gave it 3 stars. Initially, I trusted and used it because it was selected as the top sunscreen for longevity in a beauty show test. After all, sunscreen's durability is crucial. In winter, I didn't mind applying it thickly as its high moisturizing power prevented dryness even with heavy makeup. It doesn't leave a white cast even when applied generously. It's gentle on the skin. I gave it 3 stars because I was satisfied with these three aspects: gentleness, no white cast, and excellent longevity. The problem arose now. In summer, they say you need to apply about a 500 won coin-sized amount of sunscreen for it to be effective. So no matter how long-lasting it is, the amount used is important for proper protection. I kept using it as recommended because I have so many freckles, blemishes, and dark spots. However, when spring came, maybe due to the warmer weather, I opened the cap and squeezed as usual, but suddenly a watery liquid came gushing out. It was clearly a separation of some ingredient. It wasn't water, but seemed like oil. (I called the company directly, they said it's a natural emulsifier.) They explained that due to the high content of natural emulsifiers, separation occurs more often than in other sun products. But it got all over my bedding, clothes, and floor, making me afraid to open the cap. In summer, I'm using it by squeezing out the oil first until the cream comes out, but I won't buy such an inconvenient product again. Also, it's clear that after applying this sunscreen, when I put on primer and compact powder or foundation, my makeup doesn't look clear and transparent. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinMar 10, 2020
Pleasantly moisturizing without leaving a white cast, it gives a natural, subtle brightening effect. The sunscreen has a peachy tint. In summer, it provides a dewy glow, which becomes more manageable over time. It's a mineral sunscreen, non-nano, that doesn't cause blemishes or dryness, and does a good job of evening skin tone. After repurchasing and using it again, it seems to cause some oiliness and potential breakouts... It's on the pricier side. When applied in warmer weather, it feels slightly greasy and heavy, which might be too much for midsummer. It seems you really need to try it across all seasons to know for sure... The rich feeling is more noticeable right after application but lessens over time. It gives the skin a bit of a glow, which can make your complexion look good, but those who dislike shine might not appreciate it. Recommended for dry skin types. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMar 9, 2020
I'm currently on my 4th bottle, and I love how well this mineral sunscreen applies despite its formulation. It has a peachy tint that gives a slight brightening effect. There's hardly any white cast. It feels like it adheres well to the skin without feeling heavy or causing blemishes. Even though I have dry skin, I didn't feel any dryness with this. The absorption isn't the best, so it can leave a slight residue. It's also a bit rich, which some people might not like. Personally, I prefer white sunscreens, so the tint is a bit of a downside for me. Still, among mineral sunscreens, I haven't found one I like this much, so I'll probably keep using it for a while.
