As the weather got colder, I felt my skin getting dry and sticky after using my usual cream. I was looking for a new one when I won this product, and I'm really satisfied with its moisturizing power and finish. The texture is more like a balm than a cream, reminiscent of Vaseline. I was worried it might be too thick, but it melts with body heat and applies smoothly like an oil, making it easy to spread. The case looks small, but when you use the included spatula to gently scoop out the product, you realize there's actually quite a lot for the amount you need to use. At night after cleansing, I apply it generously. At first, it seems a bit greasy and takes some time to absorb, but once it does, there's no dryness at all until morning. I might be imagining it, but my skin feels softer when I cleanse in the morning. When you first apply the balm and really focus on the scent, there's a slight milk-like smell. But as you spread it, the scent disappears, and it's practically fragrance-free. Since it's a rich product, you need to be careful with the amount you apply before makeup. While it worked well for me, those with sensitive skin might experience blemishes. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
This is a review from The Hwahae Testers! My skin type: combination dehydrated, super sensitive skin. The texture is balm-like (similar to Vaseline). It applies smoothly and melts with body heat, absorbing well and feeling like it's locking everything in. Not sticky at all! The scent wasn't bothersome. Moisturizing power: When applied as the final step in my evening skincare routine, my skin wasn't dry in the morning. It works great on dry areas like heels and elbows too! Perfect for the dry transitional weather. The ingredients are good - I didn't experience any blemishes, which is fantastic! Those with oily skin might wake up to an oil slick if they use this alone at night. Not recommended for very oily skin types. Even for combination dehydrated skin, it's not suitable for morning use. When I applied it in the morning, my skin produced more oil than usual (it became quite shiny). It also made my makeup look a bit patchy! I think it's best used as part of your evening skincare routine. Apply your hydrating skincare products first, then use a small amount of this cream at the end to lock in the moisture. I don't recommend using it in the morning for oily or combination dehydrated skin types. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 17, 2022
Even with a small amount, you can feel the exceptional hydration, and the product feels incredibly gentle! It melts softly at body temperature, absorbs well, and despite my extremely dry skin during the changing seasons, this product prevents deep dryness. When I wake up, my skin feels firm and supple. The hydration seems to last long - even when I go out after applying it, I don't feel dry quickly. It also works well when mixed with other products. I appreciated that it comes with a spatula for hygienic application! As someone sensitive to fragrances, I'm glad this product is unscented. After application, it leaves a thick, rich residue on your palms. Also, the price point is a bit on the higher side... When my skin was really dry, I applied this product before bed. On regular days, I mixed it with my usual cream. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
Application (5/5): The texture and feel are similar to Vaseline, but I liked how it applies more lightly and smoothly than Vaseline. Absorption (4/5): For a heavy formula, it absorbs quite well. Packaging (4/5): I appreciated the included spatula for hygienic application, and it was satisfying to see how the packaging design considered cleanliness in cosmetic use. Moisturizing power (3/5): Despite being an all-in-one cream, when used alone, I felt some deep dryness as someone with dry skin. When used with other products, it provided instant hydration, but I still felt dry when waking up in the morning. When used together with a face oil, the moisturizing power doubles, allowing you to maintain hydrated skin without any deep dryness until morning. - Hwahae UserDry SkinOct 17, 2022
It absorbs into the skin so smoothly, the application is effortless. While it might be challenging to cover large areas at once, if you apply it patiently, letting it sink in, it seems like it could even stand up to the harshest winter. The included spatula and the inner lid are nicely designed. It provides excellent hydration when applied to elbows or heels. The inner lid tends to get slippery from the cream with use, so you might end up removing it altogether. The same goes for the spatula. The packaging might be hit or miss. The old-fashioned red container looks a bit dated. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
