I personally find that it absorbs well and has a nice texture. The scent is also fairly pleasant. I notice a slight tingling sensation that comes and goes. This is just my subjective experience though. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinApr 9, 2018
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! 1. It was really great for my combination dehydrated oily skin! I used to maintain my skincare routine with 5 layers of toner, aloe gel, and emulsion. But when I replaced the emulsion with this cream after the aloe gel, it felt much less rich while still providing hydration. 2. I'm impressed by the ingredients... I was surprised by how clean the ingredient list is! Because the ingredients are so good, I've been using it daily with peace of mind. It seems many people experienced the tingling sensation! I also felt a slight burning sensation and tingling when my skin was super sensitive or on days when I had extracted acne. So far, I haven't had any special side effects, so I intend to continue using it. I think it would be great for those with oily skin to use lightly during summer! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinApr 5, 2018
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers. I have combination dehydrated skin and my skin is somewhat sensitive. I've been using this for about two weeks, applying it every morning and evening. The feeling when applying is moisturizing with low oil content. The hydration lasts quite long. Compared to other creams, I felt that my makeup adhered better when I used this cream. One slight drawback was a tingling sensation for a short while after application. However, it didn't happen every day, and today when I applied it, I felt nothing. Still, those with super sensitive skin might want to take this into consideration. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinApr 3, 2018
★The Hwahae Testers Review★ 1. Product Description - A hydration bomb recipe full of moisture and nourishment Dual-functional for brightening and anti-wrinkle 70ml, includes spatula 2. Application As someone with oily but dehydrated skin, a 'face oil + cream' combination is essential for me. For the Hwahae Testers review, I tried applying just the cream without face oil, and the application is very smooth. I dislike thick textures, but this felt like applying hand cream - very pleasant. 3. Absorption Perhaps because it's not a thick type, it absorbs well. It seemed to absorb quickly even without patting it in. 4. Brightening and Anti-wrinkle Functions The product contains 'niacinamide and adenosine', which are said to have brightening and anti-wrinkle properties respectively. 5. No Harmful Ingredients According to the Hwahae app, there are no dangerous ingredients. As I have sensitive skin, I always check ingredients before choosing products, and I'm pleased with this. 1. Moisturizing Power It's not sufficient as a moisturizing cream. My combination dehydrated skin feels too dry... It absorbs so well that it feels like my skin dries out quickly. ☞ So, I'd recommend this for dry or oily skin types who want to manage both brightening and anti-wrinkle concerns simultaneously. 2. Tingling & Burning Sensation + Itching, Blemishes ...I'm not the only one experiencing this, based on other reviews. I wondered why this happens despite the good ingredients, and after some research, I think it might be due to the 'niacinamide' (just a guess). I'll write more about the information I found in the tips section below. ☞ Niacinamide content above 2% can help with brightening, but pregnant women should be cautious. The percentage of niacinamide in this product isn't specified. If it could have adverse effects, it would be nice to have a clear warning on the packaging. (In bold, easily noticeable text.) I personally think these small details create a positive image for cosmetic brands and their products. + It was fine for the first few days, but 2-3 days ago, my left cheek started itching and I seem to be getting small bumps all over my face. Those with sensitive skin might want to avoid this... The ingredients are good, but it seems my skin just doesn't agree with this product... It's a shame, as this functional product is something I'd like to use long-term if it suited my skin. ★Niacinamide ☞ 1. Refers to water-soluble vitamin B3, which exists in two forms: niacin and its derivative, niacinamide. It's used as a food additive, and in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals for acne improvement, skin hydration, anti-aging, and treating rosacea. 2. In cosmetics, it's used from 0.001% to 5%, with 2% or more qualifying for brightening certification, up to a maximum of 5%. 3. The brightening principle of niacinamide is to inhibit the movement of produced pigments to the skin surface, essentially preventing melanin transfer to maintain clear skin. (Simply put, when our skin produces melanin cells, they typically transfer to the outermost layer. Niacinamide works by reducing this melanin transfer, thus inhibiting increased pigmentation on the skin surface) 4. It's also effective for hydration by increasing ceramides that prevent skin loss, and has anti-inflammatory effects good for acne. It also promotes collagen secretion for improved elasticity, and stimulates microcirculation, increasing blood flow, which is why it's used in anti-hair loss shampoos. ☞ However, pregnant or nursing mothers should avoid it. Niacinamide has a small molecular weight, so it can be transferred to the fetus quickly and in large amounts. ☞ While sunscreen blocks UV rays that produce melanin, brightening cosmetics inhibit the pigmentation of already produced melanin. They don't actually break down existing melanin to whiten the skin, as commonly thought. Professor Kim Eun-gi of Inha University's Department of Biological Engineering and Chemistry says, 'Developing a substance that selectively destroys only the polymer melanin is realistically difficult,' 'Brightening effects can be achieved by removing skin cells with melanin and regenerating new skin cells.' Therefore, sunscreen that blocks UV rays at the earliest stage is most effective. ☞ When using high-concentration niacinamide products, you may feel a warming sensation. This can be due to niacinamide's blood vessel dilating effect, or possibly due to residual niacin from the synthesis process. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinApr 3, 2018
