The staying power is truly impressive.
ConsShocked by how it cakes around my nose - never experienced this with any other product. It settles into lines and flakes off terribly... now I'm only applying it to my cheeks.
TipEven with thorough moisturizing beforehand, it still tends to separate on the skin.

I've been a skincare nomad, but I think I'll settle down with this one.
ConsIt feels a bit dry when applying makeup over it... But I guess that's unavoidable.

It provides excellent brightening and has a stay-put formula without any pilling. When used as a base, it helps makeup adhere well, improving its longevity.
ConsThe stay-put formula can be challenging to spread if you don't apply it quickly. It may settle slightly around the nose, and since it provides significant brightening, you need to be careful with the amount you use.

ConsNot recommended for dry skin Especially during seasonal changes or winter, it lacks oil and can be drying

I love that it's not colorless, making it great for color correcting. As someone with yellow-toned skin, I used to always do color correction before applying base makeup, but with this product, I don't need to anymore - it's so convenient! Plus, it has sun protection, which is a bonus. It doesn't settle into pores and has excellent staying power.
ConsThe downside is its lack of coverage... While that's expected from a brightening moisturizer, it might be a bit disappointing for those looking to go foundation-free. However, its advantages outweigh this drawback. Also, since it's tinted, applying too much could potentially turn you into a purple person!
TipApply a moderate amount evenly, and use it for color correcting rather than as a foundation replacement!

This product was particularly useful for cool-toned makeup looks. ยท Since it's water-resistant, it should be great for summer use. ยท While I don't often go foundation-free, this product has a nice finish and effectively neutralizes yellow undertones, making it suitable for those who prefer a no-foundation look.
Consยท Due to deep dryness in my cheek area, I experienced some white flaking. This was likely exacerbated by exposure to cold winter winds. I'd recommend those with dry skin use this more in spring, summer (especially), and fall rather than winter. If you do use it in winter, ensure your skincare routine is thorough to avoid issues.

The product has a purple tint, but when applied, it neutralizes yellow undertones, resulting in a fair and bright complexion. As someone with super sensitive skin who's tried almost every mineral sunscreen out there, I can say the skin tone after application is truly beautiful. The brightening effect leans more towards a cool undertone rather than deep, fitting well with current trends. Longevity The adherence is really impressive. Even after some time and slight friction, I noticed the brightening effect was well-maintained. Since you can visually confirm the formula, it reassured me that not only would the sunscreen itself last well, but its primary function of UV protection would also be sustained. Foundation-free Due to its brightening effect and longevity, this product is great for those who only want to even out their skin tone without foundation. Ingredient composition (Melasma prevention) I once saw a dermatologist on YouTube mention that titanium dioxide and iron oxides in sunscreens are effective in preventing UV-induced melasma. I've been consciously trying to use sunscreens with these ingredients, and I was satisfied to find that this product contains both. [FYI: The YouTube video suggested that applying sunscreen followed by makeup can be unexpectedly good for melasma prevention - due to the iron oxides in makeup bases] * Similar product experience I felt the texture was similar to the <Innisfree Tone Up No Sebum Sunscreen> I used before. Looking at the ingredients, I noticed similarities in using both zinc and titanium for mineral protection, as well as the presence of iron oxides. The difference will likely come down to personal preference for tone-up effect. If you prefer a whitening effect with a purple tint (cool undertone feel), go for Espoir. If you want a clear brightening with a pink tint (deep undertone feel), I recommend the Innisfree product.
ConsAnother word for tone-up is white cast, so those who dislike strong white cast in mineral sunscreens might not find this suitable. The following points are related to product characteristics, so please consider based on your personal preferences before use. Dryness & Pilling While the brightening effect and sunscreen longevity are good, the strong adherence seems to absorb facial oils, often leaving my skin feeling dry after about 4 hours. It might be more suitable for humid summers than winter. Possibly due to the iron oxides, there's some pilling. This occurs in two situations: first, when I apply a bit too much, and second, when it dries out over time. For dry or combination skin, a thorough skincare routine before application is necessary for a beautiful skin finish. Makeup compatibility The pilling made me think it might be inconvenient to use with other base products. Also, since the product already contains iron oxides, adding more base makeup might make the skin look a bit heavy. Therefore, while I'm personally very satisfied with this product as I prefer a foundation-free look, I think others might have mixed feelings about it, which is why I've given it 4 stars instead of 5.
TipMake sure to moisturize thoroughly before use and pay attention to the amount you apply.

