I've struggled with severe acne and oily skin for over a decade, since late elementary school, making my skin sensitive and prone to redness. I'm currently undergoing redness treatment at a dermatologist, and while even sunscreen can be a bit harsh, I was satisfied with how this reduced the redness. - Being a mineral sunscreen, unlike chemical ones, it provides immediate UV protection upon application. This means you can apply it quickly before heading out. It also has a subtle brightening effect, which helps make your bare face look a bit more polished when you go out. - Thanks to the cica ingredients, it gives me a feeling that it will soothe my skin well.
Cons- My skin is extremely sensitive... Even products that initially work well often cause reactions after a week or two, so I'm a bit worried. - I have severe oily skin, possibly seborrheic dermatitis? But I also experience occasional deep dryness. After wearing this for a while, my skin feels oily but also slightly tight, as if the moisture has evaporated... + Unfortunately, my skin ended up reacting badly. The application felt nice, though.

However, not all products containing cica are always suitable for my skin. I needed a sunscreen, and I tend to have some redness, so a product named 'Cica' and 'Tone-up' sunscreen from the trustworthy Real Barrier brand caught my attention. I was hoping to be selected for the Hwahae Testers program, and thankfully, I got the chance to try it out. Although it didn't quite suit me, I appreciate the opportunity. I prefer products that leave my skin feeling moisturized rather than matte. This sunscreen felt hydrating right after application, but it became more matte over time. For me, this felt a bit drying, so I had to layer a moisturizer on top. The brightening effect was also less noticeable than I expected. My overall health wasn't great during the testing period, which might have affected my experience, so I think I'll need to use it more to get a more accurate assessment.
ConsIt feels hydrating immediately after application, but becomes drier as time passes.
TipThis might be better suited for use in summer rather than winter.

I really loved that it's a mineral sunscreen! The texture wasn't heavy and felt just right. Right after applying, it was a bit shiny with some oiliness, but as time passed, both the shine and oiliness decreased. The color has a slight green tint, which could be great for those with redness in their complexion. I usually get small bumps on my face if I apply sunscreen incorrectly, but this didn't cause any at all. I have super sensitive skin that reacts badly to even one incompatible product! Also, remember to cleanse your sunscreen thoroughly! I do a double cleanse even on days I wear sunscreen. It was perfect for quick outings like dining near home or short walks - I just applied this sunscreen and covered blemish scars with concealer. I think this will become a staple in my routine. Time to switch my sunscreen!
ConsIf you have dry skin and don't properly moisturize, you might experience some deep dryness. Make sure to apply a good cream before using this sunscreen!

As someone with sun allergies, I prioritize sun protection, and I've been using this without any blemishes. I'm satisfied with how well it covers dark spots and pigmentation. When comparing it side-by-side with a non-brightening sunscreen, the difference was significant. The texture isn't thick or hard to spread - it applies smoothly. I was worried my face might look ghostly white if I only used this, but it looked fine and became more natural over time. Overall, I'm pleased with both its sun protection (SPF PA++++ 50) and brightening effects. It's especially great for summer when layering multiple products can feel heavy. When I'm at home or running errands nearby, I can just apply this alone. It adequately covers imperfections and gives my face a brighter look, so I'll likely use it often.
ConsAfter using it for about two months, I'm almost out. Perhaps because I have dry skin, I feel it's a bit drying when used alone. I've been mixing it with another sunscreen without brightening effects.
TipFor those with dry skin in winter, it might be good to mix this with a hydrating or nourishing cream.