I have dry skin! This review is based on 7 days of use after receiving the product in early October. Routine: Hyaluronic acid toner with a runny texture > Propolis or Noni ampoule depending on skin condition > Collagen emulsion / Oil for makeup removal Scent: A subtle, pleasant milky aroma! Texture: A rich cream. It feels like an ointment packed into a cream jar! Application: The application is absolutely fantastic. It melts into the skin smoothly and absorbs really well. Absorption: It absorbs quickly. For the first 2-3 days, I applied way too much, but it still absorbed well. The right amount for me is about the size of a bean... With this amount, it's not sticky at all. Blemishes: No blemishes appeared at all (even when I applied a lot), and it even calmed down some small ones that were starting to show. Preventing moisture loss: It works really well! However, it seems to prevent moisture loss rather than adding hydration. Make sure to properly hydrate your skin before applying this. The price... I didn't realize it was so steep! It's tricky to control the amount. It's better to apply it in small layers. Since it's a balm type, if dust gets in, it could be a mess... I also tried it on my body, especially on my calves that get dry and cracked, and on my abdomen that gets itchy when dry. It works amazingly well there too! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinOct 17, 2022
The included spatula allows for hygienic application. While the texture is slightly heavier than other creams, it spreads smoothly like an oil, leaving a moisturizing film on the skin. It's perfect for extremely dry skin like mine that never seems to get enough hydration from other creams. What I love most is that it's made with a single ingredient - horse oil (EWG green grade) - which is great for sensitive skin. You need less of this cream compared to others to achieve sufficient hydration. There's nothing particularly disappointing about it. It should work well for dry skin types all year round. For those with oily skin, it might be best used during winter or the drier months of spring and fall. You can apply it as the final step in your skincare routine, or mix it with your emulsion or other skincare products for application. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinOct 16, 2022
Hydration: The moisturizing power is truly exceptional! The texture is similar to Vaseline, applying smoothly and keeping your skin hydrated until the next day! This would be perfect for those with dry skin. Fragrance: It's fragrance-free! Highly recommended for those who dislike scented products. I'm not a fan of sticky cosmetics, but despite its Vaseline-like texture, this cream doesn't feel sticky at all. It melts beautifully into the skin when applied! I was worried about potential blemishes, but fortunately, I didn't experience any breakouts! You really need to be careful with the amount you use. The first time I applied it without knowing, my face became extremely slippery and turned into an oil slick! Apply just a small amount to avoid excessive greasiness. While it's great for dry skin types, I wouldn't recommend it for those with oily skin. It doesn't absorb immediately into the skin. So when applying makeup, use an extremely small amount. I prefer to apply it before bed! When applied in moderation before sleeping, I found it absorbed well by morning. It also works great as a lip balm. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinOct 14, 2022
Surprisingly, it wasn't sticky at all and applied smoothly, which I really liked. The texture spreads easily, gliding on the skin. Being 100% horse oil cream, it felt completely different from regular creams. It's closer to an oil than a cream in texture. It moisturizes well and seems to absorb quickly too. You can hardly smell it unless you put your nose right up to it. With my oily, acne-prone skin, I was worried about using it from the start, and sure enough, it was too greasy for my skin. A few days after applying it, I developed blemishes. I'm still hesitant to use it regularly. It might be better suited for winter use or for those with dry skin. I applied it in the order of toner, cream, and then horse oil cream. Rather than using it alone, mixing it with another cream might make it less overwhelming for the skin. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinOct 14, 2022
Honest review from The Hwahae Testers on the Toad Oil Cream I'd heard that horse oil creams were great for skin regeneration, but the thought of horse oil... grease... made me imagine it would be oily, suffocating, and likely to clog pores and cause blemishes. That's why I always hesitated to use it. This time, I won the horse oil cream from The Hwahae Testers, so I gave it a try! I was surprised to find it wasn't as greasy as I expected, but rather soft and moisturizing. It applies smoothly and adheres well, just like a regular moisturizer. I actually felt it had just the right amount of oil content. The package instructions recommended using it directly without any other skincare, which made me skeptical since my skin gets very dry during seasonal changes. But to my surprise... it deeply quenched my skin's thirst in a way that was so satisfying! While I haven't used it long enough to comment on its skin regeneration properties, I definitely noticed my skin feeling smoother and firmer the next day. I think it's because it properly balances the moisture and oil levels in the skin! I'm hoping that with consistent use, it might help fade blemish scars... When I looked into repurchasing, I found the price to be quite burdensome. It's sad that the price is so high for the amount you get... Still, I think the high price is due to the quality ingredients and great performance, so I'll probably buy it again! And the packaging... wow! It's incredibly intense! I'm not just using it on my face, but also on dry areas of my body. I especially love using it on stretch marks. You really need to apply it sparingly! If you put on too much, it feels heavy and takes longer to absorb.
