It removes makeup so well, which I really love. And the ingredients are top-notch, no question about it. Perhaps because the ingredients are so gentle, it seems like the sun protection isn't quite up to par. While it's made with only good ingredients, it can't excel in both areas. However, I'm satisfied that it washes off easily with water. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinApr 16, 2021
The most appealing aspect is that it can be cleansed with water alone! It's impossible to avoid putting sunscreen on kids, and even though there are special cleansers for sunscreen, it was always a hassle to use them on children. But with this, just rubbing with water a few times leaves the skin clean and fresh. As my child has atopic dermatitis, I always prioritize checking ingredients. The inclusion of 'Magnolia Bark Extract' among its skin-friendly components is promising, as it's known to soothe sun-heated skin. Being a sun milk, it has a slightly fluid texture that applies smoothly, which I love. As it's a mineral sunscreen, there's no stinging sensation even when applied around the eyes. Compared to cream-type sun products, it feels lighter and less sticky when applied, leaving a fresh finish. The scent is nearly fragrance-free, making it non-irritating. My child is usually sensitive to fragrances, but has no aversion to this one. Since it washes off easily with water, you might need to reapply frequently for kids who sweat a lot in summer. It also might not be suitable for water activities. When it comes into contact with water, it leaves white streaks as it washes off. Adults should be careful when applying it. There is some white cast, which didn't bother me much, but it might be noticeable on darker skin tones. Due to the white cast, it tends to accumulate visibly around the sides of the nose. It's not as matte as sebum-controlling sun products and has a slight stickiness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinApr 16, 2021
- This is a review from The Hwahae Testers - My child has already gotten quite tanned from playing hard at the playground, so I was delighted to receive this sun milk through The Hwahae Testers program. - The texture is a milk type, slightly runny, and fragrance-free, making it non-irritating when applied to children's faces - It's water-washable, which makes it ideal for kids to use - A small amount covers a large area, making it perfect for use throughout the summer - The absorbs well, making it easy to apply on the body too - Contains skin-soothing ingredients, so it's comfortable for long outdoor wear While I knew it was a popular product and had previously tried their sun stick, I find this sun milk easier to use and it absorbs better than the stick version. Since it's a water-washable product, it may come off with sweat, so the staying power is a bit disappointing. Also, there's a slight white cast. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 15, 2021
The Hwahae Testers' Experience Review With summer here, sunscreen is a must for kids! I had the great opportunity to try the Botanical Therapy Sun Milk. I loved that it's fragrance-free with gentle ingredients. The fact that it can be removed with just a single cleanse is fantastic for children's skin. However, this is both a pro and a con... As a mineral sunscreen, there's a slight white cast, but since it's a sun milk, it has a lot of hydration, so it's not too noticeable. As I mentioned above, the easy removal with just one cleanse is both an advantage and a disadvantage. Kids tend to sweat a lot, so it wears off quickly. Also, I wish the SPF was around 50 instead of just 30, which is a bit disappointing. Since I need to reapply frequently, I pour a small amount into a travel-sized bottle - just enough for one outing - and reapply it on my child's face regularly when we're out. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinApr 12, 2021
As a member of The Hwahae Testers, I'm sharing my review after using this product. Since my child was born, I've been a super cautious mom, checking the ingredients of all cosmetics, wipes, and cleansers that touch my child's skin. I even used a fluorescent whitening agent detector on clothes before dressing my child! I was hesitant about using adult cleansing products on my child's face. So, except for outdoor swimming, I rarely applied sunscreen. But as my child grew and outdoor activities increased, I knew I couldn't avoid sunscreen forever. That's when I discovered this product that can be washed off with just water. - Ingredients: Naturally, they're great! I wouldn't have applied it to my child's face if there were any harmful components. - (See photos) To verify if it truly washes off with water alone, I tested it on my hand. The second photo shows water on the sunscreen-applied hand. See how it turns white? The third photo is after rubbing a few times. White water drips off. The last photo shows the hand after removing the sunscreen with water only. Clean, right? Passed! - There's a slight white cast, but it gives a bright, glowing finish. It's almost like that 'Inner Glow' look - just perfect! - It feels incredibly fresh. Not heavy due to oils, but pleasantly hydrating. I initially applied for The Hwahae Testers to use on my child, but I'm using it daily too. - It might seem trivial, but I love that you can stand the bottle up or down, allowing you to use every last drop cleanly. Although I received this for free as a tester, I'm so satisfied that I'll definitely keep using it. I wish the SPF was a bit higher. But maybe that's unavoidable for a gentle skin product? +Adding after a few more days of use: Because this product is so water-soluble, when my child cries, tear tracks are left behind. If there's a lot of sweat, the sunscreen might run with it... resulting in a patchy face... Children often get their faces or hands dirty during outdoor activities, and we often clean them with wipes. It would be inconvenient if the sunscreen washes off in these situations. However, since this is the purpose of the product, I plan to buy a sunstick to carry around and reapply as needed. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinApr 8, 2021