Being a mineral sunscreen with gentle ingredients, I didn't experience any burning sensation or eye irritation. It's said to contain ingredients that help soothe the skin. While I didn't personally feel a calming effect, I think it helped prevent my skin from becoming more sensitive. The brightening moisturizer effect is natural and pretty. I really dislike sunscreens that leave a ghostly white cast, but this product's tone-up effect is pleasantly natural. It applies moisturizing but finishes with a soft, matte feel. That's why I'd recommend it for combination dehydrated skin or oily skin types who prefer a hydrating product.
ConsIt's too drying for very dry skin. The finish feels dry after absorption, so it becomes increasingly dehydrating over time. I wouldn't recommend it for those with extremely dry skin; I'd suggest using a chemical sunscreen instead. On days when I skimped on my skincare routine and only applied this sunscreen, I felt significant dryness. The price is steep. Compared to my go-to sunscreen, it's almost twice the cost... Especially in summer when sunscreen is used frequently, this price point could be burdensome.

It doesn't leave a stark white cast but adheres well to the skin. Despite being a mineral sunscreen, it has a smooth texture that absorbs well. It's surprisingly compact, so I carried it around. There's no scent and zero irritation.
ConsIt tends to get a bit dry as time passes. The brightening effect doesn't last very long. You'll need to double cleanse to remove it completely!
TipMake sure to build a solid skincare foundation... Apply a generous amount of hydrating moisturizer and let it absorb well!

Thankfully, the Cica Green Tone-Up Sunscreen was a pleasant surprise! Its gentle formula, enriched with centella asiatica extract, didn't irritate my sensitive skin at all. I'm particularly picky about sunscreen textures, avoiding heavy or draggy formulas. This one, however, has a lightweight consistency that glides on smoothly, almost as if you're not wearing anything. I was impressed by how quickly it absorbed into my skin, leaving a fresh, non-greasy finish. It even seemed to provide a subtle brightening effect without any white cast. The fragrance-free formula is a bonus, making it perfect for those who prefer a clean, no-fuss application.
ConsConsidering the price per volume, it does feel a bit expensive. While there's an initial brightening effect when you first apply it, this seems to fade rather quickly. If you're expecting long-lasting tone-up effects or a dramatic change in complexion, you might be disappointed. Also, despite feeling somewhat hydrating upon application, it wasn't quite enough for my extremely dry skin. As time passed, I noticed my skin feeling increasingly parched, which was disappointing.
TipThis sunscreen could be a great option for those who prefer a gentle, lightweight formula that doesn't pill under makeup. However, if you have very dry skin like mine, you might want to layer it over a rich moisturizer for deep hydration. It's all about finding the right balance for your skin's needs!

A sunscreen with great ingredients suitable even for sensitive skin! 2. It naturally brightens the complexion
ConsCons: 1. While it absorbs quickly, there's a slight excess of richness that makes it feel like it's sitting on top of the skin! I think I understand what people mean when they say it's drying! It's kind of like deep dryness?? 2. Personally, I think it would be better for combination dehydrated skin in winter rather than summer!
Tip*Photos - 1,2: Immediately after applying sunscreen / After 8+ hours on skin 1. Looking at the reviews, some people find it drying, while those with combination dehydrated skin like me feel a slight richness. It seems the experience varies depending on your skincare routine and skin type. For those with dry skin, make sure to layer your skincare products well. For combination or oily skin types, a light application should be perfect for the current weather, providing just the right amount of richness. 2. If you're applying foundation, cushion, or other makeup over the sunscreen, I recommend using only a tiny amount of sunscreen! For those only using sunscreen, layer your skincare products well and apply a normal amount of sunscreen.

First off, I'm currently taking isotretinoin, so my skin is quite dry. Recently, I've been using two products that work well for me: 1) Dr.G Red Blemish Sun Cream 2) Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Cream Both are gentle and hydrating, perfect for applying before makeup without causing any irritation or pilling. Now, this Real Barrier sun cream I won in an event is a mineral sunscreen that's surprisingly moisturizing. It gives a slight brightening effect, which is great as a makeup base. It evens out my complexion nicely. Plus, it doesn't sting my eyes, so I can apply it liberally without worry!
ConsAfter a while, my makeup starts to separate around my nose and under my chin. This might be more noticeable because my skin is dry, but it seems particularly bad with this product. It feels moisturizing at first, but gets a bit dry as time passes. From what I've researched, this seems to be common with most mineral sunscreens.