Here's a review from The Hwahae Testers: Pros: 1. Gentle ingredients: It contains only very mild ingredients, so you can apply it generously without worrying about the formulation. Even with my super sensitive skin, I didn't experience any redness or blemishes at all! 2. Absorbs well: Unlike typical creams, it absorbs very quickly. There's hardly any stickiness, and even when reapplied, it absorbs immediately, which I loved. 3. Hydration: With its translucent gel-cream texture, it definitely provides a high level of moisture. 4. Spatula and mirror: They thoughtfully included a spatula for hygienic application and a cute mirror. I wish the mirror made the face appear a bit brighter though. The mirror surface is close to gray, making it difficult to properly check skin condition. 5. Great for summer or oily skin types: Despite its fresh feel, it's quite moisturizing, perfect for when rich creams feel too heavy! 6. Gives a glow: Even with its light texture, it leaves the skin with a beautiful glow!!! 7. Fragrance-free: This might be hit or miss for some. It's not completely scentless, there's a slight natural cosmetic ingredient scent when applying. Unless you're very sensitive, you'll perceive it as fragrance-free. After application, it's completely scentless. Cons: 1. Initial tingling sensation: When I first applied it, there was a slight tingling. My skin condition was normal, but it felt a bit sensitive. The tingling didn't last long though, it disappeared as the product absorbed and didn't cause any redness. After 3 days of use, even this initial tingling sensation went away. 2. Heavy container: I wish the cream jar was a bit lighter. Overall impression + Usage tips: This product might not be sufficient for those with dry skin to maintain moisture all day long. If you need to be active all day, applying this before makeup might lead to tightness in the afternoon. Instead, it's great for days when you want to minimize your skincare routine or when you need something light after using a sheet mask and don't want to apply a rich cream! I always use this cream as a finishing step after a sheet mask. It gives a fresh finish with a beautiful glow!!! It's very useful when you want to apply lots of serum or essence, cut down on oils, but still need a cream to finish off your routine. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinApr 3, 2018
It's gentle and not heavy at all. Usually, when I use heavy creams, my skin gets super oily, but this one maintains the moisture from previous skincare steps while adding more hydration. It's moisturizing and creates a protective layer, yet feels incredibly light (it's amazing!). The texture is almost like an essence, similar to mixing a cream with a mist - it applies with a watery feel. This is truly a versatile cream you can use all year round, regardless of the season. Also, they thoughtfully include a little spoon for hygienic application. While I don't use it often, I appreciate the consideration - it's a nice touch! The product doesn't have a firm texture. Because of this, I wish it came in an emulsion or essence bottle rather than the current cream container, which isn't very hygienic or convenient. Additionally, I didn't notice at first, but as I continued using it, I experienced a burning sensation and tingling around my nose and mouth areas when applying. It didn't cause any visible reactions, but I wonder if there might be an ingredient that doesn't agree with my skin. This is a product you can use without any special expectations or thoughts. I had a bad reaction to a vitamin product, so I just used this one exclusively for a few days. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinApr 2, 2018
Here's a review from The Hwahae Testers: As promised, it really reduced the rich feeling on my skin and felt refreshing. I have combination oily skin, and even with matte makeup, my face would quickly become shiny. But after using the Chayote moisturizer, the shininess has noticeably decreased! My previous moisturizer came in a tube, which was hygienic, but product would dry up around the opening, making it less sanitary in a way. The container for this moisturizer doesn't seem to make much difference... The Chayote cream doesn't feel rich like typical creams, it's more like a gel texture. It's a great product for those with oily skin like mine. (Though I'm not extremely oily) The disappointing part was that it stung my face quite a bit. For a product that emphasizes being gentle, I was surprised by how much it irritated my skin. The first day I used it happened to be when my skin was feeling sensitive, so I thought it might be my skin's fault. But it stung so much that I became hesitant to use it. I tend to have some redness on my cheeks, and this seemed to increase it... The skin on my cheeks and around my cheekbones gets particularly irritated. While it feels refreshing and nice otherwise, I wish they could reduce the irritation. Good for oily skin! Not recommended if you have sensitive skin and are looking for a gentle product - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinApr 2, 2018
