But that doesn't mean it's bad! I'm using it well because it's gentle. The texture is very nice - it doesn't irritate my skin at all and keeps it moisturized. However, it's not quite thumbs-up worthy. Let's just say it's in a gray area!
ConsSince the formula is green, I was hoping it would cover facial redness, but unfortunately it didn't live up to that expectation.
TipOh, and the texture doesn't feel sticky at all, so it's great to apply even down to your neck!

It's quite transparent! Now, I have skin prone to redness, so I always apply a green sunscreen or makeup base before my foundation, followed by concealer. Since sunscreen is the first step in my skincare routine, it's crucial that it works well with my foundation. Even on days when I'm not wearing makeup, I need something non-irritating with just the right amount of brightening. We all know sunscreen is a must 365 days a year, right?! The brightening effect isn't too strong, and any white cast disappears over time. Anyway, while searching for sunscreens, I remembered how effective the Real Barrier sunscreen was when I had a severe case of seborrheic dermatitis. When I found out they had a version with a green base, I quickly snagged it at a great price on a secondhand marketplace! Using it, I realized... this product is truly transparent! It's incredibly consistent - the texture when you first apply it and how it feels on your skin doesn't change. It's a product that combines both oil and moisture, gliding on smoothly. It's oddly rich yet incredibly hydrating, so it doesn't separate on the skin. There's absolutely no deep dryness, and foundation adheres beautifully on top of it.
ConsIt's quite rich. If you use oil blotting papers, you'll see they get completely soaked... You'll need to use powder, that's for sure! It's considerably oilier compared to other sunscreens, but it does contain a lot of moisture to balance it out. Also, in my opinion, the green tint was quite subtle. (Referring to the photo, it's clearly lighter in green compared to other makeup bases.) This means it absolutely won't cover redness on its own - you should approach it as a gentle sun protection product. Additionally, mineral sunscreens usually contain both zinc and titanium, but this one only has zinc, which made me question its sun protection ability a bit. I was surprised that a mineral sunscreen could have such good absorption... but it's from the Real Barrier line, so we can trust it, right?
TipIt's extremely rich... Photo reference is a must. However, it's also very hydrating, so it might be great for those with dry skin. I apply this on my U-zone and use Cosrx Tone-Up Sun Cream on my T-zone!

I had used Real Barrier brand cream and foam cleanser before, but they didn't suit my skin. So I was a bit worried when trying this, but I'm extremely satisfied with this soothing sunscreen! I've tried several green tone-up sunscreens from other brands, but this one seems to be the best among all the green tone-up options on the market, for real. There's absolutely no irritation or eye stinging. It doesn't cause any skin reactions when applied, and it didn't irritate my existing blemishes at all. The consistency is just right for easy application. I usually only apply sunscreen before heading to work, and this one provides a nice, subtle brightening effect~
ConsOf course, like most products, it seems to disappear completely after some time, leaving your skin looking bare

I've been trying to find a gentle one for months, and luckily, I got selected as a Hwahae Tester to try this product. The texture is non-sticky and applies smoothly. It's a brightening moisturizer that noticeably evens out my complexion. Most importantly, it feels genuinely gentle on my skin. Unlike other sunscreens that often caused redness and itching, this one thankfully didn't trigger any such reactions. That's what I really appreciated about it.
ConsThe only downside is that I wish it was a bit more hydrating. When I layered it multiple times and applied makeup on top, it seemed to pill slightly.
TipIt's important to control the amount you apply. I found that using too much at once made it difficult for the skin to absorb. It's better to apply it in small, gradual layers for the best results.

This product caught my eye because it combines tone-evening and sun protection functions, which seemed convenient! Contrary to my expectations, it had a surprisingly rich and elastic texture. Despite its green color, I wondered if it would have a color-correcting effect, but it didn't! Instead of a matte finish, this gentle sunscreen unexpectedly leaves the skin hydrated with quite a nice glow.
ConsOn the downside, the tone-evening effect wasn't as natural as I'd hoped. It left a white cast similar to mineral sunscreens, which was a bit disappointing. The texture also felt somewhat stiff rather than smooth, so it didn't absorb as well as I would have liked!

