It truly washes off easily with water. Since my baby is still young, it's essential to apply sunscreen in this weather, and I don't feel burdened doing so. Plus, it's great that I don't need a special remover - it comes off easily during shower time. There wasn't much white cast either, which was a concern since I'm applying it on my baby, but it wasn't a major issue. However, for moms, it might feel a bit too dry and lacks coverage. While it's not thick, it flows like water, which can be a downside. It keeps running into the eyes, especially when sweating. It's not particularly oily, but it does have some moisture. Still, it can lead to deep dryness. Easy removal is a plus, but it's disappointing that sweat washes it off too. It's okay for my younger child, but for older kids, it's a shame it washes off in this hot weather. I wouldn't recommend it for those with dry skin, but it might be good for those with super sensitive skin as it's gentle. The easy removal is a merit, but when I use it myself rather than on my baby, I mix it with BB Complex for a bit of coverage. This gives it a nice balance of richness and coverage. It might work well for adults looking for a gentle option, but if you need coverage, you might want to explore other methods. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 28, 2020
I was curious about this product and applied to be a Hwahae Tester, but I didn't get selected. So, I bought it with my own money and here's my review. I'll focus on the drawbacks, so those considering a purchase can make an informed decision based on these points. Mineral sunscreens have their downsides like cleansing difficulties, white cast, inner dryness with oily surface, and application issues. However, this one has some positives: 1. Washability: Despite being a mineral sunscreen, it rinses off well. This is truly praiseworthy. Though it does come off easily... 2. Application: It contains C-alkyl benzoate, which is key to its smooth application. It feels like a hydrating emulsion. 3. Moderate white cast: They've used good light-scattering agents, balancing application and white cast. However, using the recommended amount can still leave an unattractive white tint. 4. Minimal oiliness. 5. Low irritation: Unlike some 'natural' products that use strong essential oils, this is nearly fragrance-free and doesn't contain harsh aromatics, making it less irritating. This is my favorite aspect. 1. Inner dryness: Typical of mineral sunscreens. A solid skincare routine can help mitigate this. 2. Application issues: While it spreads easily, it dries quickly. Trying to apply it thoroughly can lead to pilling and uneven patches. 3. Skin deterioration: It gets dry over time, with a powdery feel. Wearing it from morning to evening cleansing seems too much for the skin. After 3 days of use, I noticed blemishes and roughness. I'll only use it for short periods now. It's not suitable for daily use as it can worsen skin condition. This is its biggest drawback. 4. Difficult to mix: Its milky texture makes it hard to blend with other products. I tried mixing it with chemical sunscreens to address its standalone issues, but it was very inconvenient. 5. Poor value: At full price it's over $30, and even on sale it's $20. There are many similarly effective sunscreens for $10-$20, making this hard to justify. I won't be repurchasing. Additional point: 6. Not truly washable: While the white cast rinses off with water, giving the illusion of washability, it's deceiving. Even after double cleansing, there's still that typical sunscreen residue. You need an oil cleanser to get truly smooth skin.
