  The built-in spatula makes it incredibly easy to scoop out the product, and it melts beautifully when applied to the skin. It gently dissolves makeup, and when I feel some texture around my nose area, I make sure to massage it thoroughly. This helps reduce the appearance of blackheads.

  - Texture: Incredibly soft. When I first opened it, it looked a bit solid, so I thought it might spread like slightly hardened Vaseline. But I was surprised by how smoothly it scooped out! As soon as it touches your face, it melts gently on your skin. - Scent: It has exactly the charcoal scent you'd expect from a charcoal cleansing balm. A neutral charcoal fragrance. - Cleansing effectiveness: It was better at cleansing than I expected! I used it after removing eye makeup with a remover, but it quickly dissolved the leftover mascara residue and eyeliner that the remover didn't get.

  Cons

  - While there's no residue, because the texture is so soft, it feels a bit slippery. You need to rinse it off more thoroughly than an oil cleanser. That was slightly disappointing for me. Other than that, I'm satisfied.

  Tip

  I always do a thorough 3-step cleanse: makeup remover, cleansing oil, then cleansing foam. Although this product says double cleansing isn't necessary, I still do at least two steps! I replaced the remover and oil steps with this cleansing balm, then followed up with a cleansing foam for a thorough cleanse. It left my skin feeling clean and refreshed! This was my first time trying a cleansing balm, and I think it was a good experiment.

  Texture: I've used many cleansing milks and oils, but this is my first time trying a balm format! It's creamier than I expected and melts nicely on the skin, making it easy to spread.
