What's more, its clear baby lavender tone naturally neutralizes both yellow and red undertones, effectively evening out the complexion. It brightens the skin beautifully, making it perfect as a primer alternative.
ConsThose with dehydrated skin might find it a bit drying. It does have a somewhat matte finish.

I've been a skincare nomad, but I think I'll settle down with this one.
ConsIt feels a bit dry when applying makeup over it... But I guess that's unavoidable.

If you have sensitive skin, please, for your own sake, don't buy this.
ConsIt felt so suffocating that I washed it off, only to find more blemishes appearing. The application is similar to other mineral sunscreens. Within an hour of applying, I noticed pimples popping up. At first, I thought it might be due to my new moisturizer, but seeing them on my neck too, I realized Espoir was the culprit! It severely clogs pores around the nose and leaves the skin feeling dry.
TipNothing to add.

The texture feels slightly matte. However, for those with dry skin, it might create a bit of a white cast.
ConsThe matte formula is a bit disappointing for those with dry skin. After application, it leaves a somewhat dry feeling. Since my complexion is on the darker side, the white cast was quite noticeable. This would be perfect for those with fair skin.
TipFor those with oily skin, try applying a hydrating product as your base before using this. If you apply it directly, it might feel a bit drying.

This product definitely brightens my complexion. The purple base neutralizes both yellow and red undertones, so I don't even need foundation - concealer is enough to cover any imperfections! I've used it as a brightening moisturizer before makeup, and it doesn't feel heavy even with foundation on top. As described, it has a 'silky priming texture' that somewhat covers texture and pores, resulting in a cleaner makeup look. It's also great for matching neck color. Despite my sensitive, atopic skin, I didn't experience any blemishes. It brightens quite noticeably, even for my fair skin with redness - almost to the point where I wonder if it's too much.
ConsIt has that typical mineral sunscreen stiffness when applying, and there's a slight dry, powdery feeling. I'd recommend having a really solid skincare routine underneath. It finishes with a matte look!
TipApplying with a spatula brush and then patting with a damp puff finally made me feel like I was getting my money's worth. It applies in an incredibly thin layer and creates a great base for makeup application.

My skin type is extremely, extremely dry. I never used to have redness, but as I've gotten older, my skin occasionally flushes red like rosacea! I also have severe dark circles and my skin tone is 23, which is on the darker side. Using this product with its purple tint has really brightened my complexion and is quite effective! Compared to other sunscreens with tone-up effects, like the square shake-before-use brightening moisturizer or the similar pink sunscreen: This purple tone-up sunscreen eliminates all the inconveniences of the previous very thin brightening moisturizer. That one had a cute container but it leaked, was inconvenient, and didn't sit well on the skin, so I quickly stopped using it despite initially liking it. This new one is so much better! It's more hydrating and absorbs better than the original pink brightening moisturizer!! Espoir has really been working hard lately... Several products have been renewed, especially their color cosmetics. While the old versions were good, I'm really enjoying the new versions too. Compared to the basic pink sunscreen, this one feels slightly thinner? The pink one seems a bit richer, though I'm not entirely sure as it's been almost 4 years since I used it.. But that's why I like this one more. I love that it's actually called a sunscreen.. And it's purple!!! Other companies already have similar products, but Espoir's version is great in its own right!!! The ingredients are also perfect without any major concerns!! It seems like it would be great for a natural makeup look too.
ConsCompared to a very basic light green watery hydrating sunscreen, this one is definitely drier! But that's unavoidable.. It's hard to expect the same texture, knowing that.. Since it's a mineral sunscreen that emphasizes tone-up effects, if not applied properly, it might cause makeup to pill. It does finish matte.. That's about the only downside.
TipIf you apply too much, you'll look like a ghost! Controlling the amount is essential!

It's not easy for me to try new products outside of my usual few. Please keep this in mind! 1. Texture โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ The product has a similar texture to what we typically expect from a mineral sunscreen. However, it feels smoother rather than rough. 2. Application โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ It applies much better than I initially expected from the texture. It adheres smoothly to the skin, and when I applied it with a puff, it spread evenly without any clumping. 3. Tone Correction โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ My usual makeup routine is skincare > sunscreen > brightening moisturizer > concealer > cushion/foundation > powder. I consider the role of the brightening moisturizer crucial, and this product does an amazing job at evening skin tone with just a small amount! It's a sunscreen base that gives a slightly paler look compared to the purple Mebby. At first, I wasn't sure about the tone correction, so I applied a lot and did my base makeup. But just before going out, I was so surprised that I had to change my neckline... I'm not sure what technology they use, but over time, it creates a naturally bright, healthy-looking complexion. You might want to test it on the front of your neck to see the difference. You'll find yourself unable to leave the untested back of your neck alone! The tone correction ability is really impressive. 4. Longevity โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ The combination of this sunscreen with foundation over light skincare had excellent staying power. In the morning, I did my makeup, and at lunchtime, I only needed to blot away a bit of oil with blotting paper. (You'll need to touch up in the evening though)
Cons1. Light skincare is essential (affects longevity) Like all makeup products, this sunscreen has a primer-like function. If you use too rich of a skincare base before makeup, the longevity decreases significantly. However, when I used light skincare beforehand, the staying power was great! 2. Slightly drying It can feel a bit drying for winter use. But I think it would be perfect for spring, summer, and early fall.
TipThe combination of light skincare, this sunscreen, and foundation has amazing staying power. I apply it with a silicone pack brush (the kind I usually use for foundation), then pat it in with a triangular puff from Daiso dampened with a cream mist (Real Barrier Cream Mist). This helps the makeup adhere well.