Not recommended for winter or as a sunscreen replacement. [Advantages] "Better than tone-up with white cast from mineral sunscreens" โข Pore blurring - As described on the product page, it has a silky priming texture that slightly blurs pores and leaves a powdery finish. โข Good staying power - True to the product description, it's waterproof and adheres well to skin. Seems to last a long time. โข Slightly better tone-up than mineral sunscreens' white cast - Due to its pore-blurring effect and light purple tint, it looks a bit more natural than the white cast from mineral sunscreens. โข Braille on packaging - The package has Braille, making it easier for visually impaired individuals to identify the product.
Cons[Disadvantages] "Features that could have been advantages if released as a makeup base for summer become drawbacks when released as a winter sunscreen" โข Impossible to apply the proper amount of sunscreen - Espoir shouldn't have released this as a sunscreen. It should have been marketed as a makeup base with sun protection. There's a specific amount of sunscreen that needs to be applied, but for reasons listed below, it's impossible to apply the proper amount. If you can't apply enough, the sun protection will be less effective, so I don't understand why they insisted on making it a sunscreen. โข Applying the proper amount makes you too pale - If you apply it like regular sunscreen, you'll literally turn white. You need to pat on thin layers to achieve just a tone-up effect. As you can see in the photo, I squeezed out my usual amount but only used a tiny bit. Even that small amount made my face white. This could be an advantage for a makeup base, achieving tone-up with less product, but it's a disadvantage for a sunscreen that requires a specific amount. โข More suitable for summer than winter - Espoir shouldn't have released this product in winter. If they had launched it in summer, reviews might have been better, praising it for being powdery yet less drying. But since it's winter, many skin types might experience deep dryness. It should be good for summer use though. Due to the dryness, those with dry or combination dehydrated skin probably can't use this product alone or in the proper amount. โข Difficult to remove - While its long-lasting nature is an advantage, it's also hard to remove. For testing, I applied the product and double-cleansed with a cleansing balm and foam, but still felt like something remained on my skin, so I double-cleansed again. It could be an issue with my cleansing products, but I've never had to double-cleanse twice before, so I was surprised.
Tip[Tips] โข Pat it on - When applying with your hands, don't rub it in. Instead, think 'my fingers are a puff' and pat it on. This prevents clumping. Pat, gently smooth out any clumps, then pat again. (If you have tools like spatulas or sponges, use them actively.) โข Mix with a moisturizing chemical sunscreen - I tried mixing it with my usual moisturizing, easily washable chemical sunscreen. It was less drying, the tone-up was more natural, and it was easier to cleanse off, which I liked. Recommended for those with dry or combination dehydrated skin.

Being waterproof, it should be great for summer use! โ๏ธTexture: Finishes with a powdery feel, leaving skin feeling fresh and matte. Repurchase intention: Moderate
Cons- The color doesn't match well with my yellowish undertone.. Instead of brightening, it feels like applying a sunscreen with a white cast. - Might be a bit drying for dry skin in winter. It tends to accentuate dead skin cells.
TipMixing it with my usual (CellFusion C) sunscreen creates a nice brightening effect while keeping skin hydrated!

I expected a light purple with beige undertones, but in reality, it's a true purple that looks like it would neutralize yellow tones effectively. When applied to the face, it feels a bit dry. For someone with very dry skin like me, I need to use a super hydrating base to make it work. A little goes a long way in brightening, so it's best to apply it gradually while checking the effect. The staying power is great! When applied over sunscreen and under cushion foundation, there's no darkening throughout the day. I recommend this for people with strong yellow undertones and skin that isn't extremely dry. --- Update: Using it with a damp beauty sponge makes it non-drying and amazing! Usually, base products darken on me over time, but when I apply a thin layer of this with a sponge under my cushion foundation, there's no darkening all day. I use it daily and highly recommend it!
ConsThe only drawback might be that it's drying...? However, even my mom with extremely dry skin uses it daily with a hydrating base and is very satisfied. --- It's not drying at all when applied with a damp sponge!!!!!!!!!
