I've been using the original Double Wear foundation for over a decade, but on days when I have to wear a mask for long periods, I decided to try this product with just sunscreen. To my surprise, it exceeded my expectations in terms of coverage and complexion correction. I'm extremely satisfied! From now on, I plan to skip foundation altogether and use this sunscreen alone for my skin makeup. So far, I haven't experienced any downsides after using it. If I had to nitpick, maybe the price compared to the amount you get? When applied with a wedge sponge, it evens skin tone naturally and absorbs well. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMay 18, 2025
A tone-up sun cream in a neutral tone, around shade 21. The application is more comfortable than expected, and the herbal scent of mint? eucalyptus? is pleasant. It provides natural-looking tone correction, and I purchased it as a convenient alternative to foundation or cushion. It applies smoothly and finishes with a slightly matte look, making it comfortable to use during the summer. It feels slightly thick and sticky when applied, and becomes slightly dry after some time. While it applies well on larger areas like the cheeks and forehead, it may slightly cling on the nose area. This is meant to be an easy-to-apply product, but requires some skill in application. The coverage provides a natural-looking skin finish, but is not enough to fully replace foundation. When going to exercise, going to the market, or going out in front of the house in the evening, or when traveling to Southeast Asia, I tend to apply it. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 15, 2025
This is a good alternative to foundation. It provides a natural-looking tone-up effect, and unlike regular sunscreen, it also offers light coverage, making it a good option for those who want to avoid foundation. The price is also not bad. The UV protection index is also decent, so it's a good choice. It would likely suit students who have difficulty using foundation or cushion, as well as those with poor skin. After using it, there is no noticeable breakout, and it does not cause significant whitening like tone-up sunscreen or a heavy, stuffy feeling like foundation. The formula is a bit on the dry side. I'm oily, so I don't recommend it to those with dry skin. Lately, there have been a lot of pore-minimizing products coming out, so I'd suggest looking into other products. Since the formula is dry, when you apply it with your hands, the texture of your fingers can be left on your skin, which doesn't look good. So, apply it with your hands to a certain extent, then use a puff or cushion to help it absorb better. While it's pore-minimizing, it doesn't have the same level of coverage as a foundation, so a concealer is a must! Just like applying sunscreen before foundation, please use another sunscreen before using this product. It will apply smoothly that way. However, if you just use your hands to apply it, it won't be great, so please use a puff. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 10, 2025
It's not bad: 1. Good ingredients Safe enough for sensitive skin to use daily without causing blemishes 2. Evens out skin tone While not as effective as foundation, it helps create a more uniform complexion 3. Provides coverage Though it won't completely conceal blemishes, it does offer some coverage 1. Darkening effect Skin appears darker a few hours after application 2. Ambiguous product positioning It's neither a foundation nor a sunscreen... Yet it requires double cleansing and some skin prep before use... Feels like it lacks clear benefits considering the inconvenience 3. Drying effect I have combination skin with dry cheeks, and sometimes I notice dead skin cells appearing on my cheeks after use I recommend trying it on at Olive Young and checking how well it matches your complexion after a few hours before purchasing... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 5, 2025
As someone with combination skin, I was on the hunt for a summer-friendly base product. Since cushions and foundations tend to cause blemishes on my skin when applied thickly, I decided to try this for a foundation-free look. And wow, I've discovered an unexpected gem! The Hwahae Testers would be impressed. Its staying power is quite good, and the coverage is just enough to even out skin tone without masking your natural complexion. I highly recommend this to those seeking a natural-looking product. Even after hours of wear, it doesn't get overly oily, making it perfect for combination to oily skin types! The product size is disappointingly small... It's about the size of a palm, if that. This is the main reason I'm hesitant about repurchasing. There's also a very slight issue with emphasizing dead skin cells. I have visible veins under my skin, so I've attached a photo for you to see the level of coverage. Please keep in mind that I have freckles and thin skin with visible veins when assessing the results! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 15, 2025
This is truly a must-have repurchase item! Even on busy mornings, applying just this one product gives you that 'made-up' effect. It's capable of covering pores to some extent, and I love how it brightens my complexion without making my face look unnaturally white. Instead, it evens out my skin tone in a way that blends seamlessly with my natural skin. On days when my skin texture isn't at its best, using this can actually emphasize dead skin cells and cause patchiness. In dry environments like offices, if you're there for long hours, it seems to absorb not just oil but also moisture, leading to deep dryness. However, this is probably unavoidable unless it's a deeply hydrating product. Despite these drawbacks, it's still my holy grail as the benefits outweigh these issues for me. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 1, 2025
Absolutely love it! I usually can't use sunscreen because it gives me blemishes, so I used this as an alternative to Numbuzin. It not only evens out my skin tone but also covers my pores. I only need to apply a little foundation for a smooth finish. It would be nice if it had a bit more coverage! But honestly, I can't find any real drawbacks. It works perfectly as a base before makeup, like a brightening moisturizer. Just one application is enough. It's also great mixed 1:1 with foundation. - Hwahae UserDry SkinDec 14, 2024
It really evens skin tone naturally. Even with dry skin, it doesn't flake and works great. I mix it slightly with sunscreen, and it's perfect for daily use. For oily skin, some shine appears in the afternoon. However, it doesn't break down messily. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinDec 4, 2024
I tried this when I was obsessed with going foundation-free, and it was highly recommended. It finishes with a wonderfully matte feel, provides just the right amount of tone correction, and applies lightly. Everyone was shocked when I told them I wasn't wearing foundation, just this brightening moisturizer! Two friends immediately went out and bought it after seeing my results. As time passes and oil builds up, it starts to pill and separate. I scratched my face because it was itchy, and the product left tiger-like streaks where my nails had been... It was quite an awkward situation to say the least. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 29, 2024
While I bought this product hoping for coverage, it only provides slight texture correction! It's best suited for those with already good skin. I expected at least a little coverage, but there's none at all, absolutely none... Hmm, I found applying it with my hands worked better than using a puff! It suits the product's consistency too, haha.
