Buying this at Jeju duty-free is an absolute steal (buy one, get one free)! It works wonders on painful acne and stubborn blemishes. I run an aesthetic clinic, and I've never seen anything that calms inflammation this quickly. Apply it to painful acne, and the discomfort noticeably reduces by the next day. Even large, hard pimples visibly shrink overnight. This is my go-to product that I always stock up on before running out. I usually buy at least four at a time. It's not just great for acne - it's versatile enough for various skin concerns. It's basically pure oil. Just oil, plain and simple! Of course, being a horse oil cream, it's bound to be oily. If you dislike that greasy feeling, you might not be a fan. But when you see how quickly it works, that minor inconvenience becomes insignificant, doesn't it? Here's a pro tip: For best results, apply the Toad Cream before your toner, then follow with your usual skincare routine. I used to avoid applying other products over the areas where I'd used the Toad Cream, but it doesn't really matter if you layer on top. This method seemed to enhance its effectiveness for me, though it could be just a placebo effect or environmental factors. Still, I found this approach worked better! - Hwahae UserDry SkinNov 28, 2022
The solid ointment texture is so effective that even a thin layer provides significant hydration. Recently, my skin has become extremely dry, with itchy areas increasing on my legs and arms. Applying this to those areas really helps reduce the itching. It seems to be an excellent product for extremely dry skin. Perhaps due to its rich oil content, when I apply this cream, it makes my eyes feel a bit heavy and blurry. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 18, 2022
➕ Instantly effective on very dry areas. My feet are usually quite dry, so I applied it to my soles, wrapped them for an hour, and they became incredibly soft. ➕ Nearly fragrance-free. Despite 'horse oil' potentially sounding off-putting, it surprisingly has no scent at all. ➕ Easy to use. Reminds me a lot of Vaseline. The container is convenient, and the product melts quickly with body heat, making it easy to spread. ➕ Prevents moisture loss. Rather than directly hydrating the skin, it excels at locking in the moisture underneath, keeping it from evaporating. ➖ Very greasy. Feels like solidified oil? This might be a love-it-or-hate-it aspect, but personally, I worried it might cause breakouts. ➖ No standout features. With so many great products available these days, I struggled to find a compelling reason to purchase this one. ➖ As mentioned earlier, this product alone can't provide hydration. You need another product to add moisture. This one just seals it in. ➖ While the packaging is functional, the design is... well, it's the company's signature, but it doesn't really inspire a desire to buy. - Hwahae UserDry SkinOct 17, 2022
As the weather got colder, I felt my skin getting dry and sticky after using my usual cream. I was looking for a new one when I won this product, and I'm really satisfied with its moisturizing power and finish. The texture is more like a balm than a cream, reminiscent of Vaseline. I was worried it might be too thick, but it melts with body heat and applies smoothly like an oil, making it easy to spread. The case looks small, but when you use the included spatula to gently scoop out the product, you realize there's actually quite a lot for the amount you need to use. At night after cleansing, I apply it generously. At first, it seems a bit greasy and takes some time to absorb, but once it does, there's no dryness at all until morning. I might be imagining it, but my skin feels softer when I cleanse in the morning. When you first apply the balm and really focus on the scent, there's a slight milk-like smell. But as you spread it, the scent disappears, and it's practically fragrance-free. Since it's a rich product, you need to be careful with the amount you apply before makeup. While it worked well for me, those with sensitive skin might experience blemishes. - Hwahae UserDry SkinOct 17, 2022
After using it for two weeks, morning and night: At first, you might find the texture quite firm, but if you warm it up slightly with your body heat on the back of your hand, it applies beautifully. It's great for dry skin - it gives such a glow that you can just use this and a brightening moisturizer, and your skin looks amazing! When I apply it at night, there's no dryness at all by morning, making it a must-have for those with dry skin as the weather gets colder and your face feels tighter. (The red packaging and cream texture reminded me of that famous Australian cream - it has a similar feel to it.) Using it as a standalone product might feel a bit heavy on the face. If you don't get the amount right, it can make your skin look a bit too rich. Those with oily skin should be careful, as it might make your skin look overly shiny! Since I have a hydrating cream I've been using recently, I mix them: At night, I use a 2:1 ratio of hydrating cream to Horse Fat cream, and in the morning, a 3:1 ratio. This reduces the richness while boosting hydration, giving a lighter feel overall! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinOct 17, 2022
- I appreciated the included spoon for scooping. - Loved that it's unscented! - The packaging design leaves much to be desired... - There was way too much oil residue left on my skin, which I didn't like at all. - The next morning, my face was extremely greasy... so disappointing - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 17, 2022
