  Pros

  - Texture: Incredibly soft. When I first opened it, it looked a bit solid, so I thought it might spread like slightly hardened Vaseline. But I was surprised by how smoothly it scooped out! As soon as it touches your face, it melts gently on your skin. - Scent: It has exactly the charcoal scent you'd expect from a charcoal cleansing balm. A neutral charcoal fragrance. - Cleansing effectiveness: It was better at cleansing than I expected! I used it after removing eye makeup with a remover, but it quickly dissolved the leftover mascara residue and eyeliner that the remover didn't get.

  Cons

  - While there's no residue, because the texture is so soft, it feels a bit slippery. You need to rinse it off more thoroughly than an oil cleanser. That was slightly disappointing for me. Other than that, I'm satisfied.

  Tip

  I always do a thorough 3-step cleanse: makeup remover, cleansing oil, then cleansing foam. Although this product says double cleansing isn't necessary, I still do at least two steps! I replaced the remover and oil steps with this cleansing balm, then followed up with a cleansing foam for a thorough cleanse. It left my skin feeling clean and refreshed! This was my first time trying a cleansing balm, and I think it was a good experiment.

  Texture: I've used many cleansing milks and oils, but this is my first time trying a balm format! It's creamier than I expected and melts nicely on the skin, making it easy to spread. Scent: It has a pleasant cleansing fragrance that's not overwhelming. While it could have been fine unscented, the subtle aroma is quite nice! Application: Using the spoon method isn't as inconvenient as I thought, and the balm maintains its form well. I like that I can use it up completely, unlike pump bottles. Cleansing Effectiveness: When you melt the balm and massage it on your skin, it creates a nice glide. It removes makeup effectively and emulsifies well! The finish isn't drying either. Skin Type: I have oily skin prone to blemishes. For my skin type, the balm texture might feel a bit richer than oil cleansers. However, it didn't cause any issues with my blemish-prone areas. I even feel like my pores might have gotten smaller!

  Since you need to scoop out the balm for each use, it's not easy to control the amount, so it might run out quickly. I prefer a squeaky clean finish, so when I used this product alone, it left a slightly slippery feeling. I followed up with a cleansing foam. The after-feel might be a matter of personal preference. It might be too rich for those with oily skin due to its high oil content! It would probably suit those with dry skin better. While the ingredients list could be improved, it didn't cause any skin irritation, so I plan to continue using it.

  First off, the texture felt just like Vaseline! It starts off solid, but when applied to the skin, it transforms into an oil-like consistency. As I massaged it in, I could feel it working on my dead skin cells and evening out my skin tone. The product claims to clear blackheads with its charcoal ingredient, and while they didn't completely disappear, I did notice some improvement which was nice. During use, I wondered if it was really effective, but after cleansing, I could definitely see an improvement in my skin texture. It left my skin feeling slightly hydrated with a protective layer - like a veil had been placed over it. I was shocked at how incredibly soft my skin felt! As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I found it wasn't too heavy for me as long as I followed up with a thorough second cleanse.