First off, the absorption is fantastic. It's not too thick or too runny - just right! It's easy to apply on kids, and the scent is almost fragrance-free, so it seems gentle. The best part? It's washable! It rinses off cleanly with just water and a bit of rubbing, making it perfect even for little ones who dislike soap or find cleansers irritating to their eyes. I always worried about sunscreen residue on my kids' skin, even after cleansing, but with this, that concern is gone. I've been using it on my two children (9 and 6 years old) for a few days and I'm satisfied. By the way, my sensitive eldest usually gets blemishes like small bumps when we use the wrong product, but we haven't seen any of that with this one. The washable feature, while a plus, can be a bit of a drawback when it comes to sweat. When the kids play and sweat a lot, the sunscreen tends to drip off in white streaks. If you avoid using it during the peak of summer when sweat is pouring, this could be your go-to for daily sun protection the rest of the year. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinMay 4, 2020
Since my daughter hasn't tried sunscreen yet, I tested it out for her. The texture is thicker than milk but thinner than cream - a nice in-between consistency. It's easy to apply! For a mineral sunscreen, there's hardly any white cast. At first, there might be a slight hint, but after blending it a few times, it's barely noticeable. As for the typical tightness associated with mineral sunscreens... while not completely absent, it's minimal compared to other mineral sunscreens I've tried (applied after my skincare routine of toner and essence). And the most intriguing part... can it be washed off with water? I applied it generously on my hand, let it sit with a slight white cast, and tried to remove it... and it really does come off! It washed away cleanly. However, to be honest, I still used a cleanser on my face as I felt more comfortable doing so. I didn't notice it much, but... inevitably, there might be some white residue when sweating in summer, since it's easily removed with water. For my daughter, who only sweats on her forehead and neck... we'll probably use this occasionally on days with extended outdoor activities. Lately, we've been staying home due to COVID, and wearing it all day indoors... it does get a bit greasy. It feels more like a surface shine rather than deep hydration. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMay 3, 2020
When applied to the face, it has a nice texture due to its hydrating formula and brightens the complexion. I noticed it has great staying power too. It's not sticky at all, just pleasantly moisturizing. I didn't experience any burning sensation around the eyes when applying it. While it's good that it washes off easily, it's a bit disappointing that the sunscreen might come off if your face gets wet when you're out. It's suitable for both children and adults to use together. I've found it particularly good for my sensitive skin after getting a toning treatment. Other brands' products for adults often cause itching or tingling if they contain harsh ingredients. This seems to work well for sensitive skin. I plan to keep using it along with my kids. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 3, 2020
I used to avoid applying sunscreen to my child due to the hassle of having to remove it. However, Botanical Therapy Sun Milk is perfect as a baby sunscreen because it easily washes off with just water. Its thin consistency makes it easy to apply on a child's face, and it feels light and fresh like a regular emulsion. Additionally, it contains chamomile flower extract, which helps soothe skin irritated by sun exposure, making it safe for children with sensitive skin. Compared to other sunscreens, it may not last as long. Since it washes off easily with water, it can also come off with sweat. However, like any sunscreen, it should be reapplied every 3-4 hours anyway. Just make sure to reapply frequently. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 27, 2020
When choosing a sun emulsion for kids, the most important factor is finding a gentle product that won't irritate their skin. The Botanical Therapy Baby Washable Sun Milk really delivered on that front. Its plant-based ingredients are kind to the skin, and it rinses off easily with water, so you don't have to scrub hard when washing - avoiding any unnecessary irritation. I loved how convenient it was to use, just like an emulsion. The texture is similar to an emulsion but with more hydration than thickness. It spreads thinly and evenly, without feeling heavy or suffocating. While it might feel slightly sticky at first, it soon settles into a pleasantly powdery finish. True to the product description, I could see the sun milk washing away with water. However, to ensure thorough cleansing, I still used a cleanser. Even so, it came off easily without any irritation or tightness. Overall, I'm satisfied with how it leaves the skin feeling fresh and clean after use. Given that it's a sun protection product, it's a bit disappointing that the SPF isn't higher than 45, which is recommended for effective summer sun protection. The relatively low UVB protection factor is a drawback. Plus, the fact that it washes off easily with water suggests it might also come off with sweat. This means you'll likely need to reapply frequently when outdoors. While it spreads well and has a nice powdery finish, there is a slight white cast. It's not too noticeable if you blend it in thoroughly, but it's something to keep in mind.