My complexion is quite fair, around shade 15-17. This brightening moisturizer definitely delivers on its tone-up promise - it noticeably brightens even my light skin. While it's marketed as hydrating, I found it excelled more in adherence than moisture. The staying power is decent. It's not completely lacking in hydration, but I'd recommend it for spring and fall rather than winter. Interestingly, it offers some coverage in addition to evening skin tone. With the right amount, those with fair skin like mine should find this product satisfying.
ConsBe careful with the application - use too much and you might end up looking like a ghost! Also, those with dry skin might find it a bit lacking in moisture during the drier seasons.
TipFor best results, apply to well-moisturized skin, carefully controlling the amount. Finish with a mist for a subtle glow that makes your skin look fantastic.

The product has a purple tint, but when applied, it neutralizes yellow undertones, resulting in a fair and bright complexion. As someone with super sensitive skin who's tried almost every mineral sunscreen out there, I can say the skin tone after application is truly beautiful. The brightening effect leans more towards a cool undertone rather than deep, fitting well with current trends. Longevity The adherence is really impressive. Even after some time and slight friction, I noticed the brightening effect was well-maintained. Since you can visually confirm the formula, it reassured me that not only would the sunscreen itself last well, but its primary function of UV protection would also be sustained. Foundation-free Due to its brightening effect and longevity, this product is great for those who only want to even out their skin tone without foundation. Ingredient composition (Melasma prevention) I once saw a dermatologist on YouTube mention that titanium dioxide and iron oxides in sunscreens are effective in preventing UV-induced melasma. I've been consciously trying to use sunscreens with these ingredients, and I was satisfied to find that this product contains both. [FYI: The YouTube video suggested that applying sunscreen followed by makeup can be unexpectedly good for melasma prevention - due to the iron oxides in makeup bases] * Similar product experience I felt the texture was similar to the <Innisfree Tone Up No Sebum Sunscreen> I used before. Looking at the ingredients, I noticed similarities in using both zinc and titanium for mineral protection, as well as the presence of iron oxides. The difference will likely come down to personal preference for tone-up effect. If you prefer a whitening effect with a purple tint (cool undertone feel), go for Espoir. If you want a clear brightening with a pink tint (deep undertone feel), I recommend the Innisfree product.
ConsAnother word for tone-up is white cast, so those who dislike strong white cast in mineral sunscreens might not find this suitable. The following points are related to product characteristics, so please consider based on your personal preferences before use. Dryness & Pilling While the brightening effect and sunscreen longevity are good, the strong adherence seems to absorb facial oils, often leaving my skin feeling dry after about 4 hours. It might be more suitable for humid summers than winter. Possibly due to the iron oxides, there's some pilling. This occurs in two situations: first, when I apply a bit too much, and second, when it dries out over time. For dry or combination skin, a thorough skincare routine before application is necessary for a beautiful skin finish. Makeup compatibility The pilling made me think it might be inconvenient to use with other base products. Also, since the product already contains iron oxides, adding more base makeup might make the skin look a bit heavy. Therefore, while I'm personally very satisfied with this product as I prefer a foundation-free look, I think others might have mixed feelings about it, which is why I've given it 4 stars instead of 5.
TipMake sure to moisturize thoroughly before use and pay attention to the amount you apply.

Plus, the case has a beautiful mix of purple and white, making it a stylish accessory to show off. The packaging was also carefully and safely done. The brightening effect is truly amazing, though this could potentially be a drawback, so everyone should be careful with the amount they apply. Lastly, I want to highlight that while it's matte, it doesn't turn your skin into a dry desert! My skin type is combination dehydrated and sensitive, and I think I'll keep using this once the peak of winter passes.
ConsNow that it's the dead of winter, using this made my U-zone a bit dry. However, with good skincare and careful application, it was manageable! Still, I plan to avoid using it during the harshest winter months.
TipI highly recommend applying this with a spatula and sponge. The texture is a bit thick, so it can go on heavy if you just use your hands to apply it. You can really feel how well it goes on when you use the right tools. For those with dry skin like me, here are some must-follow tips: avoid using it in the depths of winter, focus on thorough skincare (especially your base routine) before application, and always use a spatula and sponge. Also, because this product really brightens your complexion, it's crucial to control the amount you use!
