I've been a skincare nomad, but I think I'll settle down with this one.
ConsIt feels a bit dry when applying makeup over it... But I guess that's unavoidable.

The absorbs well, so there's no pilling, and it spreads thinly and evenly with just my fingers, making it super easy to apply. The brightening effect was natural too! It was especially great for evening out my complexion on my neck. If it were a bit cheaper, I'd absolutely use it as a body sunscreen too!
ConsI can't think of any downsides! Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with everything about it. Espoir is amazing!

The absorbs well, has great adherence, and most importantly, its brightening effect is amazing. I can skip foundation and just use this! Plus, being a mineral sunscreen, it doesn't cause any blemishes. Unlike my old cica tone-up that would develop an oily film over time, this Tone-Up Lasting stays fresh and matte, which is great for those with oily skin. It's non-sticky, doesn't pill, and applies smoothly even directly over moisturizer. Please don't discontinue this one!
ConsThe brightening effect has a strong lavender tint, so those with darker skin tones might end up looking ghostly. I'd recommend this for those with light skin tones, shade 21 or lighter!
TipThe brightening effect is quite noticeable, so make sure to blend it carefully down to your neck for a natural transition!

The texture is pleasantly matte, doesn't emphasize dead skin cells, and it's super helpful!
ConsAfter some time, it can slightly accentuate dead skin cells! Apply carefully for the best results!

It's moisturizing and leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth after application!
ConsWhen I first applied it, I used the amount I normally use for brightening moisturizers, but I was shocked at how white it made me look. It was fine when I used just a little. Also, it has a strong purple tint that gives a grayish cast to the skin.
TipIt's really great if you can control the amount well. I found it worked best when I squeezed out a little bit onto my pinky finger to apply.

The lavender color really helps even out skin tone! It doesn't make you look too pale or red, but gives a natural brightening effect. (My mom even asked why I looked so fair when I came back from applying sunscreen!) It applies smoothly with a moisturizing feel, but leaves a soft matte finish! Highly recommended for those with oily skin who get shiny even in winter! A little goes a long way and it's very effective! I went skiing with just this sunscreen on my bare face and didn't get sunburned at all. Recommended for oily skin types even in winter! For combination dehydrated skin, it's perfect for summer! In winter, make sure to moisturize well before applying.
ConsIt's more matte than expected, so you need to be thorough with your skincare routine before applying. Sometimes when I rushed and went out, I noticed some dead skin cells showing. To be fair, this is partly due to my skin condition, and it's somewhat unavoidable with a sunscreen that leaves a soft matte finish.
TipIf you need to use a dewy cushion foundation in winter but worry about excess oil, and using powder constantly makes touch-ups difficult, try using this as a base before applying your cushion!

Not recommended for winter or as a sunscreen replacement. [Advantages] "Better than tone-up with white cast from mineral sunscreens" โข Pore blurring - As described on the product page, it has a silky priming texture that slightly blurs pores and leaves a powdery finish. โข Good staying power - True to the product description, it's waterproof and adheres well to skin. Seems to last a long time. โข Slightly better tone-up than mineral sunscreens' white cast - Due to its pore-blurring effect and light purple tint, it looks a bit more natural than the white cast from mineral sunscreens. โข Braille on packaging - The package has Braille, making it easier for visually impaired individuals to identify the product.
Cons[Disadvantages] "Features that could have been advantages if released as a makeup base for summer become drawbacks when released as a winter sunscreen" โข Impossible to apply the proper amount of sunscreen - Espoir shouldn't have released this as a sunscreen. It should have been marketed as a makeup base with sun protection. There's a specific amount of sunscreen that needs to be applied, but for reasons listed below, it's impossible to apply the proper amount. If you can't apply enough, the sun protection will be less effective, so I don't understand why they insisted on making it a sunscreen. โข Applying the proper amount makes you too pale - If you apply it like regular sunscreen, you'll literally turn white. You need to pat on thin layers to achieve just a tone-up effect. As you can see in the photo, I squeezed out my usual amount but only used a tiny bit. Even that small amount made my face white. This could be an advantage for a makeup base, achieving tone-up with less product, but it's a disadvantage for a sunscreen that requires a specific amount. โข More suitable for summer than winter - Espoir shouldn't have released this product in winter. If they had launched it in summer, reviews might have been better, praising it for being powdery yet less drying. But since it's winter, many skin types might experience deep dryness. It should be good for summer use though. Due to the dryness, those with dry or combination dehydrated skin probably can't use this product alone or in the proper amount. โข Difficult to remove - While its long-lasting nature is an advantage, it's also hard to remove. For testing, I applied the product and double-cleansed with a cleansing balm and foam, but still felt like something remained on my skin, so I double-cleansed again. It could be an issue with my cleansing products, but I've never had to double-cleanse twice before, so I was surprised.
Tip[Tips] โข Pat it on - When applying with your hands, don't rub it in. Instead, think 'my fingers are a puff' and pat it on. This prevents clumping. Pat, gently smooth out any clumps, then pat again. (If you have tools like spatulas or sponges, use them actively.) โข Mix with a moisturizing chemical sunscreen - I tried mixing it with my usual moisturizing, easily washable chemical sunscreen. It was less drying, the tone-up was more natural, and it was easier to cleanse off, which I liked. Recommended for those with dry or combination dehydrated skin.

They all either made my skin look dull rather than bright, or left an excessively white cast. This made me wary of tinted base products. However! The Espoir product brightens the complexion beautifully! Therefore, I highly recommend this product for those with shade 22 oily skin types! If you set it with powder afterward, you can achieve an incredibly fair and velvety skin finish.
ConsSince even a small amount provides significant brightening, the container opening could be slightly narrower to prevent overuse.

It's perfect when you want to skip foundation but still want to enhance your complexion. Remember, sunscreen is an absolute must! The purple tint is fantastic for balancing out yellow undertones in your skin. The texture is incredibly smooth - I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars for how well it absorbs. The finish is wonderfully lightweight, leaving your skin feeling fresh and matte. I can't wait to try it out this summer!
ConsSince I usually use a lavender-colored makeup base, I tried using this sunscreen as a substitute. It was fine on its own, but when I applied foundation over it, it started to break down after about 10 hours. I think it's crucial to ensure your skin is well-hydrated underneath for the best results.
TipMake sure to exfoliate and avoid applying too much skincare underneath, or it might lead to pilling. Pay attention to your base skincare routine!

I love how it brightens with a subtle purple tone. When applying for meetings, even a small amount gives a nice purple hue. If you accidentally apply too much, using a puff can help blend it out nicely.
ConsIf you apply too much, the purple tone can become a bit overwhelming, which isn't ideal.
TipUsing a puff or sponge helps eliminate any purple cast on the skin.