Even with a small amount, you can feel the exceptional hydration, and the product feels incredibly gentle! It melts softly at body temperature, absorbs well, and despite my extremely dry skin during the changing seasons, this product prevents deep dryness. When I wake up, my skin feels firm and supple. The hydration seems to last long - even when I go out after applying it, I don't feel dry quickly. It also works well when mixed with other products. I appreciated that it comes with a spatula for hygienic application! As someone sensitive to fragrances, I'm glad this product is unscented. After application, it leaves a thick, rich residue on your palms. Also, the price point is a bit on the higher side... When my skin was really dry, I applied this product before bed. On regular days, I mixed it with my usual cream. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinOct 17, 2022
My skin type: Dry, acne-prone Pros: Despite seeming unsuitable for acne-prone skin, it actually helps reduce blemishes significantly! Plus, for dry skin, the hydration is no joke. It's even great on lips! It also has a soothing effect. In the morning, my skin feels smooth and supple! Cons: Initially, it feels a bit unpleasant when applied. Even though I have dry skin, it feels excessively oily, making my face look greasy and my hair at the sides gets oily too... It's quite uncomfortable. Not recommended for oily skin types. Also, it causes a tingling sensation in the eyes... The oily texture easily gets into the eyes, making them feel dry. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
I was lucky enough to be selected as one of The Hwahae Testers and got to try this product. My skin is extremely oily in the T-zone, while the U-zone is so dry it feels tight and uncomfortable. I've been struggling with dermatitis from last August to this August, so I'm extremely cautious about skincare products. As you can see in the picture, it has a solid, Vaseline-like texture, but it applies incredibly smoothly on the skin. It transforms into a soft, oil-like consistency without becoming runny. At first, I was worried the rich texture might cause blemishes, but fortunately, I didn't experience any. Surprisingly, when I had the occasional pimple, applying this cream before bed would help reduce it by morning. Unlike lighter creams that sometimes left my skin feeling tight after sleeping, this one never did. It feels like it creates a protective barrier that locks in deep hydration. I think it would be perfect for dry winter months. The cream is quite rich, which can lead to a slightly greasy appearance. If applied before makeup, the oiliness might cause your makeup to slide. While it's great for dry seasons, it might feel a bit heavy during summer. For best results in combating deep dryness, apply this cream after thoroughly hydrating your skin with a watery essence or toner. It creates a perfect moisture barrier. Amazingly, it can help reduce small pimples overnight. While it might not be ideal under makeup due to its richness, mixing a tiny amount with your foundation can give you a natural glow and make your skin look beautifully hydrated. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
I tried horse oil for the first time, and it's a white, opaque solid oil that feels similar to coconut oil when you scoop and apply it. I tested it on my hands, face, and my driest area - my calves. It provides both hydration and richness, making my skin feel incredibly moisturized and instantly relieving any tightness. While it's great for autumn, I can imagine it being a real lifesaver in winter. It seems like the perfect match for dry skin types. As someone with combination and super sensitive skin, I didn't experience any irritation or excess oiliness, so I used it comfortably like a cream. The moisturizing effect, balancing both oil and hydration, really lives up to the horse oil hype. Honestly, among all oil-based moisturizers, this stands out as probably the highest quality natural ingredient. Being 100% pure horse oil speaks for itself. Yes, it's pricey, but I believe it's worth the investment. For me, it's definitely on my winter repurchase list. If bio-oil is about value for money, horse oil is the premium choice. I felt it was worth splurging on. While the product itself is fantastic, I docked one star due to some inconveniences. Applying this in the morning leaves a slippery, oily residue that makes it challenging to apply makeup. When used at night, be prepared for some oil transfer onto your pillowcase. Although it feels like it absorbs, the oily film seems to linger, transferring onto everything. Your hands feel slick, and even when applied to legs, it ends up on your pajamas. The absorption could be better. However, I suppose this is characteristic of natural creams. I'll compensate by using dark pajamas and towels. As mentioned, using dark pajamas and towels can help manage the transfer issue, and focusing on intensive moisturization during winter nights will likely result in super soft skin. You can really feel the power of this natural product. It works wonders on rough elbows and knees. For those struggling with extremely dry, cracking skin on their lower body in winter, where other oils or emulsions haven't helped, horse oil might be the ultimate solution. Its moisturizing power feels incredibly potent. I've used bio-oil too, but horse oil seems superior. While it's not exactly the same price point, it's definitely worth the splurge. If you find it too slippery, I recommend mixing it with other products. Blend it with your regular moisturizer, similar to how you might use jojoba oil, to improve the texture and reduce the slickness.
