I've tried various products for a foundation-free look, but often faced issues like lack of coverage or excessive oiliness causing pilling. This product, however, has none of those problems! Even when applied roughly with fingers, it adheres well without any patchiness. The best part is its sun protection feature, so you only need this one product - how convenient! I didn't notice any darkening, and it blends naturally with my complexion over time. What I love most is how it gives a natural glow even when applied casually, making it look like I'm not wearing makeup at all. It only comes in one shade, which felt a bit light for me as someone who usually uses shades 22-23. However, I found that after wearing it for a short while, it adjusts nicely to match my skin tone. Compared to foundations or cushions, while it applies more smoothly, the coverage isn't as high. For a radiant finish, try applying a thin layer with your fingers and then gently patting it in with a puff. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 30, 2025
I bought this for a foundation-free makeup look, but initially, I made a rookie mistake by applying too much like sunscreen, turning myself into a ghost! 😅 Remember, it has brightening properties, so you must control the amount. When applied correctly, it gives a natural finish while providing some subtle coverage unlike regular sunscreens. It's perfect for a no-foundation day! The texture initially seems to absorb well, but it feels a bit dry and matte. It's definitely different from your typical moisturizing sunscreen, which is disappointing. To get the best results, start with a small amount and build up as needed. This will help you achieve that natural, brightening effect without overdoing it. For those with drier skin types, you might want to layer a hydrating moisturizer underneath for added comfort. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinMay 28, 2025
It's a bit shiny at first, but the shine fades over time, so it's fine. It gives a natural and beautiful brightening effect to your complexion. Even with double cleansing, it doesn't wash off 100% completely. As a high school student, I apply sunscreen at 7 AM and cleanse between 8-10 PM, so some skin irritation is inevitable. However, I sometimes feel a tingling sensation during the day, and when I get home, I notice blemishes have appeared. After wearing it for a long time, excess oil does come through. When first applied, there's a slight shine, but in winter, you can go out without powder as the oil absorbs over time. In summer, you definitely need to set it with powder! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 27, 2025
I'm on my third bottle of this, and I love how it has a semi-matte texture that naturally brightens my skin tone while making my complexion look beautiful! The staying power is great, and it doesn't cause any blemishes, which is fantastic! I honestly can't think of any downsides. I haven't tried other foundation-free sunscreens, so I can't really compare it to anything else. I found it easier to apply when I kept my skincare routine light underneath. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 19, 2025
Natural Brightening Effect The tone-up beige color illuminates your skin, giving you a radiant impression. It subtly brightens without any white cast, allowing you to achieve a natural complexion. Lightweight Application It applies thinly and smoothly like a cream, without any heaviness. Even when layered, it doesn't feel thick and finishes as light as a feather. Recommended for Clean Makeup Perfect as a foundation-free item that can be used without traditional foundation! Optimized for daily clean makeup when you want light and natural coverage. Coverage You might find it slightly lacking in completely concealing blemishes or dullness. If you're expecting full coverage like a regular foundation, you may be disappointed. Layer Thinly Multiple Times After applying a thin layer, wait a bit and then build up another layer for increased blemish coverage. Matte Powder Finish If you want a matte finish, lightly pat your usual powder over it for a final touch. Remember to Apply Thinly Applying it too thickly may hinder its effectiveness, so try using just one thin layer as a starting point. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMay 18, 2025
- The color is natural The color has a light beige feel with a reddish undertone It's not too bright and applies evenly, making it a good fit for concentrated application on dull areas, like when using a concealer as a base - The finish is clean and powdery (Conveys a moist, healthy skin expression <<< Expresses a powdery, less shiny finish) - It nicely enhances the skin texture (This type of formula should be avoided when the skin is dry or flushed, causing the skin texture to deteriorate) - The formula itself is moderately dense, so it applies comfortably in small amounts and blends well into the skin When spread out, it adheres thinly The color may feel less vibrant depending on your skin tone and the desired look. It can also appear dull. The coverage may not be as seamless or feel heavy depending on your skin condition and base makeup application. It does not create non-existent skin texture. You cannot expect a smooth and dewy skin finish. However, the product absorbs well and provides a natural skin-like appearance. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMay 18, 2025
A tone-up sun cream in a neutral tone, around shade 21. The application is more comfortable than expected, and the herbal scent of mint? eucalyptus? is pleasant. It provides natural-looking tone correction, and I purchased it as a convenient alternative to foundation or cushion. It applies smoothly and finishes with a slightly matte look, making it comfortable to use during the summer. It feels slightly thick and sticky when applied, and becomes slightly dry after some time. While it applies well on larger areas like the cheeks and forehead, it may slightly cling on the nose area. This is meant to be an easy-to-apply product, but requires some skill in application. The coverage provides a natural-looking skin finish, but is not enough to fully replace foundation. When going to exercise, going to the market, or going out in front of the house in the evening, or when traveling to Southeast Asia, I tend to apply it. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMay 15, 2025
This is a good alternative to foundation. It provides a natural-looking tone-up effect, and unlike regular sunscreen, it also offers light coverage, making it a good option for those who want to avoid foundation. The price is also not bad. The UV protection index is also decent, so it's a good choice. It would likely suit students who have difficulty using foundation or cushion, as well as those with poor skin. After using it, there is no noticeable breakout, and it does not cause significant whitening like tone-up sunscreen or a heavy, stuffy feeling like foundation. The formula is a bit on the dry side. I'm oily, so I don't recommend it to those with dry skin. Lately, there have been a lot of pore-minimizing products coming out, so I'd suggest looking into other products. Since the formula is dry, when you apply it with your hands, the texture of your fingers can be left on your skin, which doesn't look good. So, apply it with your hands to a certain extent, then use a puff or cushion to help it absorb better. While it's pore-minimizing, it doesn't have the same level of coverage as a foundation, so a concealer is a must! Just like applying sunscreen before foundation, please use another sunscreen before using this product. It will apply smoothly that way. However, if you just use your hands to apply it, it won't be great, so please use a puff. - Hwahae UserDry SkinMay 7, 2025
This sunscreen is absolutely incredible! I've tried so many different ones, but nothing compares to how naturally this brightens my complexion. It doesn't cause any pilling with makeup, isn't sticky at all, and leaves my skin feeling fresh and hydrated. It's perfect for the current 'no-foundation' trend - I can just apply this and go out, and everyone asks if I'm wearing makeup because my skin looks so good. It's a win-win: staying on-trend while improving my skin. I can't recommend it enough, everyone should try it! I honestly can't think of any downsides. It doesn't cause any blemishes, and I wholeheartedly recommend it! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMay 5, 2025
As someone with combination skin, I was on the hunt for a summer-friendly base product. Since cushions and foundations tend to cause blemishes on my skin when applied thickly, I decided to try this for a foundation-free look. And wow, I've discovered an unexpected gem! The Hwahae Testers would be impressed. Its staying power is quite good, and the coverage is just enough to even out skin tone without masking your natural complexion. I highly recommend this to those seeking a natural-looking product. Even after hours of wear, it doesn't get overly oily, making it perfect for combination to oily skin types! The product size is disappointingly small... It's about the size of a palm, if that. This is the main reason I'm hesitant about repurchasing. There's also a very slight issue with emphasizing dead skin cells. I have visible veins under my skin, so I've attached a photo for you to see the level of coverage. Please keep in mind that I have freckles and thin skin with visible veins when assessing the results!
