I thought the cosmetic scent might be off-putting, but it was surprisingly pleasant. It's incredibly soft and melts into your skin instantly upon contact. I usually wake up with puffy skin and noticeable smile lines, but after applying this before bed, miraculously, no wrinkles appeared... it's a holy grail product! I've only been using it for a week, but the effects are immediate, so I'll definitely keep using it consistently! Perhaps due to its oily nature, when you open the lid, the spatula tends to slip or fall off frequently. If you focus on hydration in your skincare routine and finish with this horse oil cream, you'll feel like the moisture is locked in for longer! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! My skin type: combination dehydrated, super sensitive skin. The texture is balm-like (similar to Vaseline). It applies smoothly and melts with body heat, absorbing well and feeling like it's locking everything in. Not sticky at all! The scent wasn't bothersome. Moisturizing power: When applied as the final step in my evening skincare routine, my skin wasn't dry in the morning. It works great on dry areas like heels and elbows too! Perfect for the dry transitional weather. The ingredients are good - I didn't experience any blemishes, which is fantastic! Those with oily skin might wake up to an oil slick if they use this alone at night. Not recommended for very oily skin types. Even for combination dehydrated skin, it's not suitable for morning use. When I applied it in the morning, my skin produced more oil than usual (it became quite shiny). It also made my makeup look a bit patchy! I think it's best used as part of your evening skincare routine. Apply your hydrating skincare products first, then use a small amount of this cream at the end to lock in the moisture. I don't recommend using it in the morning for oily or combination dehydrated skin types. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
* Scent The fragrance might be a matter of personal preference, but I found it quite pleasant! It has a bone broth-like scent that you'll notice every time you use it! * Hydration Firstly, it seems to create a barrier that prevents moisture loss! As I have oily skin, I mainly applied it in the evenings. Even during this transitional season with dry weather, I could feel that my skin wasn't tight and remained moisturized when I woke up. * Blemishes While I've seen many reviews from people with oily skin saying they didn't experience any breakouts, I had to stop using it temporarily as it didn't seem to agree with my skin, causing small bumps and pustules. * Amount control I think my blemishes might have been caused by using too much product. When applied sparingly, it feels moisturizing without being greasy, but using too much makes the skin overly shiny and doesn't suit my complexion. * Price I didn't see the expected results, and the quantity is disappointingly small for the price. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
Application (5/5): The texture and feel are similar to Vaseline, but I liked how it applies more lightly and smoothly than Vaseline. Absorption (4/5): For a heavy formula, it absorbs quite well. Packaging (4/5): I appreciated the included spatula for hygienic application, and it was satisfying to see how the packaging design considered cleanliness in cosmetic use. Moisturizing power (3/5): Despite being an all-in-one cream, when used alone, I felt some deep dryness as someone with dry skin. When used with other products, it provided instant hydration, but I still felt dry when waking up in the morning. When used together with a face oil, the moisturizing power doubles, allowing you to maintain hydrated skin without any deep dryness until morning. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
The scent was my biggest concern, but it wasn't unpleasant or bad at all. It absorbed more smoothly than I expected. Also, it didn't cause any blemishes. I appreciated the hygienic aspect of having a separate applicator to scoop out the cream. I could definitely feel the hydrating effects. I couldn't really tell a significant difference from Vaseline. If anything, it felt a bit thicker. Unfortunately, I didn't notice a clear improvement in deep dryness. It's important to control the amount you use. It was more oily than I expected, which made my skin feel a bit suffocated. I'd recommend mixing it with your regular moisturizer. Also, I'd suggest using it generously at night rather than in the morning when you want a richer application. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