Here's a review from The Hwahae Testers! - The cream's texture feels like a moisturizing velvet! It applies with a soft, powdery finish while seeming to release the hydration it holds. - The product description mentioned brightening effects due to vitamin content, and I really think it's true! - I wasn't familiar with chayote, so I looked it up. It turns out it has fatigue-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties! I'm not sure if these effects are only when consumed or if they benefit the skin too, but it seems to have anti-inflammatory effects! I would apply this moisturizer as the last step of my nighttime skincare routine, or sometimes just use this alone when I felt lazy. I have combination dehydrated skin and tend to get blemishes even without doing anything special, but the frequency definitely decreased! I also noticed that when I applied it to areas with blemishes, they seemed to heal faster! - The powdery finish makes it great for those with oily skin! - Another interesting fact about chayote is that it has cooling properties! Not sure if this applies to topical use, but even when stored at room temperature, applying this cream gives a cooling sensation similar to using a cooling cream! - In contrast to the last point in the pros, it doesn't keep dry skin moisturized until morning if applied at night. - The fragrance-free aspect is both a pro and a con, but leans slightly more towards being a con. - When first applying, it stung and caused a burning sensation. Many other reviews mentioned the stinging too, not sure why this happens... If it's part of the process that leads to the anti-inflammatory effect, then I'll gratefully accept the discomfort. - There's no handle on the inner lid, so you have to use your nails to remove it from the container, which is a bit inconvenient. - As someone with oily skin, applying rich creams at night can be disastrous by morning, but this cream didn't cause that issue! If you have oily skin, I recommend trying this at night! For a fresh, matte face the next day! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 1, 2018
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers :) I've been using this product for 10 days now^^ For an accurate assessment, I used only this product after cleansing, without any other skincare items for 10 days. (I usually only apply one cream and an eye cream anyway) First, let me briefly describe my skin type: 1. Combination dehydrated skin 2. Thin skin (due to Fraxel side effects). 1. ⭐️It absorbs quickly. Because I have combination dehydrated skin, if a cream doesn't absorb well and just sits on top, I'll get blemishes 90% of the time, and my skin becomes an oil slick. However, I can't use lightweight soothing gel-type products as they're too light for me (they make my skin too dry). This product has a texture between a gel and a cream. It absorbs much faster than a cream - just pat it in and it's quickly absorbed. This is very convenient when I'm tired after work and just want to cleanse and go to bed (quick absorption means quick sleep). Importantly, there's no excess product sitting on my skin, so I don't get any blemishes (which is impressive considering I'm about a week away from my period). 2. ⭐️No oiliness when I wake up! By 'no oiliness', I mean there's no insufficient sebum production. Those with oily skin will understand - that suffocating oiliness when you wake up... But since using this product, from day one, there hasn't been an oil explosion. Yet it doesn't leave my skin dry either. Since discovering the Chayote Cream, I'm very satisfied that there's no major oil slick when I wake up. 3. Light texture (good for daily use, not just as a night cream) Even with combination dehydrated skin, the area around my mouth is sensitive and combination. Only cream-type lip balms can keep the dryness at bay, and if I only apply a light emulsion before makeup, this area inevitably looks patchy ㅠㅠ. So I tried applying a bit of this as an alternative before makeup, and because it absorbs quickly and is lightweight despite being a cream, my makeup doesn't pill or slide off. 1. Stinging around the mouth When cleansing, I use a Clarisonic every 2-3 days for exfoliation and deep cleansing. After using the Clarisonic, if I apply the Chayote Cream around my mouth, it stings... I think this was mentioned in some previous reviews too... However, it usually subsides after a few minutes, and there's no redness or rash apart from the stinging, so I continue to use it. When the area around my mouth is extremely dry... applying this stings a lot..ㅠㅠ This also subsides after a few minutes, so I keep using it.. But I think this aspect needs improvement when the product is renewed. I think those with dry skin might find it too light, while those with combination skin could use it in summer. However, since this product is targeted at oily skin (especially combination dehydrated), I won't list this as a con. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 31, 2018
Absorption: It's incredibly smooth. At first, I thought it was oil, but it turned out to be hydration. I love that it's not sticky after application. Moisture level: It's quite high. The texture feels a bit heavy, but it's not due to oil - it's because of the moisture content. I felt my skin was hydrated until I fell asleep. Scent: Fragrance-free - A little goes a long way, so it lasts a long time. - Recommended for: Oily and dry skin types. It's great for oily skin because it balances oil and moisture, helping with excess sebum. For dry skin, it provides the much-needed hydration. - For the first two days of use, I woke up with almost no sebum production. However, as my skin adapted, I noticed a slight increase in oil. Still, it's less oily compared to other products. - Skin reaction: I judge products based on whether they cause skin issues (since I have sensitive skin that reacts quickly). After application, I didn't experience any acne breakouts or redness. Instead, it helped combat dryness, which was great. There's a slight tingling sensation after use, but it's not severe. The green part of the lid seems to peel off easily. If it gets into the product... The overall quality of the container could be improved.
