This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! My skin type: combination dehydrated, super sensitive skin. The texture is balm-like (similar to Vaseline). It applies smoothly and melts with body heat, absorbing well and feeling like it's locking everything in. Not sticky at all! The scent wasn't bothersome. Moisturizing power: When applied as the final step in my evening skincare routine, my skin wasn't dry in the morning. It works great on dry areas like heels and elbows too! Perfect for the dry transitional weather. The ingredients are good - I didn't experience any blemishes, which is fantastic! Those with oily skin might wake up to an oil slick if they use this alone at night. Not recommended for very oily skin types. Even for combination dehydrated skin, it's not suitable for morning use. When I applied it in the morning, my skin produced more oil than usual (it became quite shiny). It also made my makeup look a bit patchy! I think it's best used as part of your evening skincare routine. Apply your hydrating skincare products first, then use a small amount of this cream at the end to lock in the moisture. I don't recommend using it in the morning for oily or combination dehydrated skin types. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 17, 2022
Even with a small amount, you can feel the exceptional hydration, and the product feels incredibly gentle! It melts softly at body temperature, absorbs well, and despite my extremely dry skin during the changing seasons, this product prevents deep dryness. When I wake up, my skin feels firm and supple. The hydration seems to last long - even when I go out after applying it, I don't feel dry quickly. It also works well when mixed with other products. I appreciated that it comes with a spatula for hygienic application! As someone sensitive to fragrances, I'm glad this product is unscented. After application, it leaves a thick, rich residue on your palms. Also, the price point is a bit on the higher side... When my skin was really dry, I applied this product before bed. On regular days, I mixed it with my usual cream. - Hwahae UserOily SkinOct 17, 2022
First off, I have combination dehydrated skin! In fall and winter, it gets so dry it's painful - I have oily skin that's severely lacking in moisture. My skin is also super sensitive and prone to blemishes! I was really curious about this horse oil cream, so I was thrilled to be selected as a Hwahae Tester and try it out! Even a small amount helps combat dryness effectively. In autumn, my face often feels tight even after using a sheet mask, but with this horse oil cream, I felt it really locked in the moisture! Of course, since it's a balm with a rich texture, using too much can make your skin feel greasy. But if you experiment to find the right amount, I think it could be really helpful for dry skin during seasonal changes and winter. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I apply it in small amounts to avoid excess oiliness. When used in moderation, it didn't cause any new inflammatory acne! While I haven't used it for very long, I didn't experience any new breakouts on the days I did use it. I think I'd need to use it for a longer period to see if it has a calming effect on existing small bumps. It's fragrance-free! I also really liked the retro-style packaging. + After posting this review, I used it for a few more days and wow, it really works wonders on those small bumps! I've been stressed about the ones on my forehead that appeared after the season changed and wouldn't go away, but now they've completely subsided. The calming effect is amazing... It seems to work really well when applied to dry areas! Lately, my skin has been so dry that even when I use my usual lightweight skincare products and serum, my makeup sometimes looks patchy. But when I apply a thin layer of this product before makeup, my skin feels firm and the makeup goes on beautifully! While it does come with a built-in spatula, personally, I find tube packaging easier to manage, so I think it would be great if it came in a tube form as well! You can easily apply too much due to its rich texture, so it's best to start with less than you think you need, apply it to your face, and then melt it in. This helps with controlling the amount. As someone who regularly gets a couple of inflammatory acne spots, I apply acne patches to those areas and avoid applying the cream there. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinOct 15, 2022
As the season changed, my face and body became very dry, so I used the Toad Cream hoping it would solve my skin's dryness. It's fragrance-free, but there's a slight, barely noticeable oily scent. It's not overpowering at all. The cream is colorless and clean, without any artificial feel. I trust it because it doesn't contain fragrances, preservatives, or any concerning ingredients. I had high expectations since toad cream is said to be good for deep dryness and thin skin. On the first day, I applied a generous amount after my regular base. The next day, my face felt incredibly hydrated! It felt like my skin was deeply nourished and plump. I didn't want to wash my face because it felt so moisturized. On the second day, I used it the same way. From the third day, I tried mixing it with other creams. Oh, this worked well too! It's great to mix with creams that have different functions. It also moisturized dry areas like my elbows. Overall, this Toad Cream left my skin feeling satisfied the next day. First, as the name suggests, it can feel heavy due to its rich texture. It might be too much for some people. I only apply it generously at night. Otherwise, I use it on dry areas of my body like elbows. While you can apply it liberally at night without worry, during dry days, I found that mixing a tiny amount with my regular cream works well. This way, you avoid the heaviness typical of toad cream but still get that hydrated feeling. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinOct 13, 2022
Hydration power As expected, the moisturizing effect is top-notch! It seems to tackle even deep dryness! Soothing properties The blemishes that were red and inflamed have disappeared! I'm truly satisfied with this aspect. Skin irritation While using this, I noticed a few cystic acne spots popping up in areas where I usually don't get them... I had to quickly calm my skin with a soothing product and extract a few of the pimples that appeared. It seems like this product might be prone to causing blemishes, which is really disappointing. Uncomfortable slippery texture I could overlook other issues, but this slippery finish... I absolutely hate it! My hair keeps sticking to my face, and it ends up getting all messy. It's a product you can only apply before going to sleep. The product description suggests frequent application throughout the day, but how can anyone apply this texture all day long? It feels like your skin can't breathe. It's not exactly a pro tip, but because I dislike the texture, I only apply it at night before bed. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinOct 12, 2022
• Hydration, texture, and scent: The texture is incredibly smooth when applied. Whether mixed with cream or used alone, it's not sticky at all. This is a major advantage. Despite its excellent moisture retention, it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. When used alone, it does give a slight sheen as it's an oil. The scent is almost non-existent, which is great! • No blemishes: I've been using it for 5 days straight - in the morning on dry areas after applying cream, and in the evening all over my face after cream application. I haven't experienced any blemishes at all. It's also excellent at combating dryness. • Will repurchase! If it maintains the same effectiveness after a month of use, I'd love to keep using it. When I apply it generously on my lips and around my eyes before bed, my skin stays hydrated until morning. As it's an oil in cream form, it can leave a bit of shine here and there after application. That's somewhat unavoidable. I've been decanting it into a small cream container to carry around. I apply it to my lips and around my eyes, and it's fantastic. No need for a separate lip balm! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 16, 2022
I've been struggling with mask-related blemishes lately. Even though I have dry skin, I've been getting these tiny bumps - it's so frustrating! My super sensitive skin flares up without fail if I drink alcohol or neglect my dead skin cell care. To calm my skin's heat, I often use cooling masks. After my basic skincare routine (toner-essence-moisturizer), I melt some horse oil cream in my hands and pat it on my cheeks. The next morning, my skin feels soft and hydrated instead of dry. Highly recommended for extremely dry skin! If you have severe redness on your cheeks due to lack of hydration and oil (I get those tiny bumps for this reason even with dry skin), make sure to apply this at night! It takes some time to absorb if you apply it before makeup. It might not suit those with combination or oily skin. I tend to use a smaller amount in the morning, but at night, I melt a generous amount and let it absorb into my cheeks. Horse oil cream works wonders on rough skin on hands and feet too. After exfoliating your feet, apply it and it works just as well as petroleum jelly. While some might hesitate to use products with petroleum, I've been using horse oil cream as a great alternative.