Design: The red container really stands out on my vanity! It's easy to spot, which I love. Scent: I'm sensitive to fragrances and even mild scents can give me headaches, so I'm thrilled this is unscented! Texture: It's similar to products like Vaseline or Popo Cream. It's soft and melts nicely with body heat, absorbing without any stickiness. How well it absorbs might vary from person to person, so be sure to adjust the amount you use! Hydration and richness: As someone with combination dehydrated skin that leans oily, I was worried it might be too greasy, but it exceeded my expectations! When I apply it to areas needing moisture before bed, the hydration lasts until the next day! Those with oily skin might find it a bit rich, so controlling the amount is key. This product is great for use without worrying about blemishes! I wish they'd release a larger size... haha. If you have oily skin, it's absolutely essential to control how much you use!!! I mix a small amount with my body emulsion after showering, and it makes the emulsion's moisturizing effect and scent last much longer! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
I've tried horse oil cream from Japan before, but I remember it being sticky and needing to be melted before application, which was a bit of a hassle. The Toad Horse Oil Cream, however, is different: 1. First impression was great - no fishy smell, just a clean, fragrance-free formula. 2. The texture seems thick at first, but it melts like sorbet when applied to the skin. It's not burdensome to apply at all. 3. The hydration is deep. I usually use a lot of cream and oil because I hate waking up with dry skin, but with this horse oil cream alone, I could feel the moisturizing effect lasting until morning. I'm not sure if it's due to my skin condition, the changing seasons, or the horse oil cream itself, but I suddenly experienced a lot of blemishes. So I've been avoiding using it for the past few days. Since the timing coincided with starting this cream, I'll wait for my skin to calm down before trying it again. For now, I'm only using small amounts on areas that easily dry out, like around the eyes. I apply small amounts frequently around my lips, eyes, and other areas with less sebum production. It's also good for cuticles - it softens them without feeling too slippery. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
I have dry skin! This review is based on 7 days of use after receiving the product in early October. Routine: Hyaluronic acid toner with a runny texture > Propolis or Noni ampoule depending on skin condition > Collagen emulsion / Oil for makeup removal Scent: A subtle, pleasant milky aroma! Texture: A rich cream. It feels like an ointment packed into a cream jar! Application: The application is absolutely fantastic. It melts into the skin smoothly and absorbs really well. Absorption: It absorbs quickly. For the first 2-3 days, I applied way too much, but it still absorbed well. The right amount for me is about the size of a bean... With this amount, it's not sticky at all. Blemishes: No blemishes appeared at all (even when I applied a lot), and it even calmed down some small ones that were starting to show. Preventing moisture loss: It works really well! However, it seems to prevent moisture loss rather than adding hydration. Make sure to properly hydrate your skin before applying this. The price... I didn't realize it was so steep! It's tricky to control the amount. It's better to apply it in small layers. Since it's a balm type, if dust gets in, it could be a mess... I also tried it on my body, especially on my calves that get dry and cracked, and on my abdomen that gets itchy when dry. It works amazingly well there too! - Hwahae UserDry SkinOct 16, 2022
I was amazed when I first applied it in the evening and woke up the next morning. My skin felt incredibly firm and radiant, as if it had been regenerated overnight! Being quite sensitive to fragrances, I really appreciated that this product is unscented. I also loved its Vaseline-like texture - a little goes a long way, allowing you to easily spread it across your entire face. I'm not sure if it's because of this product, but I suddenly developed a lot of blemishes that I've never had before. However, my mom, who tried it with me, says there's no better cream than this one, so it seems the effects can really vary from person to person. When I saw the price, I was a bit shocked. Still, I think for those who find horse oil creams effective, it might be worth the splurge! I found it works great when mixed with a thicker foundation - it prevents caking and looks fantastic. Also, after applying it to my face, I used the leftover cream on my fingertips to moisturize my cuticles, which left them feeling wonderfully hydrated. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 16, 2022
1. The texture is similar to coconut oil. It looks solid but melts effortlessly upon contact with body heat. This means a little goes a long way for full face coverage. 2. When applied before bed, you wake up to smoother skin in the morning. 3. The ingredients are gentle and skin-friendly. 4. It's great that there's no particular scent. While there aren't any major drawbacks, the rich texture might not be suitable for those with oily skin types.