Color: As advertised, it has a subtle green tint for brightening! Glow: Leaves a beautiful Inner Glow after application Sensitivity: Gentle enough for blemish-prone skin! Transfer: Minimal transfer onto dark clothing.
ConsWhile marketed as a green-tinted product for neutralizing redness, it didn't quite meet expectations. It helps with minor redness but isn't perfect. For more complete coverage, a color corrector might be necessary.

The ingredients seem to be quite gentle on the skin.
ConsIt's a bit richer than I expected, and it might be challenging to layer multiple times.

I used it throughout The Hwahae Testers period without any skin blemishes. 🌿Ingredients The ingredients are skin-friendly, with soothing centella asiatica extract, making it comfortable even for sensitive skin. 🌿Fragrance-Free It's a gentle, fragrance-free sunscreen. I appreciate that the ingredient list doesn't include any fragrances. Being unscented makes it perfect for daily use. 🌿Application Despite being a mineral sunscreen, it spreads easily without feeling thick. It feels moisturizing at first, then settles into a pleasantly matte finish over time. 🌿Green Base It helps balance out redness and evens skin tone. This was my first time trying a green-based tone-up sunscreen, and it suited my skin well. 🌿Tone-Up Effect The tone-up effect may vary depending on your complexion, skin type, and personal preference. There's a noticeable white cast initially, but it absorbs naturally over time. It's useful for a quick tone correction when going out bare-faced.
ConsThe price point is a bit high. I hope Hwahae offers it on sale or in value sets (1+1) more often. I didn't notice an immediate soothing effect while using it. There's slight pilling around the pores and sides of the nose, so it's important to prep your skin well before applying. Make sure to build a strong foundation of hydration and moisture. While not severe, I felt some deep dryness over time and a slight increase in oiliness.
TipApply in small amounts multiple times! It's crucial to control the amount with this product, so instead of applying a lot at once, spread it out in several thin layers for better absorption.

It leaves the skin feeling moisturized with a fresh finish. I haven't tried it in hot weather yet, but the texture suggests it won't feel too sticky even when you sweat. Scent: It's unscented, which I prefer. I don't like strong fragrances in skincare products, and fragrance-free options are usually less irritating for the skin! Color: It has a green tint, which should be great for reducing redness, especially as we approach summer. When first applied, it looks green, but as you spread it, it provides a brightening effect that makes your skin look fairer! Blemishes: After using it for 1-2 weeks, I haven't experienced any blemishes, and it seems gentle without causing irritation. It contains Cica ingredients, but I'll need to use it longer to fully assess its soothing effects. Packaging: The container is sturdy and hygienic with its squeeze-type design. Personally, I love how pretty and durable the packaging is!
ConsPrice: While the volume isn't too small, the price is a bit on the higher side. I wish it went on sale more often. Other than that, I haven't noticed any significant drawbacks yet!

Being a mineral sunscreen with gentle ingredients, I didn't experience any burning sensation or eye irritation. It's said to contain ingredients that help soothe the skin. While I didn't personally feel a calming effect, I think it helped prevent my skin from becoming more sensitive. The brightening moisturizer effect is natural and pretty. I really dislike sunscreens that leave a ghostly white cast, but this product's tone-up effect is pleasantly natural. It applies moisturizing but finishes with a soft, matte feel. That's why I'd recommend it for combination dehydrated skin or oily skin types who prefer a hydrating product.
ConsIt's too drying for very dry skin. The finish feels dry after absorption, so it becomes increasingly dehydrating over time. I wouldn't recommend it for those with extremely dry skin; I'd suggest using a chemical sunscreen instead. On days when I skimped on my skincare routine and only applied this sunscreen, I felt significant dryness. The price is steep. Compared to my go-to sunscreen, it's almost twice the cost... Especially in summer when sunscreen is used frequently, this price point could be burdensome.
