Compared to other mineral sunscreens, it's not overly drying given how well it absorbs.
ConsIt has that typical stiffness of brightening moisturizers with SPF, but it's not extremely drying. The white cast is so noticeable it could be both a pro and a con - it really makes your face look very white.

The product has a purple tint, but when applied, it neutralizes yellow undertones, resulting in a fair and bright complexion. As someone with super sensitive skin who's tried almost every mineral sunscreen out there, I can say the skin tone after application is truly beautiful. The brightening effect leans more towards a cool undertone rather than deep, fitting well with current trends. Longevity The adherence is really impressive. Even after some time and slight friction, I noticed the brightening effect was well-maintained. Since you can visually confirm the formula, it reassured me that not only would the sunscreen itself last well, but its primary function of UV protection would also be sustained. Foundation-free Due to its brightening effect and longevity, this product is great for those who only want to even out their skin tone without foundation. Ingredient composition (Melasma prevention) I once saw a dermatologist on YouTube mention that titanium dioxide and iron oxides in sunscreens are effective in preventing UV-induced melasma. I've been consciously trying to use sunscreens with these ingredients, and I was satisfied to find that this product contains both. [FYI: The YouTube video suggested that applying sunscreen followed by makeup can be unexpectedly good for melasma prevention - due to the iron oxides in makeup bases] * Similar product experience I felt the texture was similar to the <Innisfree Tone Up No Sebum Sunscreen> I used before. Looking at the ingredients, I noticed similarities in using both zinc and titanium for mineral protection, as well as the presence of iron oxides. The difference will likely come down to personal preference for tone-up effect. If you prefer a whitening effect with a purple tint (cool undertone feel), go for Espoir. If you want a clear brightening with a pink tint (deep undertone feel), I recommend the Innisfree product.
ConsAnother word for tone-up is white cast, so those who dislike strong white cast in mineral sunscreens might not find this suitable. The following points are related to product characteristics, so please consider based on your personal preferences before use. Dryness & Pilling While the brightening effect and sunscreen longevity are good, the strong adherence seems to absorb facial oils, often leaving my skin feeling dry after about 4 hours. It might be more suitable for humid summers than winter. Possibly due to the iron oxides, there's some pilling. This occurs in two situations: first, when I apply a bit too much, and second, when it dries out over time. For dry or combination skin, a thorough skincare routine before application is necessary for a beautiful skin finish. Makeup compatibility The pilling made me think it might be inconvenient to use with other base products. Also, since the product already contains iron oxides, adding more base makeup might make the skin look a bit heavy. Therefore, while I'm personally very satisfied with this product as I prefer a foundation-free look, I think others might have mixed feelings about it, which is why I've given it 4 stars instead of 5.
TipMake sure to moisturize thoroughly before use and pay attention to the amount you apply.

I remember using Espoir's Water Splash Sunscreen with satisfaction before, so I applied for this event and tried it out. I had also written a Hwahae review for the previous product I used. The performance itself doesn't feel drastically different from the one I used before - it's still quite moisturizing and applies lightly. (It's hydrating for a sunscreen, but naturally drier than a moisturizer.) The fact that it applies relatively smoothly and moisturizes well seems to be this product's biggest advantage. The packaging is also decent - a clean design that allows for easy control of the amount dispensed.
ConsAh... the color might be polarizing. I thought it would be fine since I've used green and purple bases in my younger days, but I guess my skin tone has changed as I've aged. My complexion is a bit sallow... So when I applied it, instead of brightening, it felt like it dulled my complexion. I haven't used it many times, so it could be due to lack of technique, but it might feel like the white cast from mineral sunscreens if you're not careful. Based on my memories from younger days, it might be a good choice for those with redness. The color has a calming effect, so I thought it might work better if you layer color cosmetics or blush on top. When used alone, it seems like it would depend on your skin tone. (Embarrassingly, I'm posting a photo of it applied to my cheeks after just finishing my skincare routine). Also, while it applies lightly, it feels a bit rich, so you'll need to pay attention to cleansing. (The cleansing issue applies to sunscreens in general, not just this product).
TipSince I haven't used it for long, I haven't discovered any specific tips, but I'll have to figure out how to use it well in the upcoming spring.

I love how it brightens my complexion without any yellow undertones. The texture is quite fluid, making it feel light and absorb well after application. You only need about half the amount compared to other sunscreens. There's a subtle difference, but when applied right before makeup, it gives you smoother skin than other sunscreens!
ConsIt does have a bit of a white cast, so it takes about 3 hours for the skin tone to even out naturally. Perhaps due to its brightening function, it doesn't absorb as quickly as I'd like.

Being waterproof, it should be great for summer use! ✔️Texture: Finishes with a powdery feel, leaving skin feeling fresh and matte. Repurchase intention: Moderate
Cons- The color doesn't match well with my yellowish undertone.. Instead of brightening, it feels like applying a sunscreen with a white cast. - Might be a bit drying for dry skin in winter. It tends to accentuate dead skin cells.
TipMixing it with my usual (CellFusion C) sunscreen creates a nice brightening effect while keeping skin hydrated!

Due to the dry weather in the morning, I applied a generous amount of skincare and used this as the final step. It's great as a base before foundation, providing natural glow and minimizing pores. The blemish coverage is so good that I didn't even need to apply foundation afterwards.
ConsAs someone with cool-toned skin, I experienced a white cast. On the first day, it felt like I had applied too much, similar to sunscreen. On the second day, I tried using only about half a pinky fingertip's worth, which reduced the white cast but still didn't look natural - it seemed to sit on top of my skin. It's disappointing that it doesn't blend seamlessly. Also, since it's waterproof, it tends to clog pores and requires thorough double cleansing, which is a bit of a hassle.
TipThis product can naturally replace your base makeup even with a small amount. It's best to start with just a little when first using it.

Originally, I had oily skin, but as I approached my late 30s, it became dry, with some blemishes and redness. I don't wear makeup often, so I've tried various brightening sunscreens, and this one's brightening effect is definitely superior to other products. While it may not be obvious in photos, there's a noticeable difference in tone between the applied and non-applied areas, especially around dark circles. It doesn't cover blemishes, but it does even out the skin tone effectively, making it about one shade lighter. The purple tint makes it great for those with redness issues. Application It's not overly thick, but it has a cream-like consistency that maintains its form when applied to the back of your hand. Despite the name 'Water Splash', it doesn't feel watery. Instead, it seems to address deep dryness rather than providing surface-level hydration. As someone with dry skin who prefers a moisturizing base, I didn't find it too matte or drying when applied. It also didn't cause any pilling when I applied foundation over it. Longevity The formula is substantial enough that it doesn't feel overly oily. Once applied, it adheres well to the skin. Even after a long time, I didn't notice any increase in oiliness or any feeling of the product wearing off.
ConsAmount control At first, I applied it with my hands like other sunscreens, but perhaps due to its strong brightening effect, there was a slight white cast and uneven application. It's difficult to apply evenly, so you need to use small amounts at a time.
TipTips for beautiful application First, whether you have dry or oily skin, make sure your base is very well-moisturized. Then, apply small amounts to your face and spread it out. Use a damp beauty sponge to pat and blend it in. This will even out your complexion and help it adhere beautifully to your skin. In my case, when I applied foundation after this sunscreen, my skin looked about a shade lighter compared to other sunscreens, which I really liked. Even those with dry skin can achieve a beautiful application if they create a solid, hydrated base.
